Kimbrel went for prospects #25 and #76. He had 3 years left at $37M. Chapman went for prospect #2 Gleyber Torres, former top 100 prospect McKinney, Adam Warren, and Rashad Crawford (now in Yankees AAA team). He had 2 MONTHS left. Diaz went for prospects #62 and #89. He has 4 years left, 3 of them in ARB. Mariners got hosed if you want to break the trade down in to two parts.

If the Mariners are really sending $60M over, then this deal just keeps getting worse and worse for Seattle in my mind.

Cowboys defense came to plaaayyyyy. And it's nice that my favorite team avenged the loss to the Saints for my 2nd favorite team. That was a really nice of them. I was really hoping the Cowboys would have taken a WR last year in the 1st RD of the draft, but man, Thad Castle has been amazing. I think they said on the broadcast he leads the NFL in solo tackles. He had 10 tonight. He is ALL OVER the place, and he seems to be a great tackler as well. And shit, now that they got Amari Cooper doing big things, they basically got their 1st WR and they got Thad Castle shoring up that defense. On the broadcast they were bringing up what to do with Thad when Sean Lee comes back, but I guess I just assumed Thad, Lee, and Jaylon Smith would all play at the same time? Wouldn't Damien Wilson be the one being displaced?

I like Colome, but his timeline doesn't really line up that well for us (signed through 2020), so hopefully he can be flipped in July 2020 if the team is not competing by then. What would we even give up? Something like Carson Fulmer and Jordan Stephens?

Well now that the Mets have added Cano and Diaz, they can now go ahead and.....sell Syndergaard? I don't understand the Mets.

Why are people acting like this is a huge win for the Mariners? Imagine how much better of a return for Diaz it would have been if Cano wasn't a salary dump. On Garfien's podcast they were talking with Nightengale about the Mariners asking for a package starting with Cease. Cease is significantly better than Kelenic, Dunn, and Bautista. Look at what Chapman got the Yankees for only 3 months of service, Gleyber Torres. Cano is submarining Diaz's value in this trade by forcing the Mariners to take Bruce and Swarzak back in return, as well as only getting 1 top 100 prospect. Unless the Mariners got big plans with that money freed up from Cano, I'm not really sure why Mariners fans would be happy with this.

Nope, straight 2 year, $15M deal for Richards with a chance to max out at $18M after incentives. My proposed deal was a guaranteed 3 yrs/$30M, but I can see why Richards would prefer what is essentially 1 year to prove health before another chance to hit a big payday.

Playoffs have started for my fantasy league. I ended up with the 2nd best record (9-3), but the 3rd seed because we have divisions. Because of a goofy as generated schedule, I played a very good team 3 times this season out of 12 games. I won all 3 games, but by less than 2 points twice. And WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT, that team is my 1st RD matchup. Can I beat them FOUR times in 13 games? I'm projected to lose by 3, and I'm very nervous. Early returns on the trade I made have been fine. White wasn't great, but Chubb was and Njoku had a great game, even though he was on my bench in favor of Brate. So that leads me to my current dilemma....... Brate or Njoku at TE? Josh Reynolds or Chris Thompson or Inman at FLEX? I currently have Brate and Reynolds in there.

Oh ok, so you are talking about 2016 Eovaldi who got injured and then signed 1 year deal (+ club option). I thought you were referring to current FA Eovaldi and I was confused.

It's not just about if they are worthwhile prospects, it's also the caveat that they need to be ML ready enough to be able to survive an entire season on the major league club, otherwise they get sent back to their old team. Will any teams think Mendick is ready to spend all of 2019 in the majors after having only played as high as AA? That's the question.

Spencer Adams and Danny Mendick are also high risks, according to FutureSox. I'm really intrigued by Mendick, so I hope he falls through.
