Optioned back to Charlotte. Clearly a bad fit as he actually had good at-bats and was productive as a hitter. This organization is a disgrace to logic.

Our latest lead off hitter, ladies and gentleman.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) Would you accept a job for 1/3-1/2 of what you thought you were worth if you didn't have to? Dye's production the in the second half last year was worth an 1/8th of what he thinks he's worth for a full season.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) Ha, ok. Dye cannot play anywhere on the field other than 1B, he an aging past his prime player with barely enough value to be on a roster according to every team in the league. Has everyone forgotten about Dye claiming hitting .175 in 80+games was because the Sox "replaced" him with Rios?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) Good thing we're not in last place! Yeah. Whatever.

mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7739931&topic_id=7417714 This us against the world, we're gonna tell you how we feel, we do it our way ...cr.ap just looks ridiculous when you are a last place team. Ozzie's act is so tired these days it's unreal.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 09:10 AM) Anyone have thoughts on the Dye article in the Sun Times today? "Where would he play?" seems appropriate. No. NO. NOOOO!

QUOTE (hogan873 @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) Let's see if Freddy can perform after normal rest between starts. See the Toronto game earlier in the season to find out. -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) I would like to see this lineup from now on from Ozzie, and this is not unrealistic by any means. 1. LF Pierre 2. 2B Beckham 3. DH Jones 4. 1B Konerko 5. 3B Teahen 6. CF Rios 7. RF Quentin 8. C Pierzynski 9. SS Ramirez Please drop A.J. down and stop wasting Teahen's bat. This way, your 3-6 has 4 bats that are posting OPS above .850 with a decent bat in Quentin and then a big black hole of A.J., Alexei, and Pierre. It's not like those guys were going to hit anyways. Why sandwich them in between guys who are hitting? Swap Quentin for Rios and I'll bet that's exactly what we're gonna see in Texas.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 02:09 PM) Lopez with a Twins-like blooper. Sweeney swinging that "magic wand against us"

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) I cannot stand watching AJ anymore. Absolutely worthless so far this year. Quentin looks like he changed his stance, and it makes it seem even harder for him to get a hit. Ugh, another first inning where we should have gotten more runs. Yeah Quentin raised his back elbow quite a bit. Looks awkward as hell and the point of it was to avoid hitting a ground ball to the left side....
-
Ans so Ozzie's refusal to move the two worst hitters in the lineup down right now likely costs the Sox at least a run...
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 01:00 AM) Guys, Sox are on pace to hit 343.5 (Alexei's robbed double?) this year. And we think this is a bad offense. It's not a bad offense, it's a TERRIBLE offense.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 09:58 AM) since i will be at the game, i checked and its supposed to be light rain after 2pm.. Looks like the weather will be playable...

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) What are the chances this one gets played? Jeremy Piven said on Twitter he was throwing out the first pitch, barring a postponement. Will his hairpiece be attending?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 07:05 AM) Again? Seriously? Walk-offs? I'll take it. Here we go again... GO YOU WHITE SOX!!! Use the broom, D1. lineups: What's wrong with this picture? Pierre, LF Beckham, 2B Jones, DH Konerko, 1B Pierzynski, C Quentin, RF Rios, CF Teahen, 3B Ramirez, SS

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) This. Should be booed MUCH more than AJ gets booed at other places. AJ should be booed more here than anywhere right now.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) How bout this being a game thread tonight. This board is dead. I watched the first half of the game. To me, Peavy looked bad. I didn't sense he had zip on his fastball. Did you all? He didn't attack any hitters. Way too many walks, yuk. Six hits for the punchless wonders?? Such dismal offense. Nice to see Teahen go deep. No other highlights. I personally don't know what I'd do if I was Oz except pick our nine best guys and play them EVERY DAY. Other than that, I guess just hope April was the bad month we got out of the way early. Any general comments on this game tonight? Peavy was clocked at 95mph several times tonight.
-
Well, Ozzie's press conference was very telling. He looks exhausted and completely out of ideas. After only 16 games, he's lost his team. He used his last card and that's calling his team out for the media. "I already feel like I need a goddamned All Star break. They should be embarrassed with the way they play. People sit in the freezing cold and freeze their asses off to watch this team." ...blah...blah...blah, Oz. We all see through your BS these days. This team is full of veterans and these statements are gonna have as much effect as you telling them to "play loose out there tomorrow" did tonight. To have the manager get to this point after only two weeks of games is unreal and really indicates just how f*&%ked up this team is already. Big Frank was on to comment and he said "the locker room was dead this afternoon. These guys are really down." So, much like this team never steps up and makes a run when trailing within a game, as of now don't look for them to have any idea how to make a run at a winning streak within the season.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) Alexei Ramirez confused on a relay? Say it ain't so! The Sox were in the Thome shift. Teahen was technically the cut off as he was the only fielder on the left side of the infield. -

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) I know the horse is dead and the corpse (and my hands) is bloody as hell, but... Alexei sucks bad right now and should get an extended rest on the pine. Alexei saved the game last night when he denied Wells a 2-run single... -

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) second. BTW, the last time Peavy allowed 7+ runs, he gave up 8 in four innings against AZ back in 2007...He was the best pitcher on the planet that season. -
Give the dude a break. Some of the best pitchers in baseball are getting lit up all over baseball in the first week. Jake's first start was decent and tonight he just didn't have it. He's fine. He's not a freaking robot. And if the AL is suddenly too much for him how did he dominate at 80% health with a 3-0 1.35 ERA against KC and a Tigers team twice that was fighting for their season last year?

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) Hopefully Alex has a big series. Judging by how much of a headcase he was last season I wouldn't count on it.
