  1. It will be cool to see videos of him mashing taters, but really why risk his injury to play in this? He's not nothing left to prove.
  2. Oh ok, so you are talking about 2016 Eovaldi who got injured and then signed 1 year deal (+ club option). I thought you were referring to current FA Eovaldi and I was confused.
  3. Curious to know why you just grouped Eovaldi in with Smyly and Richards, the latter of 2 whom will have signed deals shortly after having TJS.
  4. I would have to think if Richards' signs a 3 year deal, it's going to be for much more than $18M. I think my plan had him at 3 yrs/$30M.
  5. It's not just about if they are worthwhile prospects, it's also the caveat that they need to be ML ready enough to be able to survive an entire season on the major league club, otherwise they get sent back to their old team. Will any teams think Mendick is ready to spend all of 2019 in the majors after having only played as high as AA? That's the question.
  6. Hey, a familiar name in Tyler Kolek is also available in the draft, along with 8 other former 1st RD picks. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/nine-first-round-picks-left-unprotected-in-first-year-of-rule-5-eligibility/
  7. As for players whom I hope the Sox take..... P Tyler Jay, P Riley Ferrell, and 2B Max Schrock all interest me.
  8. Baseball America just released their preview. They list the top 5 guys likely to be taken. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2018-rule-5-draft-preview-v-10/ RP Zach Thompson seems like the most likely White Sox player to be selected. Spencer Adams and Danny Mendick are also high risks, according to FutureSox. I'm really intrigued by Mendick, so I hope he falls through.
  9. Isn't that how the waiver claims work? Don't you claim them straight to your 40-man? Or no. Honestly not sure, just seems weird to claim him and then expose him, unless they are betting on him not making it on a major league roster all season, and thus being returned to them.
  10. I really was hoping the Sox could turn Clarkin around, he was the Yankees 1st RD pick the same year they took Judge, but he was a DUMPSTER FIRE in AA for the Sox.
  11. Holy fucking scoring. This Rams defense better get their shit together soon, but it's nice to know that Todd Gurley can be completely excluded from the game plan, and this offense can still score 50+ points.
  12. Accepted the offer today. WR Brandin Cooks and TE Rob Gronkowski for RB James White, RB Nick Chubb, TE David Njoku My new starting line-up.... 12 team, 0.5 PPR QB - Mahomes (1) RB - White (8) RB - Chubb (19) WR - Brown (5) WR - Evans (9) TE - NJoku (10) FLEX - Collins (24) DST - Bears (1) K - Lutz (1) Bench - RB Freeman, RB Thompson, RB Yeldon, RB Bibbs, QB Flacco, TE Seals-Jones, WR Goodwin
  13. I believe it's complacency more than anything else, like you said. What is dumb, but possible, is that a guy like Q could leave for 5-6 years and then come back and be great with the team again, because of the decent amount of turnover between those times.
  14. Speaking of Bohm, he somehow hit 0 HR in 40 pro games last year, and only 8 XBH. Dude must have been super worn out after college ball.
  15. I say it's crazy because he created a niche project that he did almost just to be a contrarian, and it actually landed him a job. Maybe fascinating is more accurate.
  16. I'm just apprehensive about White because Sony Michel and Gronk are both healthy now. That will reduce White's carries and his receptions. And with Kupp out for the year, Cooks will likely see a rise in his targets now. I think maybe I'll use the next two days to push for him to throw in Njoku as a backup for Seals-Jones (just dropped MacDonald and picked up RSJ a few minutes ago), and if he won't throw in Njoku (He will have Gronk and Heuerman still), then maybe I just take the deal as is. I guess this trade really hinges on Gronk's health. If he gets hurt again, I feel like this was a slam dunk. If he's healthy the rest of the way, then I might be kicking myself.
  17. That's crazy. He used to get mocked on the Fangraphs Audio podcasts by Dave Cameron all the time for that Fringe Five, and just generally falling in love with fringe prospects. Max Shrock is the most recent one I can recall him bringing up all the time.
  18. Need some help on a trade offer...... 12-team, 0.5 PPR, ESPN league. I trade away...... Gronk and Brandin Cooks I receive..... James White and Nick Chubb. The reason I am considering this is because I my RBs are trash. Alex Collins is my #1. And the reason I am willing to part with Cooks is because I have Antonio Brown and Mike Evans still. I am going to have to replace Gronk with Vance MacDonald, which is a clear downgrade, but Gronk can literally get hurt at any moment. The one reason I am sitting on this trade is because White and Chubb are both bench players for him right now. He also has McCaffrey, Aaron Jones, Lamar Miller, and LeSean McCoy. So I feel like he is just trading spare parts and he will upgrade his TE and WR position. I kind of want to make him bleed out more than that. Should I ask him to throw in Njoku? Or Funchess? Or Corey Davis?
  19. Among his historic Fringe Five lists..... Mookie Betts, Jose Ramirez, Danny Salazar, Maikel Franco, Marcus Semien, Austin Barnes, and Wilmer Flores. Two legit MVP candidates right there, and a few other all-star types. Good news for us Sox fans is that I believe Danny Mendick has made a few appearances.
  20. Is that really what got him a job, his Fringe Five list? I do remember Mookie Betts being a big Cistulli guy when no one else was on Betts.
  21. Almost all of them do. I kind of wish these comp picks were based on like a "Last 5 years attendance". Because while teams can certainly tank for draft picks, they aren't going to want to sabotage attendance for draft picks, as that immediately affects their bottom line.
