  1. Crede picked Boras to be his agent for a reason. When you pick Scott to be your agent, you are getting yourself ready for your own big pay day. Free agency is where Boras clients make there money. He does a fantastic job of it. Crede being linked up with Scott wasn't an accident. He will NOT sign a long term deal with this club unless it was for an insane amount of money, and we all know that won't happen, and it shouldn't.

If I'm not mistaken I believe Boras works for Crede, not the other way around. It's up to Joe where/what he signs, not the agent.

  2. Lets just ignore the evidence that is well documented on how the sox deal with Boras. We avoid his players like the plague in FA, even in the draft yet you think that we will suddenly work out a long term deal with Crede because of what, faith. What exactly is the long term deal that you would offer a medicore offensive 3rd baseman who had one good year, plays good defense, and has just come off back surgery. I realize that they have invested a lot of years of development, but you realize that this is not the first time the sox have traded one of their own, or let one of their own go. Players like Wilson Alvarez, Alex Fernandez, Robin Ventura, Jack McDowell, Frank Thomas, and others would of played their career out with the sox if they only looked to the investment of draft picks and development time. Its a business, and to be perfectly honest betting 4 to 5 years on Crede for a lot of money wouldnt be all that smart.

Ohh give me a F---ing break. Frank Thomas? He was with the team for over 15 years, bad example. The others are 5 players you picked from the last 20 years, every organization in sports can pick 5 players over the last 20 years that have traded their own. How about more recent players like Buehrle and Konerko, they took somewhat of a discount to stay with the organization. I think if you made a reasonable offer to Crede for like 4 years- 28 million he would take it. This would be the best thing they could do. He plays better then good defense, it GG caliber D and watching Fields boot balls last season should make everyone apprecitate how important Joe is at 3B.

  3. More crazy trade's from members of Crede's crew.

They tried to talk to Crede's agent who told them to bug off we want to go to FA. Yet lets trade Fields the player under control for years and keep the guy who had one good season, and sucked as a batter for the rest and is a FA.

If they offer him a reasonable deal, then yes he would sign it. We all know who his agent is and you're dumb if you think the Sox wouldn't deal with him over personal problems, the man represents some of the best players. The Sox invested years developing Crede and as soon as he comes around everyone wants him gone. Stick with Crede and trade Future "poor mans" Adam Dunne.

  4. No one posted this article either: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...T-sox10.article

KW really needs to be fired, as this mess is just insane.

Yeah god I wish we had the Royals GM or Orioles, Rays, Jays, Rangers, A's, Pirates, Giants, Cardinals, Cubs, Nationals, Reds, Mariners, or Astros, they just seem to make all the right moves and win 90+ games every year or at least two out the the last three. Geez what has Kenny done for this organization...

  5. I read that one and sort of brushed if off as KW trying to get the upper hand in a Crede trade. I still think there is a 90% chance Crede is gone by Opening Day.

If Opening Day comes around and the team still has Crede at 3rd and Fields in Charlotte, still has Owens or Anderson over Quentin (if healthy)... then I'll be pretty upset. And I'm a pretty big Crede fan. He just doesn't fit the needs of the team right now, barring some strange happenings.

How is Fields a better fit then Crede? Let's see...Crede plays near GG defense, while Fields looks lost out there and Crede won the silver slugger award in '06 while Fields is yet to play a full season. By my calculations Crede is better offensively and defensively. Seams like the better fit would be the better player. I say start the season with Crede, if he's healthy offer a multi-year deal and trade Fields.

  6. Both Crede and Fields won't be on the big league roster... I have this sickly feeling that Crede will be the starting third basemen and Fields will be back down at AAA.

Hmmm....And why wouldn't you want the better player starting? If he's here, he's starting and Fields will be at AAA.

  7. We got SIU's number this year, hopefully :D

ISU has manhandled SIU this year, but SIU also has the experience to win arch madness, something ISU lacks. Plus, it's very difficult to beat any team three times in one year. Hopefully we meet in the semi's find out. Who knows, SIU will probably lose to Evansville first. I think ISU is in no matter what they do this weekend.

  8. I'd rather have that than the 100 Years of Futility publicity.

I would be willing to be the Cubs would average less then 25,000 if they played in the Cell. Most of the people at Cubs games are tourist just wanting to get a glimpse of the dump that is Wrigley.

I also take the red line in to USCF, funny thing is, I take it from the addison stop.

  9. I have a lot of respect for Frank. As one other poster said, he is also the reason I became a sox fan. I was sorry to see them let him go the way they did.

I second this. The reason I'm a Sox fan today is because of the big hurt and I was really upset the way KW handled his leaving the Sox. Frank means more to this franchise then you KW and don't you forget that.

  10. I can't believe you posted this. I read an article about him and he's off his addiction. Maybe you should be a bit more sensitive?

The Sox might as well just get Jason Bay, Corey Patterson or a Geoff Jenkins.

I'm sorry I have no sympathy for someone who has it all and throws it away for crack, dogfighting, gambling or whatever it might be. I say the Sox stay away from that liability. Jason Bay on the other hand would look real nice in a sox uniform.

  11. What's disheartening about acquiring Hamilton, we could of gotten him this time last season.

Would have solved a few problems we're facing now.

Because he smokes crack! And he's probably on steroids. No chance I would trade Danks, gio, floyd or anyone else with a future for the addict.

  12. At some point in there career I believe the following 2 FORMER SOX will be listed

Cliff Polite and Neil Cotts!!!!!!!!!! Anyone agree?

I think Polite has already been caught once. If not he's definitely on the list.
