This is the game Manny goes yard. I can feel it.
-
AJ with his typical "What kind of call was that? Let me proceed to swing at awful pitches now to try and prove a point" Ugh, that was awful. I knew as soon as I saw that first call against AJ that it would be the most obvious strikeout to come. Beckett just has to throw junk and AJ will swing at it because he is frustrated with ump. Just sad.

Very nice job by Phegley.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) Do you really think it's Ozzie's idea to rest Manny? Manny is a high maintenance player and in an attempt to get the best out of him these are things you have to do. Everyone knew that when they got him. It's like going to a Sox game and complaining about the $7 beers. Or....Kotsay is a .400 hitter off Beckett and Manny has never faced him....

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) Manny is sitting today. I thought he would DH 30 games, or until the Sox were out of it. Well Kotsay IS batting like well vs. Beckett, and Manny has no AB. I just hope as soon as Beckett leaves the game, Manny comes in.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) Big day tomorrow boys! Texas should be able to mash Blackburn - even without Hamelton. Beckett should be tough - hopefully M56 shows up and mows em down! A win tomorrow would be sweet - combine that with a Texas win - and I'm a happy camper. Anyone know how our team and players have faired against Beckett? This is all I can find: Beckett is 4-1 for his career against Chicago with a 3.72 ERA. Rios, Teahen, and Kotsay have done the best off him (min 10 AB). Rios is the only player with a HR vs. him (1 HR in 21 AB). Manny, Pierre, and Beckham have never faced him. V-Mart and Ortiz kill Buehrle.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) I was gonna say. I haven't seen an Ozzie team retaliate in years when a pitcher hits us. Usually it's when a guy hits us once or more... Hawk always says "He's gonna pay, maybe not this game or the next one, but in a series" and yet nothing happens. I can't believe it was a year ago that Ozzie made headlines for this... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4387215 Seems like he forgot....

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) You know what sucks, everytime a Sox batter is hit, the Sox are warned. Every damn time. Umps know Ozzie wont shy away from retaliation, so they take it away from him altogether. That just really sucks. When was the last time we hit a batter, especially on purpose? We have been hit the 2nd most times, and hit someone the 2nd least amount. Ozzie lost his pair of balls a while ago when it comes to calling to have players hit.

Alright, so let's go Morel in the game now... -

Beckham is not having a good 10 minutes. And Salty does those splits because he gets some pleasure having his vagina rub against the Fenway soil. -

Lackey hitting Q sure LOOKED intentional, but Lackey is an idiot if it actually was. Can't load the bases up by hitting a guy because your catcher had weak hands. -
QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) I think that for all his offesnive struggles this year - Carlos has shown he is a good hitter. I'd give him another year to see what he can do with the stick. I thought you said "snuggles" instead of "struggles". I think I'll stick with snuggles.
-
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 4, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) Any chance we see Morel as a defensive sub late in the game? I like that lineup as well. I would think so, and hope so, but Ozzie LOVES his Omar.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) Ciolli going nuts so far in his short stint in W-S. Dude is going to learn to draw a walk though...

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) And Felix faced the Rangers, Yankees and Red Sox. Just a tad better than the Tigers, Orioles and Indians. Felix was clearly the best AL pitcher last month. BAA: .189 ERA: 0.82 K/9: 10.62 Well, ok, if you factor in opponents faced, then sure I guess you could give it to Felix. Bottom line is that Buchholz was not deserving.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) Felix Hernandez was better than both of them. Eh, I disagree. I think Felix was better than Buchholz obviously, but outside of ERA, Jackson wins about every category over Felix.

Guess who won AL Pitcher of the Month!!! http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/red-sox/pos...of-month-honors Clay Buchholz. 43 2/3 IP, 30 H, 13 BB, 28 K, 2.7 BB/9, 5.8 K/9, 2.15 K:BB, 1.03 ERA, 0.98 WHIP 4.06 xFIP 36 2/3 IP, 30 H, 7 BB, 45 K, 1.7 BB/9, 11 K/9, 6.43 K:BB, 1.47 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 2.35 xFIP Tell me which line YOU think is better.....

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) As old as this is, and as late as you are with it, still f***ing hilarious. I saw it when it was live 2 years ago or whatever, but it was linked from that other video, so I posted it. His mannerisms and hand movements are spot on.

If you could be a member of the Whitesox organization...

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 3, 2010 -> 12:34 AM) 1.) Reinsdorf. I'd sell the team and have all that money. 2.) Kotsay. Didn't you all say he has the most gorgeous wife on the team? 3.) Paulie. It'd be fun to hit all those home runs. I figured you'd pick Manny. -
QUOTE (kev211 @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 11:03 PM) Hahahaha I did the exact same thing in my class. Haha, I was doing a little fisting pumping in my Bio class too. Not for Paulie's HR, but for some earlier moments in the game. I had the feed playing fullscreen on my computer, so I think the row behind me got to watch the game too. Haha.

Awesome, Twins lose, and they use up 3 of their starters in this game. Tigers could have easily swept, but at least we got a game closer. 3.5 :bringit
-
2 outs! Bases empty. Let's go Valverde! Working on like his 3rd inning.
-
Laird with a HR! Tigers up 10-9, top 13th.
-
QUOTE (gatnom @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) Maybe it's all part of their plan to tax the Twins' bullpen. Maybe not. Well, fortunately it's only the 13th inning, and Brian Duensing as already pitched and now it's Nick Blackburn in the pitch. Blackburn is scheduled to pitch tomorrow vs. Rangers. Matt Capps is their only reliever not used, but he is unavailable due to soreness. So at least the Tigers errors have messed with the Twins rotation now.
