  1. QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 1, 2013 -> 09:57 PM) Was that purposely? - serious question For sure.
  2. AJ will be swinging 1st pitch heat so they should start off-speed damnit.
  3. Melton on these webcasts is just an embarrassment. It's like listening to Drunk Uncle from SNL.
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 02:42 PM) Hell of a job by Troncoso. As much as I loathe Beckham with the stick, he is smooth with the glove... Beckham just looks ridiculous at the plate and not just because of his new ass-out stance. He epitomizes tension and trying too hard to hit.
  5. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) Haha I forgot to read the thread title and started reading the article. My first thought was "A scout says 100 losses....is that the same guy who said that last year? Didn't he learn his lesson?" HaHa Scotty. Seriously, KW made some bold statements in support of his squad and was proven pretty accurate. I like it.

  7. QUOTE (floridafan @ Feb 25, 2013 -> 07:25 AM) When you grip the bat too tightly you slow down your hands, your ability to make late adjustments as well as your batspeed. A loose soft grip up until the bat is in the hitting zone is the feel a hitter should want. Relaxed. That's not what he meant by "strong". It's a reference to position ala golf.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 03:30 PM) At least Cubs didn't win today The Tigers won the World Series today but Selig is forcing them to play out the 2013 season.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) If you're Hahn and you're relying on the catching position for increased contact rate, then you've clearly ignored the team's hitting problems. Juan Pierre had good contact rate, yet he's long gone. I think you need gap power in USCF - not just dink and dunk hitters - to succeed. As it looks now, I think that the lack of contact IS one of this team's glaring hitting problems. It's not so much a reliance on Flowers for contact, it's that he is replacing AJ who was one of the very few hitters in that lineup that consistently put the ball in play.
  10. The issue with Cole Tyler Flowers is that while he may be a decent catcher as far as an MLB average goes, offensively he may be a bad fit for THIS team going forward. His contact rate is low and that is once again looking like a prevalent issue for White Sox hitters on the current roster and definitely throughout the system. Rick is aware of this and Keppinger is a good indication of his approach which I think is good sign. The lack of quality contact hitters in the Sox minors is terrifying.
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 12:49 AM) Oh ok, cool. I didn't know your connection. How often do those people give you information that actually happens? Have you ever scooped anything here before? I know that K0na guy in Twitter has a history of good info, I'm wondering what your track record has been. Must be really hard to have to bit your tongue around people. The info I get is real. It's almost always advanced discussions but once it gets to a certain stage, I'm out. I've never really scooped a deal, but I've known of a few before they were public. That line is so blurred these days it's crazy. I still think Rock and doc are the best sources around here.
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:40 PM) Bucket, if anyone guessed it, would you tell us? And what's your history with being a source? I don't pay attention enough to what members say what to remember. I don't mean to come off like a coy jerk, but I really can't just announce exactly what I've been told but I do put it out there. I think most on here want to know if something is going on and the discussions are always quality. I'm not really a source but I know a few people in the extended F.O. and they text me updates every so often. Most of the time they shut me down, LOL.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) So who is they mystery "lefty impact bat" that the Sox want to add? Cano? Mauer? FWIW...Talks progressing for a guy that's been on the short wishlist lately. Conflicting make up concerns but when healthy, dude can slug and plays the game KW "tough". Deal has a good chance as of yesterday. Some risk but could be an impact move. Corresponding move(s) likely required which is the hold up.
  14. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) BREAKING: Royals acquire James Shields and Wade Davis from TB for Wil Myers and other prospects. Insane KC overpay
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 08:35 PM) What happened to the 1st round draft pick the division rival were non-tendering the Sox were suppose to sign? I said "the team was considering the pick that may be be non-tendered" but it's fun to pretend I didn't, isn't it?
  16. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 07:34 PM) Bigger than what? Jack freaking Hannahan
  17. Sox are targeting a much bigger impact bat right now.
  18. Not sure why everyone is so certain Keppinger is the full time 3B. Perhaps he was signed to be a supersub while KennyHahn chases an impact player nobody thinks we can acquire...
  19. The Sox are aiming higher than Jack Hanahan right now for 3B. Lots of plates spinning tonight.
