lostfan replied to LittleHurt05's topic in 2012 Season in Review
Do these guys even know they're in a division race? Do they know it's a race against the Tigers? -

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 07:53 PM) I'm just saying what it is, I was surprised CPS made so much more. That attitude in general will hold back progress in getting good compensation for workers. At least elucidate the facts like most of us are trying to in this thread. Sometimes the workers won't be in the right, sometimes they will. Sometimes it will be a matter of philosophical differences. It's already been mentioned in this thread, I didn't think I really had to repeat it. They don't have issue with the salary, they already agreed to that. They have an issue with their evaluation being tied to student performance which becomes an issue in lower-income communities. They are also upset about the lack of even funding, counselors, class size, etc.

I don't really like how in the media and in discussions everybody just assumes this is about teachers wanting more money. Typical attitude towards striking workers any time, though.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 07:34 PM) In the simplest of senses, yes. They do way worse than kids of higher socioeconomic backgrounds. Are their exceptions? Sure. But statistically speaking, it is a truism. When you break it down to the lowest level, yeah, that's true

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) I sincerely wish Anonymous and groups like it would go die in a f***ing fire already. Morons. Normally when you say this you get smacked on the wrist. You probably won't this time, lol

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) True OTOH, the Bears D has had good success vs Rodgers in containing him but the Packers D also bothers the s*** out of Cutler. Gonna be a great game. Cutler had 302 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs the last time they played, and was sacked 3 times. It's not so much that the defense bothers him specifically as much as Matt Forte was his only reliable target. Knox and Hester were the #1 and #2 WRs that game. Green Bay plays them physical and they just would fold because they're soft, neither one of those guys was reliable at route-running either. It's different with Marshall and Jeffery. Marshall will just abuse the s*** out of you if you try that. Jeffery is like Marshall Jr., and he doesn't take that s*** (ask DeAngelo Hall).

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 10, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) That might have been like a screen play they were trying to set up and it went wrong. It was... I think Newton f***ed that up... still.

You think the Bears offensive line is bad? http://cjzero.com/gifs/BucsJailbreak.gif
-
People started burying the O-line too soon, the sack was actually allowed by Kellen Davis, who had his head up his ass for the entire game just about. After that, once Cutler found his GPS or whatever, he was on fire, and the outcome of the game was never really in doubt. Luck got a lot of yardage but it was basically meaningless because the Bears were up 20 by the time the Colts started doing anything. Also, why does Devin Hester still have defenders of that experiment? He was absolutely brutal today, especially in contrast to Jeffery who looks ready to start at flanker NOW. Hester plays WR like a punt returner, catch, juke, stop, shift, fall down.

Assassin's Creed III looks like it's going to be one of the most bad ass games I've ever played.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 11:07 PM) What do u think of Milkman not caring about prison rape? Why am I the one singled out here just cause I hate Holmes? Milkman flat-out said he doesn't care about prison rape, but you've been trying to weasel around saying that's what you think, and what you're saying is completely incoherent. But name one person who actually "supports" Holmes.

QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 02:11 AM) Tigers fans were obnoxious when I visited Comerica during Sale's start in the 1st Sweep. A few nice and knowledgable ones since we paid good money for !B side 4th row, but obnoxious pricks the rest of the lot around us; besides the decent sized amount of Sox fans down there too. I will be pissed if Tigger fans inVade The Cell overwhelmingly for the 4 game set. Same game, this was my experience too. They were f***ing with us from the moment we got out of the parking garage until we left after the game was over. I don't think I've ever had an experience like that in any road game I've been to for anything.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 12:52 AM) Not really. But I guess if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time a kook like Dahmer could get you. That's kinda scary thought. You're probably not scared about getting raped because people aren't raping you all the time. See how that works?
-
Greg, do you, right now, as you are reading this post, fear being raped? Why or why not?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) I bought an 128 GB OCZ Vortex 4 SSD for $80 today. Other than boot times, do any of you notice a great difference in performance with an SSD in comparison to a traditional hard drive? Programs fire off of it almost immediately.

A win is a f***ing win. It's good to see the Sox recognize that Detroit is not going to lose all of its games...

Seriously? holy s***, I meant to upload that to Facebook, not Soxtalk. No idea why the f*** I did that on Soxtalk for. BAHAHAHA

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) This is fairly entertaining, NSFW, and hopefully not blocked by the swear filter. I was going to post this. Chris Kluwe is hilarious.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) He was just taking a little harmless liberty with things. Obama did say if the government gave out bailouts, the Janesville plant would be open. The plant closed then the government gave tons of bailouts which were successful. fixed

Yes!!! This is a looooooooooong overdue conversation. The 3rd world banana republic joke of a financing system we have right now is the source of all corruption in DC. Even if it's not an actual amendment, public pressure on THE biggest problem in government absolutely needs to happen. http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2012/08/ob...mendment-reddit
