  1. BTW, Kenny called this s*** pregame. He said "Carlos is very, VERY close right now to going on another hot tear". Hell yes Kenny, you can scout 'em!
  2. Sweet job Kotsay. Hawk has started his "Well, the umpire's really ruined this game for us tonight".
  3. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) Called him out for running out of the baseline at 1b Speculating, or is that what happened? And if that's what happened, then shouldn't players always try and do that on bases loaded, ball hit to 1B because if they get called out for being in the baseline, then it eliminates the force play? Or was the only reason the runner was safe at home because AJ didn't have his foot on the base?
  4. So I just heard on CSN that Konerko said he never touched the bag at 1B, and thus the out should have been called at home. In the replay, you will notice that he didn't actually touch 1B, he stopped short of it to throw home. But even though he never touched first, the out was given to 1B. But if you notice in the replay, the 1B umpire rules "SAFE" at 1B after Paulie throws to home. So the 1B ump SAW that Konerko didn't touch the bag, but still didn't correct the umpire at home. And even if he didn't correct the umpire at home, he ended up ruling the runner OUT at 1B, even though he just called him safe..... Interesting play. So either the out should have been called at home, or the runner should have been safe at 1B. Unless that is, the umpire was ruling the runner safe because AJ was not touching home plate, and he actually was ruling under the assumption that a tag was NOT needed. But that still doesn't explain why the runner was called out at 1B. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...ame_pk%3D265482
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) Wait. Did I just hear Joe West is umping this series. f***ing wonderful. No Buehrle this series, so we are OK in that department.
  6. 6-3 over this homestand would be fantastic, but 5-4 is needed.
  7. According to ESPN Gamecast, Matusz is really getting squeezed. There were 3 balls to Quentin that were in the zone.
  8. Ok seriously now, how much of a delay is the TV broadcast and real life? I can't believe that MLB Gameday is showing pitches before they occur on TV.....and I am not even watching in HD....
  9. Ok, Gameday had the first pitch to Alexei about 5 seconds before it came on TV......that trippy....
  10. I like Castro catching Buehrle today. I see Buehrle having a masterful start.
  11. Pierre - LF Vizquel - 3B Rios - CF Konerko - DH Quentin - RF Kotsay - 1B Ramirez - SS Castro - C Beckham - 2B Buehrle - P
  12. Not in the lineup today.
  13. ESPN did an E:60 report on Nick Swisher. Swisher talked about how "I have a reputation around the league as being a really great clubhouse guy"...... Yeah, except for the fact we traded you because you annoyed the s*** out of our players.....
  14. As much as I have been rooting for Hudson to do well, I am starting to turn against him because I am getting a little sick of my Dbacks friend texting me telling me "Thanks for giving us Hudson" I really hope EJax can dominate, so it will shut his ass up.
  15. Very nice start for Alexrod tonight... 8 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K. He has 59 K to only 10 BB now in 84 2/3 IP. Awesome K:BB ratio. Rath with 2 1/3 perfect innings, 6 K. Jikes.
  16. Well......AJ is injured and out of the game. He was also out at 3B, but we caught a break, and it's a tie game.
  17. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 7, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) I just laughed out loud. Let's spell guys at DH. I don't recall Thome ever DH'ing 162 games, do you? Meanwhile, Kotsay still sucks, even when he does record a hit.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2010 -> 07:57 PM) Anyone that doesn't project Teahen as an everyday starting player next season is nuts. We're not going to pay him 4-5 million dollars to be a utility player. Players should earn spots because of performance, not salary. If Teahen hits like s***, then I don't want him playing over better players just because he makes more money.
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 7, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) If Kenny goes into next year with Kotsay still on the team and a Vizquel lead battle for 3rd base I want him fired. That would be two years in a row of handicaping your team. Oh man, I hope my post didn't come off as saying Kotsay should be on this team next year. I, of all people, would rather punch myself in the nuts than suggest that. I just meant that Teahen would fill the role that Kotsay has THIS year, which is spelling Paulie at 1B, and spelling Quentin at DH.
  20. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 7, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) Has anything shown you guys that Omar couldn't play 110-120 games next year at 3b? I would be open to a Morel/Teahen/Vizquel battle for 3B in Spring Training next year. If Morel doesn't win, then he goes to AAA. If Teahen doesn't win, then he takes Kotsay's spot, and if Vizquel doesn't win, then he is one of our utility guys.
