  1. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 05:31 PM) I'd take it There would have to be significant $$ going to PITT and I'm not sure Rick would do that right now. Considerations is a bigtime debate in the offices...almost more than target players right now.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 05:34 PM) Anything new you're hearing Bucket? Thank you in advance. Love hearing what you have to say. Sox have been VERY active, but are playing the market patiently.
  3. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 04:44 PM) Agreed if the sox kick in serious money and Ramirez and Rios head over to the pirates this is the type of return I would love to see: Gregory Polanco - If the sox are kicking in serious $$ he better be coming back. He looks the part of a potential 5 tool talent that can handle CF, He just transitioned to AA so if the sox aquire him i wouldn't expect to see him at earliest june/july of next year more probably a sept. call up and starting in '15 Tyler Glasnow - This kid is on some major helium, one of those high school arms with the tag projectability written all over their scouting report that is actually taking his raw tools and turing them into skills, far enough away in a deep pirate system that they could move him. Jin-De Jhang - Gives us a good looking catching prospect a bit away, while we find out what we have in Phegley and Flowers. Andrew Lambo - Could very well a potent OF bat, He was once the top prospect in the dodgers system and lost a lot of his shine; he isn't going to get his shot on the pirates and he is still age appropriate for AAA. He would come up immediately and take over for Rios. So far at AAA he is putting up this line .279/.356/.574 with 9HR(23 on the year). Victor Black - former 1st round pick had some injury issues and got pushed into the bullpen but has taken well to the role, looks to be a future set up man sitting in AAA again a piece a contending team doesn't have time to develop at the major league level. This package is not gonna happen. Polanco is likely not going anywhere. Rios + Alexei + $$ is gonna get you something like: Josh Bell, Tyler Glasnow & (maybe) Clay Holmes but (more likely) Adrian Sampson.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 10:40 PM) Thanks for all the info bucket. I'm sure you're putting yourself/a relationship at risk by sharing and we all appreciate it. Thanks Jake. Only for you guys...
  5. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) Davidson would be my dream return. Owings is legit. Trahan is interesting too. Lots of good stuff in that system. Sox still love Holmberg and have reacquired their "guys" before.
  6. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 09:38 PM) Bucket, can a package of Peavy and Crain net Davidson, Owings and a 2 others? What you think? Possibly, but both Jake and Crain would have to prove they are truly healthy. Crain is a huge unknown but if he returns to form he's a HUGE chip at the deadline. Az loves Davidson. He'd be a tough pull.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 09:26 PM) Have you heard of any specific players the Sox might be targeting in a return for guys like Peavy or Rios? I'm working on it. I've got a few names, none of which suprised me. Despite what you've heard, they want 1) High-ceiling low level or 2) Impact, close to league ready Guys I know they've asked for: Pit - Hanson, Polanco Tex - Sardinas, Font Az - Eaton, Holmberg, Owings
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) I love hearing that because the DBacks have the position player prospects that the Sox are looking for. And I've said that is the most logical place for Peavy to land. Rick has definitely been talking to Towers who is a big fan of Jake and is his former GM in S.D. There's also the Barry Axelrod connection (Jake's former rep.) who now works for the D-Backs.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) He's too risky an acquisition for a GM. Rios is the kind of player who can get a GM fired. My guess is we can't move him unless it's for 2 really really fringe prospects. Agreed bucket of suck? I wouldn't say that. It's just not nearly the value the media is presenting. That could change though.
  10. Best news I was told is that Rick is definitely willing to send $ in the right deal to improve the return.
  11. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) Anything new on any of this? I'm fiending. The market for Rios is really weak right now.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 11:17 PM) What teams is Hahn listening to for Sale? What names have been discussed? What players out of favor? I don't have much more info right now. I usually get more as the deadline gets closer.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) DeAza and Flowers might be two of them for the last category. Maybe Ramirez or Viciedo, although they seem to be doing everything possible to get Dayan to come back around and be productive. Possibly Keppinger. I have a feeling it's Alexei and DeAza. That closed door meeting was Rick getting RV's thoughts on the current roster and the coming shakeup.
  14. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) When do you guys think the first move is? Here's what I've been told...(one source), FWIW - Close on a couple deals (real names exchanged) - Sale is not untouchable - Several guys are on their way out just to be gone (out of favor with RV)
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 02:07 PM) J-Phegs is a beast. All time worst haircut though. Haha.
  16. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) Update? I can't watch the game at work. Just walking benches and nothing but talk. Nothing to see here but stupid Tigers baseball per usual.
  17. Love how Stone works in these situations. Hawk is a blow-hard, but Stone is analyzing the sh*t out of the situation. Really great stuff.
  18. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 01:56 PM) Leyland blowing a gasket hahahah Go have a smoke and a beer, Jim.
  19. All you need to know about this roster is not one player was even close to defending Alexei in any potential brawl. All coaches.
  20. Enough already. Can somebody get the Adam Dunn value debate 'the hell outta the Alex Rios trade thread?
  21. Peavy: "I want to pitch in Chicago and want the games to be meaningful." Still realizes he could be dealt.” If by meaningful you mean a trade-showcase, then you're on, Jake-meister.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 08:37 PM) If the Cardinals want to give you Taveras, Adams, Carlos Martinez, Wong and Rosenthal for Sale and Alexei, I would say yes OMG, Yes please. That deal would transform the franchise potentially...
