  1. Someone posted this on Facebook yesterday. It was great. Pretty touching, especially when it was little kids.
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 07:24 AM) It seems the draft picks thus far are performing real well (well, only basing off our first three picks: Sale, Reed and Petricka). Seems like a great top of the draft thus far and thats the most important group. Royse and Wilkins too. That's our #1, #2, #3, #4, and #6 picks. Our #5 pick (Grimes) hasn't signed.
  3. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Anyone else here excited for season 2 of 'The League'? That show is hilarious Yep. Season 1 was awesome. Did anyone watch the finale of Last Comic Standing? Felipe Esparza won. WHAT A JOKE! He should not have even made the top 10 cut, let alone win. I have no idea how he won. He is NOT funny. I feel bad for Tommy Johnigan because he was easily the best comedian on that show. Sad he lost.
  4. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 12, 2010 -> 02:35 AM) There is zero chance of Minnesota claiming Manny Ok, but do you know the answer to my question?
  5. Fun game to be at. Showed up for batting practice. Thome hit about 4-5 straight pitches for HR, it was great. Wayyy too many lefties from the Twins. I had bleacher seats, and didn't get ONE ball hit in my section. The sections to the left and to the right got at least 4-5 balls each. Left field got a ton because of Mauer, Thome, Kubel, ect.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Pierre LF Ramirez SS Rios CF Konerko 1B Quentin DH Pierzynski C Viciedo 3B Jones RF Beckham 2B Danks Hell yes, this is my ideal lineup, and I get to see them in person!
  7. QUOTE (dielac @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) Thinking about buying tickets for tonight. Only thing is I ride my motorcycle there. You guys think it will rain? Bring a tarp and a bungie, or a cover.
  8. So my buddy and I are planning on arriving at US Cellular around 5 PM. That means we will be able to watching batting practice, right?
  9. The last couple episodes were great. Really made Kenny come off as a funny, light-hearted guy. I was watching with a Cubs fan, and a dbacks fan, and we were all laughing our ass off at Kenny saying "How does this guy know this s***?" and "Alright, everyone put your phones in the middle" during the Trade Deadline episode. And Ozzie riding around his bike was hilarious.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 10:09 AM) Hope so. I'll be there tonight. Me too. Buy me a hotdog.
  11. I have a Golden Retriever named Casey. Nothing cool behind the name other than being an Irish family.
  12. Alright, that's enough for me. I'm out. Can't wait to go to the rainy game tomorrow and watch this team get slaughtered.
  13. So it doesn't actually require each team to make a decision for the next team in line to make a decision? Everyone just makes their claim at any point during that 48 hours, and then the team w/ the worse record that put in a claim gets first pick (starting with their own league). This makes much more sense. I thought it was like, the Sox, for instance, couldn't make the decision to pass or claim until all the other teams with worse records made their decisions first. 2nd question. Do the standings freeze the day the instant the player is put on waivers, or do the standings reflect after the 48 hours is over? Like, if the Sox AND Minnesota put in a claim tomorrow afternoon after Manny is placed on waivers, while the Sox are in second place, do the records get locked in at that time, or do they wait until 48 hour period ends, and say maybe the Sox have taken over the division again?
  14. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) Once placed on waivers teams have 48 hours to put a claim on him. After the 48 hour period is up and no claim has been made the player has made it through waivers and can be traded freely. If a player is placed on waivers Thursday or Friday, they 48 hour period extends and ends on the following Monday and Tuesday. So it doesn't actually require each team to make a decision for the next team in line to make a decision? Everyone just makes their claim at any point during that 48 hours, and then the team w/ the worse record that put in a claim gets first pick (starting with their own league). 15. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:27 PM) lol, that's actually a pretty good way to look at it. Although, it would be hard for it to work out that perfectly on the very day we drop to 2nd place. How quick do the players go through waivers? Like could the Dodgers say "Alright, the White Sox are now in 2nd place, we may have a chance to work out a deal w/ them w/o Minny blocking the claim. Let's put him through now". Or does it take a few days for a claim to be made? Is there a certain window you have to decide on a player if you want to claim him or not?
  16. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Well it'll be easier to get Manny after tonight, since the Twins won't be able to block anymore. lol, that's actually a pretty good way to look at it. Although, it would be hard for it to work out that perfectly on the very day we drop to 2nd place.
  17. QUOTE (Queen Prawn @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Why do the Sox always wet the bed when they play the Twins? Or is this the Sox coming back to earth? A little of both. We see "Minnesota" on the schedule and we just give up.
  18. QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:16 PM) everyone was crying too hard to actually watch the replay and see that he was easily back. No big deal though....guy getting picked off first to start an inning doesn't kill a rally or anything. It was the wrong call, yes, but we shouldn't have to attribute possibly losing this game to the umpires calls. If we need calls to go our way to win the game, then we don't deserve to win in the first place.
  19. QUOTE (SAVVY18 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) Unfortunately, our opinions mean s***. I'm just saying. People are giving Juan s***, when they should be giving the umpire s***.
  20. QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) isn't it enough that we play like retards against the twins? Do they really need the umps help too? f***ing christ Hawk, is that you?
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) f*** JUAN! He looked safe.
  22. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) Lillibridge may be coming back down to earth. You sure? I thought he would hit .400+ all season.....
