  1. When Yankees signed AROD last year, didn't they deal only with the player and skipped Boras throughout the negotiations? I hope Angels make a move for Paulie. How sure are we that Figgins can play CF, I thought he was a 3B ?
  2. Who ever said it will be busy couple of days here... Well I wish. It was a long week for sure.
  3. They keep on playing 2004 World Series Film which focuses mostly on Red Sox - Yankees ALCS. I'm trying to watch the 2005 one!
  4. Does the 2005 Video come after 2004 one?
  5. Just saw that on ESPN, so who is it gonna be? Angels, Nats, Yanks?
  6. Red Sox seem to be favorite in the Texiera race, so Angels might be trying to get Paulie.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 06:56 PM) By not signing with the Dodgers...we're likely to get a second round or sandwich pick, because all the teams interested are between 1-15 in first round, and they can't give up such high draft picks for signing Type A's. Exactly what i had in mind my friend! I don't dislike Cabrera but I had Furcal penciled in for Braves and OCAB with Dodgers so we can get their picks.
  8. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 10:03 AM) I like your thinking, and that would be a great team, but I don't see Roberts getting traded. I guess Orioles pulled out of the Texieira sweepstakes, they might as well try to rebuild and give up Roberts before he becomes FA.
  9. Cabrera screwed us after all. Does anyone care to explain what picks would the Sox get if he signed with either A's or Royals?
  10. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 02:38 AM) So she goofed up by sending the text to her Dad and she's 18 and having sex. I'd say nowadays most dads would be glad if their daughter made it to 18 without giving up the cookies. What's the huge deal? True story.
  11. If Furcal goes to ATL, it's probably between Dodgers and A's for Cabrera.

    Whopper Virgins

Whenever getting a Whopper one needs to get it OB = OFF BROIL World of difference.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 04:43 PM) This makes no sense unless the Braves are going to acquire Peavy. I know one thing, I'd absolutely love to have Escobar and I'd trade Dye straight up for him (simply because I value middle infielders with his ability and upside). And no way is Furcal going to play 2B. Imagine this fellow Cuban Chicago White Sox infield of Ramirez/Escobar ! Can he play 2B ? I doubt it will happen but let me dream.
  14. I guess I will take Taveras over Owens.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 14, 2008 -> 11:07 PM) Really inexcusable to have this lineup combined with our likely 4/5 of Richard and Marquez. That's all that needs to be said. I really don't like it as much as the next guy, but Ozzie wanting Getz to be 9th batter solves the other thread mystery, "number #2 hitter", it won't be Getz.
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 14, 2008 -> 10:47 PM) This organization is just too in love with Owens. I don't mind him as much as some here, but I can see him getting the job easily unless BA hits out of his mind in spring training. Depending if the sox just get pitching and/or hitting The best thing that might happen to BA and possibly this organization is if Dye is traded and let Owens be the LF (but I'm sure Ozzie will probably stick BA in LF and Owens in CF on certain games of course.) Lets say Getz wins 2B out of spring training. Ozzie said he is batting 9th. That is why Jerry Owens will start over BA, because Jerry Owens is a leadoff hitter, BA is not. Of course one trade could change all of this but as we stand and what I can say from this article this is 2009 lineup: Owens CF AJP C Quentin LF Dye RF Thome DH Konerko 1B Ramirez SS Fields 3B Getz 2B
  17. QUOTE (chunk23 @ Dec 13, 2008 -> 02:08 PM) Where do they even slot Lillibridge to play? 2B/SS ?
  18. Speaking of Tigers they just got Edwin Jackson from the Rays.
  19. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 10:00 PM) For better or worse, the Sox have been one of the best run teams in terms of finances in the JR era. I hear so are the Bulls.
  20. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) if the payroll is now at 82 million....thats about a 30% reduction in payroll. seems very odd for a large market team. i guess they see bas numbers with this new economy. But why is the White Sox the only organization (maybe besides the Padres, mentioned above) which is doing this? You know Yankees are gonna spend a bunch, Cubs payroll is suppose to hit $140 mil this year.
  21. QUOTE (quickman @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) ding ding, and plan for 2010. I will go with that one, and if thats the case then Dye will be moved either now or during the year. Its not that bad of a strategy. Most people around here love to see the kids play. Now everyone has there chance. I'd love me a Ray/Twin like (excuse me for the Twins reference) group of youngsters who play their heart out to win, but let's be honest here, I wanna compete next year. If no changes are made, I hope the youngsters will prove me wrong. From Cowley: Ozzie on Swisher: "I take the blame for Nick Swisher." Whatever that means.
  22. I think Ozzie is talking to press as we speak down in Las Vegas: Ozzie on Viciedo: "Viciedo has got to lose some weight."
  23. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) furcal would be SS and leadoff, alexei stays at 2b. somebody keeps 3B warm until beckham comes up. sounds pretty easy to me. It makes too much sense for it to happen.
