  1. QUOTE (Ranger @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 06:37 PM) That may very well be true, but Beckham is more valuable at 2B than he is at 3rd. I see what you're saying, but I wouldn't get caught up with the fielding percentage because it won't tell you everything. Most importantly, you have to keep in mind that the guy played 5 different positions last year. I can't imagine an everyday player could ever get comfortable at any spot if he's getting moved around the field so much. A full year at third would probably tell you a different story. Comfort has a lot to do with it. Again, I don't think he's a drastic improvement, but I think he's a little better. Seems like certain guys, Steve Stone, yourself think he is an above average thirdbaseman, while the other half thinks he is absolutely awful. I think he will be alright.
  2. It's funny how those talks with Pods are so back and forth. I still think it might be a stunt for him to lower his demands. Then again Scott in LF doesn't excite me too much.
  3. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) AROUNG? Did Ozzie post this?? typo, don't know how to correct it, sorry.
  4. This is the lines for the rest of the White Sox prospects: Brent Morel: .435/.456/.565/1.020 with 4 BBs / 7 Ks in 62 ABs (4 XBHs: 2 2B, 2 HR) C.J. Retherford: .246/.333/.348/.681 with 7 BBs and 9 Ks in 69 ABs (4 XBHs: 2 3B, 1 HR) Dayan Viciedo: .333/.350/.556/.906 with 1 BB and 6 Ks in 18 ABs (2 XBHs: 1 2B, 1 HR) With a phenomenal closing rush, White Sox prospect Brent Morel ran away with the Arizona Fall League batting championship. The third baseman went 19-for-33 over his final eight games to close at .435 and beat Yankees farmhand Colin Curtis by 38 points. Morel did not join the league until Oct. 26 and did not accumulate enough plate appearances to qualify for the title until the final day. Source: http://soxbronzetitan.wordpress.com/
  5. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 04:34 PM) Teahen in right field. Didn't Kenny said publicly that Teahen is here to play 3rd base. It would be unprofessional to put the guy in RF when he told him he will be playing 3rd base.
  6. I cut the Vizquel part and put it in the appropriate thread. Full article.
  7. I like the move as long as he doesn't play more than 20 games. 1 year deal, if CJ doesn't get moved he plays a year in AAA and is your backup IF next year?
  8. In Europe professional soccer teams give out fines if guys show up out of shape.
  9. Just to clarify is the same exact episode on 9PM EST and 11PM, meaning 8PM and 10PM Chicago time?
  10. Very surprised to see Jared Mitchell so high. Is it not weird that the way CJ Retherford has been hitting the ball lever after lever he is pretty low on that list?
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 02:25 AM) BLAZE or justBLAZE? justBLAZE
  12. Can I please have my username changed from tommy to justBLAZE ?
  13. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 15, 2009 -> 10:57 PM) Why? A pretty good argument could be made that Andrus had a better year given his massive defensive advantage (and positional value in general). There's no doubt that he was worse offensively, but to put up above average offense at SS with excellent defense is a pretty valuable commodity. Beckham had a great year and deserves credit for what he did, but I don't think it's so obvious that he's more deserving that Andrus. I think the reason Beckham won the two rookie awards in the last couple of week is because people realize that he had to play a brand new position, which seems to be underestimated by most. I think it gives him the edge.
  14. I will be pissed if Andrus wins it over Beckham.

    CHONE

If Paulie will be our best offensive player we are in deep s***.
  16. While he is only .335 lifetime OBP guy I think he can solve the leadoff problem while being a huge upgrade at RF, I would look into this for sure if I'm KW.
  17. What a mistake he was, I hate that Swisher trade.
  18. White Sox full spring training schedule.
  19. I find it weird that Kenny actually said 'we've been observing this guy for the last couple of years' is that a standard line of his that comes with every trade? I mean unless there's something we don't know observing him for the last couple of years wouldn't convince me to trade for the guy.
  20. Read it here. EDIT: I noticed the same post in the Sox Meetings thread, I feel like it deserves its own thread, move accordingly.
