By the way, we are not going to Cleveland. They are coming here.
Not a good thing. The Sox literally have a much better chance of taking 2 of 3 in CLE.
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 05:13 PM)
You're right, that rotation isn't all that much after Verlander.
Glad to read the Sox took fielding practice over hitting practice today. Good call, Ozzie.
After Verlander that rotation is garbage.
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 04:25 PM)
Watch AJ, Pierre or Paulie.
They'll have to take anything pitched on the outside half of the plate (80% of his pitches) and take it to the opposite field.
Chen is a little bit similar to Tommy Glavine in the last five years of his career.
Beckham is so 0-fer tonight. He'll give us that awesome one armed flail at the slow down and away change-up.
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 12:35 PM)
Same thing that happened to Arrieta and most of their pitching propects. Remember Mazzone's reputation? He didn't have much luck fixing any of them, did he? Bedard was about the only good hurler they had.
Which team is the Angry Birds? Cardinals after this week?
Tillman has been pitching well lately. I think the Sox will have trouble with him tonight...
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 12:50 PM)
Maybe Dunn can hit Tillman? Regardless a win will be super and 6-1 on the road trip is OK too
Dunn couldn't hit water if he fell out of a f*cking boat.
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 08:15 PM)
Frasor or sale for the 8th
Better not be Thornton. I do NOT trust him. So of course it'll be Thornton to blow it.
Sale has been awesome this should be HIS time.
Zach was VERY impressive against The Twins tonight. Loved it when he struck out Mauer at 94mph and Kubel with 95mph gas. Very poised and went right after them. Great debut.
Other than :
Mis-reading balls off the bat
Taking incorrect routes
Acquiescing to infielders on CF plays
Pulling up short on the warning track (fear of the wall)
Mis-timing jumps at the wall
Overthrowing the cutoff man
Throwing to the wrong base allowing runner to advance, ......he's doing great out there.
QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 02:31 PM)
As August rolls into September for the final month of this agony (If and only if this happens where we continue to be a bucket of suck offensively) will we be reviving the Dunn retire thread and hope to God Rios is put on waivers?
Huh? What? I resemble that remark...
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:40 PM)
Way too much reliance by some people on here of guys like Dunn and Rios turning their seasons around after they haven't shown one sign of life all season. The season will be over for the Sox by Sunday, and then we'll have to pray for some waiver deals.
Spot on Fathom as usual. +1

Not in the least. I just remember you as being one of the ultra-optimistic posters only a few weeks ago
Don't remind me. This past trade deadline just truly disgusted me. This roster is loaded with corpses for years to come and there was a rare opportunity to truly impact that future.
