Kenny on the slow start.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) I am not here to start more pessimism, but honestly the whole In Kenny I trust is old. He hasn't given me one reason to trust him since the 2005 season. I wholeheartedly agree this is a long season and the Sox will probably get on a hot streak soon, but still, this team is clearly not a playoff-caliber team as constructed. And we don't even have thr prospects really to get a big name and worse yet, we don't have the prospects that can come up and make an immediate impact. I don't know.. it goes both ways with me. I am for one a little upset right now because I tend to think Kenny did not do a good job putting the lineup together so we can compete with the Twins. (most likely a overreaction) I do remember when in 09 the Tigers added Jarrod Washburn, and Kenny went out and got Peavy (2nd time around) and everyone at ST was praising him saying, Kenny hates to lose and he will do anything he can to help us win and he just did. (even though it didn't work out like that)

"Somebody is going to say something, especially when I don't hit," Pierre said. "I learn not to pay attention to it and trust in what I do every day to get prepared. At the end of the year, [success] will be there for me more times than not. "My track record might show up, but if you don't get it done, in this game it's what have you done for me now. Then, as far as my career has gone, if I don't hit, usually stuff happens. With or without the track record, I have to perform to stay in the lineup." Pierre shurgs off Podsednik comparision.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) Wow... He really said that? Oh well... in Kenny I trust. The guy won't just let the team die like that. It's really weird but I was just coming here to post the exact same thing.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) So, is this the Royal "We?" I don't like using it either. My fandom doesn't affect their play on the field one way or another, so I am a spectator - not a direct part of the team. If they want to pay me to be a part of the organization...that's different. But the money we spend on tickets affects the revenue which affects the budged which ultimately affects players contracts and what players are being brought it to compete. Aren't fans a part of the organization because without them, the organization wouldn't be able to exist.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 10:15 PM) He's certainly never going to be Aparicio or Carrasquel or Guillen or Uribe with the glove, but with his bat he would certainly be a force. He is looking amazing at 2B right now, maybe a little work is needed on the DP turn, but his range is awesome. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Let PK walk at the end of this season. He's a pretty average player now who's best days are well behind him. I don't think Angels wants PK anymore, he would have to take a pretty big cut to play anywhere? Is there market for him?

Bunch of White Sox watching the Hawks game live at the United Center. Maybe a day off from baseball will do them good.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) He was talking about who we'd put at 2b in the event of a Ramirez trade. In reality it would be Omar Vizquel. In truth, it should probably by Beckham at SS and Nix at 2b. Reading owns me, but I just mentioned it here because a lot of people like to bring up what if Beckham @ SS -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) I'd just put Beckham at SS. "If Gordon Beckham is back at shortstop we're in big trouble. Missile is a much better SS." - Oz on his infield. -
