Good pitchers can have bad location and movement sometimes, that's no reason for concern.
But the fact that he was throwing in the high 80s and topped out at 92-93 at most worries me.
Peavy's delivery is one that is incredibly hard to watch and mechanically terrible. However, I think the mechanics is what gives him such good movement on his pitches, because he has such intense whip with his arm that creates movement on the ball. If he wants to pitch past his prime, he's going to have to change something or he's not going to get past age 31 or 32.
Whenever you see Jake losing velocity, it might be a big indicator on something being wrong with his arm. He threw with better velocity in his first start against KC last season.
I could be completely wrong, but his next start will be very, very important.
