I'll put updates on here as the 1st round picks are called. Mods, if you mind, please let me know. And so the fun begins. #1. Washington Nationals - Stephen Strasburg, RHP, San Diego State University -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) Look in the FutureSox forum, you'll find far more info than you'll ever need. Also check out www.twitter.com/futuresox You'll get by far the best Sox related draft coverage and we'll back it up with interviews from some of the draft picks in the coming days/weeks. Awesome. You guys now have a new follower on Twitter.

Cool, thanks for the info.

Overall this draft, how are the Sox going this year? I haven't heard any rumblings outside of the 1st pick. Are they finally going to start going with high ceiling high schoolers within the first few rounds?
-
How long do you think C Luke Bailey will last? He just had TJS so it's likely he'll make it out of the first round and go anywhere after that. Another solid catching prospect is something we need with possibility of Tyler Flowers moving from there.
-
In most mock drafts, I've seen the Sox taking a toolsy OF in highschoolers Mike Trout, Everett Williams, Reymond Fuentes (Puerto Rico) and collegiate guys Tim Wheeler (Sacramento State), Jared Mitchell (LSU), A.J. Pollock (Notre Dame), and Brett Jackson (California). I really like Mike Trout and Reymond Fuentes here. I also like LHP Matt Purke if he drops (which I've seen on some boards). I've seen HS 3B Matt Davidson falling out of the 1st round on a lot of boards and I'd love it if we could get him in the supplemental or 2nd round. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'd LOVE the Sox to go with the high ceiling high school players.

I'm looking for the most romantic way to tell the I'm in love with I'm sorry. We recently admitted our feelings for each other and we got into an argument and it seems she's keeping her distance now. Any ideas on what would be the best way to show her that I really am sorry?

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 21, 2009 -> 01:27 AM) What are you interested in majoring in? Sorry, haven't checked the thread in a few days. At the moment, I'm thinking about majoring in marketing or perhaps something else business related.
-
Just added the others. Sorry guys, my mind's a little sluggish today.
-
Who's concerned?
-
I recently took the ACT so I got down to thinking where I might want to go to college. WIU popped into my mind, since my sister graduated from there. I'm really just looking for basic information (personal experiences, positives and negatives about the school, etc.) from people who have attended WIU. Thanks in advance.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Apr 17, 2009 -> 05:31 PM) what about getz, lexi, or becks at 3rd move PK to dh and fields at first next year assuming thome is gone. Brandon Allen might be ready to start the 2010 season at 1B or DH for the Big League club...I'd really love to see him get his chance if he's ready. Ultimately when it comes down to it, if and when Jordan Danks makes it the the Bigs, I think Getz is the odd man out.

White Sox (4-4) @ Tampa Bay Rays (4-5), April 16, 6:08 CDT

Those cowbells are so damn annoying. I'm seriously thinking about muting my TV. -
Maybe they can score a ton at home because it's normally 70+ degrees down there. They then travel to Detroit, where it's been cold of late, and don't produce. The cold weather effects a lot of players. I imagine it would have a huge difference, especially for a team that plays in Texas. Just saying.
-
Why not just go after Edmonds? He would likely produce more than Pods will and is 10x better defensively.
-
If Pods gets recalled, will Fields change his #?
DaTank replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You guys need to let the Pods World Series memories go. He did well for us in '05, and I appreciate it, but come on now. Josh IS #22. Why the f**k should he change it? I could see if Fields was #35 and Frank Thomas signed a deal with us. But Pods? Just stop it. -
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) How about we let Jordan Danks, who is in high A work on his strikeouts, and getting comfortable against lefties before we move him up. He is not ready. I just acknowledged that he still needs to develop. Just showing how much I'm against bringing Owens up.
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:49 PM) What did you expect? Ozzie's going to want a left handed hitting centerfielder with [perceived] good speed to replace Wise. Now who in the organization matches that description. Jordan Danks fits that description. Even though he still needs to develop a ton to be a regular in the Majors, I'd rather see Danks2 than Owens at this point.
-
Latest Cowley update: Ozzie said the only way it won't be Owens is if Ken Williams makes another move before tomorrow.
-
Oh God... per Cowley's twitter: Jerry Owens gets the call.
-
Congrats to them both!

Come talk to me about Emilio Bonifacio in a few months. One week is way too small of a sample size to say anything about him possibly becoming a legit leadoff hitter.
