The only reason I *might* believe him is that he is a Yankees fan, so making up a rumor that he is going to the Sox is weird and would make him root against his own interests to be right.

I think the biggest indication of this all ending soon is the curiously timed Moose news. Seems like a sign that a decision is coming soon, as possibly one or both the Sox/Phillies have been told that the decision has been made and they've moved on to a dialogue with Moose now.

Jay is on his way to Chicago right now, so I imagine it gets announced officially either tonight or tomorrow. I believe a corresponding roster move has to come.

No idea, I'm just speculating that I can't imagine Hahn has acquired 2 somewhat redundant and not-obviously-better stopgap players that have strong connections to Manny without knowing, and thus discussing, these guys with Manny or his agent at some point.
