  1. Bush - 2/4, 2B, RBI Amado Nunez - 2/4, 2B, RBI. He's hitting .333 now as a 20-year-old. Quite a drastic improvement over his time in GF last season in a similar amount of PA when he batted .183. He has 21 XBH in 43 games in GF this year. Troutwine - 1/3, 2B, RBI. He has slowly but surely crept his AVG up to .300. RP Nick Johnson probably doesn't need much longer in GF. Our 21st RD pick this year has 23 IP, 20 H, 4 BB, 21 K and a 0.78 ERA. He just turned 23 last month, so this shouldn't be too eye-opening. For the AZL Sox, Ty Greene is 2/2 with 2 BB, SB. Weaver and Mieses are each 2/3. Sam Abbot has a walk, as usual.
  2. From what I remember, his range is ok for SS, good for 2B, but he has super smooth actions, slick hands, and great instincts.
  3. Also, Tito Polo HR'd again for AZL. I don't recall exactly why he got sent all the way down from AA, I assume injury, but he appears ready to get back there. He has 3 HR in 4 games, hitting .417, and has 5 BB and 3 SB.
  4. Maybe this UDFA P Kevin Folman that the Sox signed out of North Dakota St. should get bumped up to Great Falls soon. Tonight: 5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K. Season: 2.12 ERA, 21 K, 4 BB, 17 IP, 13 H, 1.00 WHIP He was strictly a reliever at NDST. He must be one of those guys the Sox have identified as SP after being RP in college.
  5. As others have said, I just hope he doesn't resign with the Red Sox, gets a new deal with an opt out, uses it, and basically never spends more than 3-4 years on any team and then the Sox have a chance at being on his HoF plaque! Of course if he wins a couple of Cy Youngs and World Series with the Red Sox....then shit.
  6. Magglio would be amazing, but I can't help but think of Dye every time.
  7. I was really rooting for that story, and the idea of Thome finding him, but he's been awful so far. Obviously crazy raw though.
  8. Madson hit 2 batters, and another reached on what should have been an error (anything to help Heyward's batting avg).
  9. Guess what, it wasn't hypothetical. You're right, I'm not going to apologize for them assaulting my buddy.
  10. What is racist about that? Unless it you think they committed a hate crime, which I don't have any real reason to assume. They were just very concerned with cutting people off in the parking lot. Their son did use racial slurs, but none that actually made sense to the race in which he yelled them at.
  11. Don't talk back to a nice Hispanic family who just wants to bully their way out of the parking lot, or the 3 of them, including their kid, may open your car door and go through your window to assault you, then chase down the car as you try to drive away, beating at the windows and yelling. That was the biggest takeaway I saw.
  12. And especially for big Saturday promo games it seems like they open them way earlier than 2 hours before, that's why I was wondering if anyone had a firm answer.
  13. In the Sox Talk Live w/ Rick Hahn last week, he identified Call as someone he wanted to give a shoutout to for handling an aggressive promotion due to a log-jam very well and making the most out of what they figured to be a tough challenge for him.
  14. I have a feeling if we miss out on Machado (assuming he's willing to go back to 3B), that the Sox will and should move Moncada back over to 3B again. Yolmer can take over 2B again until Madrigal is ready.
  15. Gunnar Troutwine has picked it back up after having a pretty lackluster start to pro ball. Since July 23rd, including tonight so far.... .478 AVG, .536 OBP, 4 BB, 2 K. Unfortunately only 1 XBH over that span, and no HR, but he's making drastically better contact. He now has 12 BB to 13 K in 86 PA so far. That's a 14% BB rate, and a K% just a tick above that.
  16. That's what I was thinking. I can't imagine them trading him and then end up losing Arenado also. I was looking in to Ryan McMahon, but I don't know if he can be trusted at 3B anymore. He seems to be 1B now with some 2B thrown in.
  17. Or Fulmer to the Brewers for 3B Lucas Erceg. Or if the Rays for some reason wanted Fulmer, and we get 3B Christian Arroyo back. Basically as someone else said, look for a "change of scenery" type move where we can get a 3B prospect back who stalled in their development, similar to Fulmer.
  18. Carson Fulmer for Kevin Maitan. Two well regarded prospects who fell from off the prospect cliffs for vastly different reasons. Plus the Angels just drafted Jeremiah Jackson this June, and at 18 (same age as Maitan) has been killing it in rookie ball, so Jackson could easily pass him on their org depth chart anyway, and given their similar ages, would block Maitan out. But obviously that wouldn't help our need for a 3B by 2020, as Maitan is probably 3-4 years away.
  19. Is it just me, or am I erect right now?
  20. Alex Call just MURDERED his 2nd HR of the game. That was a no-doubter. He's got 6 HR now for BIR in 44 games. He hit 5 HR in 56 games for W-S to star the year. 11 combined.
  21. I don't know where you are seeing a pitch count, but the way they do pitchcounts it seems based on your 34 numbers is..... Non-strikeout out = 1 pitch Strikeout = 2 more pitches Hit = 1 pitch Walk = 1 pitch So Perez pitched 7 innings (21 outs). So that's 21 pitches. 4 of those were strikeouts, so add 8 more. That gives you 29. He gave up 4 hits, so add 4 more. That gives you 33. Then a walk must equal 1 pitch for some reason, so that would give you 34 pitches. I feel like 37 pitches makes a lot more sense, but that's the best guess I can make based on his line.
  22. I've got tickets for the 8th and the 11th. So....hopefully yeah.
