Anybody ready to predict a 2009 Yankee World Series win yet? IMO, the better they are, the more it jinxes them. The favorites never win anymore these days.
-
Is it just me or is it weird that a player of his caliber has already been on 4 teams at only 28?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) Who hits the first home run in the new Yankee Stadium? Manny Ramirez.

Obsessed with (the lack of) Sox off-season moves?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) That division is going to be so brutal (in a good way). Just glad we don't have to deal with those teams anymore than 6 times a piece. ^^^ -
Red Sox and Angels NOT signing Mark Teixeira

QUOTE (tommy @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 07:14 PM) When Yankees signed AROD last year, didn't they deal only with the player and skipped Boras throughout the negotiations? I hope Angels make a move for Paulie. How sure are we that Figgins can play CF, I thought he was a 3B ? IIRC, that's what happened with the A-Rod situation. They were having difficulty negotiating with Boras, so they asked to deal with A-Rod directly. As for Figgins, I think he can play 3B, 2B, OF (IIRC, he played LF a couple of times before and I know he played a bit of CF before Hunter arrived as well). -
QUOTE (philadelphia sox fan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) Anything other than Safari? I personally use Firefox, but I've heard good things about Google Chrome and Opera.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 12:11 PM) Really? Well, I'm exaggerating it a tad bit but I still hear stuff like this a couple times a week. Bigger things like school shootings don't happen that often, but I'm always hearing about somebody shooting up the McDonald's in Seattle or like the Dallas Highway shooting.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) And yet, IIRC, the total crime statistics have been marching downwards for nearly 20 years now. I would bet that most of the crime that has been on the downfall has been petty crimes and organized crime. It seems at least 3-4 times a week now, you can turn on the news and hear about some crazy stuff like this happening all over the country.

Angels May Consider Trading For Dye or Paulie

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 11:08 AM) Playing a full season, I think BA could hit 15-20 HR, Maybe if we played in Seattle for 10-12 games. -
This is pretty scary to think about. All of these nuts killing innocent people. Seems to happen everywhere now: high schools, colleges, highways, Pizza Hut. What the hell is happening to this world?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) Schaub is back. Damnit. At least we don't have to play the Giants, though.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) Oh I didn't. But A.J. is a monster. Is Matt Schaub back yet? Or do they still have Sage Rosenfels starting at QB? Because with Rosenfels, Johnson isn't nearly as big of a threat.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 10:52 PM) They've got to come up with something stellar to contain Andre Johnson. I'm scared to death that he's going to molest us. Can't forget about Steve Slaton.

Next Week: Bears vs. Texans; Vikings vs. Giants Let's go Bears and Giants!

YES! I was so close to getting my ass down to Soldier Field and finding Adrian Peterson if they lost because his horse collar bulls***. Alex Brown, I LOVE YOU! Robbie Gould, I want your children. Please win next week! :headbang

QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) No more worse than some of the dribble I've read from a collective wishful posters on here... in other words, some assume that we would be able to unload our "garbage" and receive "cream of the crop" players in return. besides, ESPN is so EAST coast biased that their "logic" never ceases to amaze me! In fact, if they had their twisted way, I'm sure they write a story about how wonderful it would have been had the Packers beat us tonight and faced Favre in the Super Bowl. We're not Cubs fans.

I would love to see the Cubs sign him. Weren't they interested in Furcal very early on in the off-season? Their 32nd overall pick would go together well with our 24th overall pick.

That's f***ing horrible.

Updates per MLBTR: MONDAY, 8:27am: MLB.com's Bryan Hoch asked Yankees GM Brian Cashman about this report. Cashman responded: "Not true." 3:34pm: Impactivo Deportivo sticks to its guns despite the Cashman denial.

Whatever it takes, I'd like to see the Rangers' pitching staff step it up next year. I they'll have one of the better infields in all of baseball with Blalock at 3B, Young at SS, Kinsler at 2B, Davis at 1B, and Salty/Teagarden behind the plate. I'd love to see them win the division over the free-spending Halo's.

Damn, that's the lowest I've seen Viciedo ranked on anyone's board so far. "10) Dayan Viciendo, 3B, Grade C+: Wild guess on grade and rating. Scouting reports indicate Angel Villalona type, but who knows?" Why not do some research then to make your rankings a bit more legit?
