  1. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 12:09 PM)
I really like Colby Rasmus. If the Sox acquire him, I think there must be another deal in the works because that leaves them with too many outfielders this year and next year.

Quentin and Viciedo could make a pretty studly offensive OF, but Rios & Rasmus would really improve the OF defense.

Have you seen Rasmus play CF? Kinda hit or miss at times. Bad jumps etc.

  2. Only if you start another Anderson/Wise or The Legend of Aaron Rowand thread :lolhitting

Geez, my bad. I didn't realize you were purposly trying to spread the conversation over multiple threads. Can I start another thread for Hudson vs. Jackson too?

Its not about individual players. Its about championships. Kenny has one. Another one and he will be even smarter and craftier and any other adjective you want to use.

If he does hopefully get another ring, some people will still b**** that he sucks, lol

Wait, are you telling me that Paul Konerko's family doesn't live in Chicago? (immediate, wife and children) I don't believe that.

If he has school age children, it's more than believable.

  6. AdamKilgoreWPDon't completely rule out Cliff Lee signing with the Nats, or team and agent continuing dialogue. The 7-year offer, though, won't be made

About that buzz that the #Nats are going to throw seven years at Cliff Lee? "Not happening," a team source said. http://wapo.st/hEUMdC

It would be surprising if Putz signs elsewhere, I really think oz is going to give him the chance to close here. This could be a media ploy.

Time for Kenny to get creative.

  8. lol

also see the over/under (assuming Paulie is resigned) about the slowness in the middle of the lineup: 50.5

over/under on the number of times people say that Dunn isn't clutch next year = 47.5

WHITE SOX DECLINE TO TENDER 2011 CONTRACTS TO

    BOBBY JENKS AND ERICK THREETS

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have declined to tender 2011 contracts to right-handed pitcher Bobby Jenks and left-hander Erick Threets.

Jenks, 29, went 1-1 with a career-high 4.44 ERA (26 ER/52.2 IP), 27 saves and 61 strikeouts in 55 games with the White Sox in 2010. He missed the final 27 games of the season due to ulnar neuritis in his right forearm.

Originally claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels on December 17, 2004, Jenks was 14-18 with a 3.40 ERA (129 ER/341.2 IP), 334 strikeouts and 173 saves in six seasons with the Sox. He ranks second in franchise history in saves.

Threets, 29, was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA (12.1 IP) in 11 relief appearances with the Sox last season before suffering a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow on August 27 vs. the Yankees. He was signed by Chicago as a free agent on December 11, 2009.
