I think Jonathan India would be a more realistic, and easier player to acquire, maybe for a prospect-swap with Dunning. But I would also love for them to shoot for someone like Senzel first, and then if the Reds are asking more than Cease + backend top 10 guy, then maneuver down to India.
Given our strength of pitching, I think Dunning for India is something I would do.
If the Sox miss out on both Harper and Machado, then I hope they decide to buy out a contract, like discussed HERE. And then go hard after 1 or 2 of Arenado, Rendon, Sale, Cole, Ozuna, Goldschmidt, Eaton.
I reeeeeeally want Senzel. I said in my offseason plan I would be willing to do Cease + back-end top 10 guy for Senzel. Maybe like a Cease + Luis Gonzalez.
I can't see any reason for Machado to follow the YES network for any other reasons. Can the people who think this means nothing give a good excuse? Is he just interested to see how they cover him before he makes a choice? Maybe he will follow NBCSN Chicago or Philly soon too, or maybe it's all a tactic to drive the Sox or Phillies to panic and offer more?
I just can't wait for this shit to all be over.
What an advantage it has clearly been for these West Coast teams to have all the Japanese talent fall in to their laps because of their proximity to Japan.
I keep thinking that it would give one side or the other the upper hand, but I can't exactly think of why. But yeah, some sort of deadline would be great. Maybe even 30 days before the first team reports in the spring
Bird Box was pretty good. Very interesting the whole way through.
Don't get people saying it was scary. Not scary, but certainly creepy and gross at times.
Obviously wish they got in to the "who" and "why", but maybe it's better to leave the audience guessing.
Wait, are you sure there is no loss of draft pick at any time for exceeding luxury tax rules? So a team like the Red Sox would just simply move from like pick #32 to #42? That's it?
