  1. Ken Rosenthal just said he thinks White Sox have better chance at making the playoffs than the Cubs.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) It still hasn't healed from last year? Not sure but yes it is the same thumb. Day to Day for now, but Garfien said maybe a DL stint is necessary.
  3. They are gonna see how Paulie feels tomorrow.
  4. Paulie has been playing with a loose ligament in his thumb for a while. Fields will be at 1st for tomorrow.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) No, Plantar Fasciitis is in the foot. Labrum is in your shoulder. That is my fault. I mean to say torn tendon.
  6. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 05:16 PM) # KW said Ozzie's timetable on Quentin is off, and the outfielder should be back quicker than Guillen thinks.10 minutes ago from txt Smoke screen.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) An awful lot of guys have grown out of their "Injury prone" phase too. Carlos's body/swing are sort of unique in how much he uses his upper body compared to his legs. His upper body is ridiculously strong. I could see his shoulders or even his wrists winding up being longer-term problems for him because of how he swings...but Plantar Fasciitis...now that just seems darn freaky. In reply to your previous post ya seems like Brian will be playing for now, but we get to deal with Wise too. Talking about the injury, does 'torn labrum' have anything to do with Plantar Fasciitis?
  8. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) Stop suckin' up to the mods, tommy. LOL. Let's sink and get BRYCE HARPER next year. In
  9. This is really bad news but I think even worse news is AL Central being so 'mediocre' this year. With us still quite possibly being 'in it' the team has to do good and maybe Carlos can come back by ASB, without being actually healthy. I posted similar response in the game thread but the next couple of days will determine how this plays out. If we look to be out of it by the end of the month, they should shut down Carlos Quentin and start the youth movement, and getting this team set up to win in 2010.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) Two more losses, and I wonder if CQ gets surgery on his foot. The recent Cowley information about CQ, located in the thread about his health, is awful! 2009 has just been a disasterous season for him. I'm the last one that would want our team to loose on purpose for a draft pick or anything like that but... I think with this situation and current roster there is little chance we can compete for this division. There's no reason by sorta in it to rush CQ when he's not healthy. I say let's start the youth movement, let CQ heal, and come back full force next year, while allowing the kids to get used to majors and also be part of next year's squad. With that said I always will cheer the Sox on to win.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Updated the thread title. Thank you.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) This is a very telling post and something that I think we need to make a thread on. Speaking of which, when is the ASB? July 13 HR Derby, July 14 All Star Game, July 15 and 16 no games. EDIT: Mods might want to change the thread title, to point people's attention to this msg.
  13. From Cowley on Quentin: Quentin wants to be back before All-Star Break. Ozzie said very unlikely. There's also a chance Quentin could be shut down all year. If the Sox are out of it post All-Star, Guillen said why should they put Quentin out there. KW said Ozzie's timetable on Quentin is off, and the outfielder should be back quicker than Guillen thinks. From Cowley in other news: KW and Fields talked. Kenny GM offered very little details. Make that no details. Williams and Frank Thomas shook hands and may have finally patched things up. Thomas has plans to interview him for Sox-Cubs. Kenny also said if team doesn't pick it up, decisions will have to be made.
  14. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 03:07 PM) I'll be in attendance tonight...which is a bad sign this year. What is Old Home Night? White Sox promotional schedule says it is Blues Night. I was going by Scott Reifert's tweet. AS IN msg via www.twitter.com
  15. QUOTE (Getupstretch39 @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 02:41 PM) Off topic- I love Hawk but I'm not really a fan of his new double "yessss" call....anyone else like it? Yup, let's start 'drop the second yes' campaign.
  16. Today is the day Quentin should be available. Hawk and Stoney kept on saying last week how he should be ready to go, until that article in the Trib. Bummer. Frank Thomas and Robin Ventura in the house, for Old Home Night
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) Jared Mitchell has no business being up in September. How many minor league games would he play? 5? Damn I like prospectes too but some just go DRAT Happy. Geez people he just got drafted few hours ago, no he won't be here in September.
  18. Ozzie said he wanted to face Granderson, because he knows Polanco is their most dangerous hitter. FWIW
  19. I still think Kenny will let this team compete till the end of June. Unless we're out 10 sooner than that. Danks vs Verlander Floyd vs Jackson Two huge games coming up.
  20. Jermaine wants to win this game. Sick catch, hope hes ok.
  21. I guess we're gonna have to walk them off in the extras, break their hearts again
