  1. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) I thought that too. Hope not. Yeah, the timing of his jump seemed to indicate he was going to hit the wall in the air, but I think the wall surprised him when he realized he jumped a little too early. I hope he is alright.
  2. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) No, someone said the somebody or another was pitcher of the month and inferred that indicated ace-hood sort of. Then somebody said it didn't. I offered GF as an example of it not. (Sorry, with the game as it is and my general laziness, I don't feel like going back to look it up. Anyway, it's all good... other than the score... And Danks' performance... and bullpen injuries... And our designated "hitters"...) I made the original comment, but it was saying that Jackson is a POTM candidate, and that basically says how dominant he has been with us. I forgot to highlight the part I was referring to, so some people thought I was saying POTM award makes him an ace, when I was referring to him being dominant. It was a misunderstanding from the get-go.
  3. I think Rios thought the wall was closer, and may have messed up his shoulder a little.
  4. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Pitcher o' the month, then... Not much after that. My point, and the conversation at the time----> not an ace. 9-10 isn't really an ace's numbers. I must have missed where someone said Gavin Floyd was an ace...?
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:43 PM) You mean Carlos Silva wasn't one of the more dominant pitchers in baseball when he was 8-0 for the Cubs? Do you think Silva's 8-0 run proved better than or as good as what Jackson has done so far? If so, then sure, Silva was dominant for the Cubs over that stretch.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) That's as useless of a definition of a dominant pitcher as you could ever come up with. Has he yet to have an outing that wasn't dominant? 7 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K 6 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K 7 IP, 1 ER, 3 BB, 11 K 8 IP, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K Every start was dominant. Therefor, he is a dominating pitcher for us.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) There's a reason you were called on it. He's dominating right now...that doesn't mean he's a dominant pitcher full-time (yet). Gavin Floyd was absolutely dominating in June the last 2 years, but that doesn't offset his aprils. Edwin Jackson has never had a bad outing for this team. Until he does, he is every bit of a "dominating" pitcher for us.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) A 'pitcher of the month' doesn't automatically make you an ace. I was referring to him saying no pitcher on this team is dominant. Jackson, is dominating.
  9. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) With the exception of perhaps Peavy when healthy, the Sox have no pitcher higher than a #3. None of them are dominant. Hi, my name is Edwin Jackson and I am the pitcher of the month for August.
  10. There is another big HR from Andruw Jones!!! SUCK IT GREG!!!
  11. Buster_ESPN Heard this:Right now, the Dodgers' intention is to not just dump Manny on the White Sox;CWS must make it worth their while with a prospect And the saga continues....
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) I'm going to go with "2 run home run". I loooove it when you analyze.
  13. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 06:03 PM) Rios watched 2 seemingly hittable pitches, but missed with his swing at the one over his head. He really needs to be hitting around 6 or 7 right now.
  14. Damn, I thought for sure Alexei would get 2 bases on that.
  15. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 05:51 PM) JDINAA John Danks Is Not An Ace?
  16. Alright, I guess it's Lucas Harrell time.....ugh.
  17. Andruw says "Here is your opposite field hit, Sox talk haters!"
  18. Seriously, how many HRs have we allowed to players who aren't HR hitters? It's unbelievable. Brian Roberts, Orlando Hudson, Denard Span, and all these other scrappy slap hitters hit bombs off us. It's really annoying.
  19. Brandon League looked pretty damn good. They just showed his post-ASB numbers, and he has a 0.42 ERA. Damn. 1 ER in 21 1/3 IP.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) Seattle's offense makes me appreciate ours. Hell, Mark Kotsay would be one of their more dangerous hitters. Thanks a lot, I just threw up on my keyboard.
  21. Shaun White is good at snow boarding, skateboarding, surfing, and apparently baseball. I'll take it!
  22. Well, in this Twins game so far, Thome and Hudson have both left with injuries. Thome's was a strained back, and Hudson's was a sprained ankle. Both are day-to-day I believe.
