  1. Callis replied to my tweet and said he doesn't think Hoese will get to the Sox at #45.
  2. What was the significance of the library scene then? Watch this undetectable girl be detected? I'm far from the only one who has questioned her ease of putting herself in that position to kill the Night King without anyone noticing. There is a huge GoT fanboy at work who answers questions for me and he even thought it was a bit weak to allow him to be so vulnerable.
  3. So the White Walkers can move extremely fast and completely overcome enemies with no regard to their wellbeing.....unless they need to fight a main character, then they can one by one stand in a circle and get chopped down by Jon Snow or the dragon lady and her guard? And what the fuck was Jon Snow doing just giving himself up to be killed by the dragon? And they JUST demonstrated that the white walkers are extremely sensitive to sound in that library scene. Now all the sudden Arya can run through all of them undetected and kill the biggest villain in the show? I dunno man, for a show that people hype up as being the greatest ever, I was surprised how often that episode fell in to the same old dumb threads as any other lollipop battle scene or network TV show. And how the hell did those people NOT think that hiding in a crypt among the dead MIGHT be a bad idea when the guy coming in to your castle has his entire lore built on being able to raise people from the dead? I dunno man, the scene with the zombies laying their bodies across the fire to build a bridge over it was legit awesome and clever, but most of the rest of it was a big eyeroll for me. And lastly, I REALLY thought the Night King was going to kneel down before Bran. They both looked at each other like they were intimately familiar with each other and Bran didn't looked nervous or scared. Would have been a cool twist. Also, if you are going to have a guy who can watch the entire battlefield at once through aerial views from birds, don't you want that guy near someone in command who can change battle plans? I get he was used as bait, but it's not like they seemed to have a real plan to kill the Knight King once he actually took the bait.
  4. Drey Jameson went 7 IP tonight, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 12 K. Now up to 104 K and 22 BB in 66 IP.
  5. Assuming Manny gets a shot at the rotation now.
  6. No, he was their Saturday starter I believe.
  7. Fuck I had no idea this happened. Watching the video of it now. He pretty much immediately bursts in to tears. Awful.
  8. W-S for confidence boost, since there is a chance he's mentally fragile.
  9. Also, Captain Phasma is so totally dying. That whole scene with her getting knighted made my girlfriend cry, so it must have been an enormous moment for her character, which obviously translates to a swan song as a lot of you have pointed out.
  10. So did Bran say he wanted to essentially be bait for the Night King because of theory that he IS the Night King and the characters need to think Bran died so he can use his powers for the Night King? Still don't really understand how his super powers work, but his quick interest to volunteer to be bait for the guy everyone is shitting themselves about seemed a bit strange to me, like he has other plans for it.
  11. Combined Hoese went 5-10, HR, 2 2B, 5 RBI. Up to .415 with 20 HR, 15 2B, and 17 K.
  12. Drey Jameson up to #49 and Hoese up to #54.
  13. Tulane will play a DH tomorrow. I imagine Hoese will hit 2-3 bombs.
  14. Drey Jameson pitched 5 IP today (rain) and allowed 0 R on 1 H, 2 BB, and 9 K vs. Miami (OH). That puts his season total at 89 Ks in 57 IP with 20 BB and 46 H.
  15. I can't find my post about it a while ago, but Andrew Vaughn in 2018 was the first college player since Anthony Rendon in 2010 to have more HR than strikeouts in a season. Vaughn won't even come close to that this year as he only has 10 HR (2 in the last 30 days) and 23 K's. So far, Kody Hoese is the only college player who is doing it so far this season with 19 HR to 17 K. Jim Callis mentioned he might even end up having his DOUBLES pass that K number, as he has 13 2B right now. You can follow that compelling race, here - http://www.thebaseballcube.com/college/stats.asp?Q=Y&Report=Batting&Y1=2019&Y2=2019&minPA=&Player=&Sort=HR&Conf=&School=&Bat=&Conditions=
  16. I wonder if Kody Hoese is playing himself out of consideration at #45 for the Sox. He is a local kid from Griffith, IN who is now at Tulane and leading the country in HRs. He's up to 19 dingers, .409 AVG, and only 17 K's to go along with 25 BB and 13 2Bs. My cousin knows him from HS and told me about him a few weeks ago, but I also heard Jim Callis mention him on the latest MLB Pipeline podcast as someone who he feels is a RD 1 or RD 2 type guy, but he thinks even saying RD2 might be underselling him giving his soaring stock. And I guess it's not just power, he's a great overall hitter with a great approach and swing and I think Callis said he should be able to stick at 3B. Comparing his numbers to Hunter Bishop, for reference, he is hitting .409 to Bishop's .394, has 2 more HR, and is striking out nearly half as often (29 K for Bishop, 17 for Hoese). Could be the 2nd best 3B in the country. Wonder if he will be there at #45, but he might be a name to watch.
  17. Juan Soto was also a part of a Nats team that was good and needed the boost. Robert soaring through the minors would make the Sox better and give them a boost. But a boost to what, 77 wins? No point. Under no realistic circumstance so I want to see Luis Robert in Chicago in 2019. Save that service time, call him up next April. At least there won't be backlash about it considering he started 2019 in A-ball.
  18. Fuck I forgot to record this. Only catching the 2nd half of the episode now. I love Jeopardy!. I just to record it until it absolutely dominated my DVR and I couldn't keep up.
  19. Ok ok, so I had seen 2 episodes way back in an earlier season where some blind kid was controlling ghost wolves with his mind. Was that Bran? Maybe he wasn't blind, but his eyes were completely white in that scene. The actor who plays Bran was on Jimmy Kimmel last night and Jimmy brought up the fan theory of him being the Night King, so I guess it's a pretty popular theory and the guy at work isn't as clever as I thought.
  20. The trailer for Jedi: Fallen Order looks great. Man, the work they do to map Cameron Monaghan in to the game is pretty incredible. He's so easily recognizable to those of us who watch Shameless and probably even Gotham.
  21. Hey man, a guy at work who watches the show says he thinks the wheel chair kid is going to win it all too because he thinks he is actually the white walker king. Said he could time travel, which I don't really understand how time traveling allows for him to shape-shift, but he was pretty excited about the theory so I just nodded.
