  1. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) I'm voting for Konerko and Votto. That's what i've been doing for about two days now. I think i'm probably 40 votes deep.
  2. Jose Martinez and Josh Phegley have been promoted to W-S. Justin Greene has been promoted to B-Ham
  3. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 25, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) I haven't yet mastered bilocation and omnipresence. It's not as cool as you'd think, gets pretty boring after the initial thrill wears off.
  4. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Has anyone else noticed that Dan Black has been removed from Bristol's roster as a catcher?!?!? ..I wonder what's going on there? He was drafted as a 1b/3b, I was unaware of any position change for him as those were the two positions he played last season
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 05:52 PM) Morel is 0-1 with 2 BB. Despite his pretty bad .211 AVG so far in AAA, he has only 9 strikeouts to 6 walks. He just seems to be real unlucky. I'm not worried about him yet, he's had success at every level so far, if he's still batting .211 at the end of the season then there's reason for concern
  6. HR's for B Short and Justin Greene, I predict that both will be in Birmingham after the all star break.
  7. Charlotte Zaleski B-Ham Edwards W-S and Kanny are off today Bristol Heidenreich Great Falls starts at 9:05 ET Royse
  8. Viciedo would have been picked if not for the callup.
  9. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) Woo go Blackwood . Isn't he just the best!
  10. To get the subject back on Sale, I think that there's so man different things happening with a pitcher's motion that it's almost impossible to predict injury. There will always be exceptions to the rule , Mark Prior is the prime example of "perfect" mechanics going wrong, and on the other side of the coin, Randy Johnson was a skinny, lanky hard throwing lefty with funky mechanics (like Sale)who went on to have one of the best careers of all time so it's honestly just a crap shoot I think. What we do know about Sale is that he's been injury free in college and has been a rock for his team's rotation, these things both bode well for him. Aside from that we'll just wait and see.
  11. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 07:08 PM) Ok it is official, Dusty Harvard too http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/team/trans...amp;team_id=145 Great name, hope he makes it.
  12. Charlotte B Ham Game in a lightning delay W-S Kanny oops, just realized that i used the wrong date, should read 6/18 games
  13. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 06:15 PM) I'll have to disagree. Sure, maybe we look back at these past two games in a month or two and say that this is where he started to turn it around. But to call these two good games anything more than two good games is just overly optimistic thinking. We need to see Danks significantly cut his K% over a considerable period of time before we declare him "fixed". Also are we really calling 2-7, 2 HR "recent success"? He's hitting .184/.225/.368 over his last 10 games with 2 BB/12 SO (30% K%). Well after 2 months of straight suck from him any sign of a pulse is a positive which is the point that I'm making.
  14. Couple of Sox prospects mentioned in this Jason Grey blog, its insider i think but he said that Dan Hudson and Tyler Flowers are in the top ten prospects to watch for callups the rest of the season. http://insider.espn.go.com/sports/fantasy/...&id=5297705
  15. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 05:39 PM) If hitting a home run today is going to cut his K% to I understand that it's not going to happen all at once, but he's hit a couple HR's this week and has cut his K rate down over the same period. So yes, it is possible for his recent success to indicate that he's turning a corner at the plate.
  16. Danks 2 hit his 4th HR tonight, maybe turning it around???
  17. Another possibility is that we have a deal in place to move Sweaty Freddy, just hasn't been announced yet.
  18. Christian Marrero is a BB machine. He's got 41 bb's this year to 40 k's, He has never walked a lot in his career but this season his percentages have gone through the roof.
  19. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) Does the fact that this list only has 2 drafted catchers on it mean that 1 of them definitely is not signing and the other is still undecided? Not sure what you mean by that, if i recall we've already signed the catcher from Tampa, who knows about the other one's we drafted. Are you concerned about playing time for your boy Chase?
  20. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 12:29 PM) In all seriousness, Id like Bobby Valentine. Yeah, i'd like the one guy in baseball who is actually more insane than Ozzie. Anyone else remember when he was with the Mets, got ejected and came back to the bench with a fake mustache and glasses on? That was one of the top then funniest things that i've ever seen in my lifetime.
  21. The announcers even stated during the game when the Cubs fans were booing that it was totally fine for Beckham to be bunting considering that the game was still very winnable. Considering that they were down by just one run a, a base runner puts you right in position to steal a base and tie it with a single. Nothing wrong with what he did, i wouldn't even be mad if we did it in the ninth inning, is the team supposed to just give up and not try to win b/c Lilly has a no no going, i think not.
  22. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 01:29 AM) Ethan Icard signs (13th round). He will report to Bristol on Wednesday. http://www2.hickoryrecord.com/content/2010...ite-sox/sports/ He was drafted by the braves last year, I always like it when we pick a player that the Braves have drafted. Shows me that maybe the kid has some talent, i respect the way the braves always have talent in their minors.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 08:18 AM) That is an ironic statement considering the last trade that AJ was involved in... That's exactly what popped into my head when i read that.
  24. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 08:46 AM) Isn't it from something dating back to Toronto? We traded them Mike Sirotka for god knows who and it turned out that he had a bum shoulder. Toronto said that we knew about it the whole time and traded them damaged goods, we said f*** you and the horse you rode in on, do a better job with your pre-trade physicals and you wouldn't be in the situation. That's what happened in a nutshell. ah- here it is from Sirotka's wikipedia page
