  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) Smells like trouble. DP coming here.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Teahen did everything right he possibly could on that play, Jackson just BARELY beat it out. Huge inning for Peavy here to get through still scoreless for the Tiggers. Tigers look desperate and antsy up there.
  3. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Jackson, Thornton, and de aza for rasmus? He is in the lineup for stl tonight tho That would be a crazy overpay, IMO.
  4. When KW makes moves, he doesn't wait to the deadline of he doesn't have to. I think EJAX & Thornton are moving this week.
  5. Anybody hear how brutal Peavy's numbers become after 70 pitches this season? Something like .485 BAA. Dealing or not, Ozzie gotta bring Humber in tonight if Jake starts struggling.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) Alexei's been crap at the plate since June. Including last night when he drove in the tying run with 2 outs.
  7. This team is deathly afraid of adding on runs.
  8. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) MikeSolarte Mike Solarte Folks with @KnightsBaseball say DeAza being recalled to big club. Reason not known, but good for him. Was hitting .322 in CLT #WhiteSox 7 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply THANK THE LORD! Kid should'a been up here at least a month ago.
  9. So, the question is,...does acquiring Rasmus fall into a "buyers" or "sellers" category for the White Sox...? I suppose it depends on who they give up.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) jcrasnick Jerry Crasnick Some baseball execs think Colby Rasmus & BJ Upton are better offseason trade candidates because universe of suitors would be larger #trades Both players have talent, but are they going to be "impact'' bats for contenders in a pennant race? #rays #stlcardinals #trades Thanks for working all these tweets into this thread BTW. It makes it so easy to stay up to date.
  11. Buster_ESPN Buster Olney No matter what happens with Colby Rasmus in the next five days, he's been devalued by the events of the last 10 days. It's too bad. How has he been devalued? He's playing pretty well?!
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) His avatar makes that post funny. "less" torture...?
  13. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 02:09 PM) I didn't realize how Dunn-like Gordo has been against lefties this year. Ouch. Yep. The entire team is essentially crap against LHP...The Tigers however, are NOT. So let's shift the rotation in order to throw BOTH our LHP in this series. I swear this team is run by idiots.
  14. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 12:13 PM) Please don't tell me Below is a soft tossing lefty??? Let's just thank the baseball gods the guy doesn't have a change-up. If so, it's night night time.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 01:20 PM) Dunn Cleanup against a LHP with a 93 mph fastball. Again Rios ahead of AJ. Disgusting.
  16. So it's a rookie left-hander we've never seen before. I've actually seen this dude pitch. He throws hard but has control problems. I wish I could say the Sox will have no problems with him but as we all know this team has no concept of advance scouting.
  17. There is a lot of over-valuing of Rasmus happening here and a primary factor is he cost-controlled? While that is important, if you have to cite that as a primary positive you don't trade premier pitching like Thornton and the recent E-JAX for the guy.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) The deal could make the Sox better this year. Right now Rios/Dunn have been bad. If you bring in Rasmus he can play CF (Rios gets more days off) and some days you can have Rios in RF with CQ DH (Dunn gets more days off). You also can try and play match ups more etc. Jackson has definitely been solid, but the Sox need to score more runs consistently if they want to win. +1. Good post.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) I thought this was especially interesting considering the current White Sox fan debate over coaching. From espn.com: Cardinals manager Tony La Russa has lost faith in Rasmus, in part for his tendency to use outside coaching help for his hitting. Yeah, well I'd look elsewhere too if my "hitting coach" was history's biggest roid-fraud.
  20. How hard will Rongey drive home this was some kind of "gift" win in the post-game show? He's such a negative nancy.
