  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) As much as I love Ramon Castro, I've been very underwhelmed by his pitch calling with Jenks on the mound. Really? You blame Ramon Castro for Jenks sucking?
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) I blame Chris Rongey and Hawk for this guy's horrible ignorance. I said something back to him, and I just can't wait to read his ridiculous reply.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) Don't even bother. Some people just love to ignore facts, even things like, you know, batting average. LOL, just wait, it gets better.... I reply... "All of my "numbers" mean everything. I don't care if Mark Kotsay bakes cookies for every game, the bottom line is that he is awful at baseball, and his play HURTS this team. He costs more runs than he produces. Dayan Viciedo and Brent Lillibridge have done well in the small chances they have had. There is no reason to sit the clearly more talented players in place of him. When Teahen comes back, Ozzie better get some sense and tell Kenny to DFA Kotsay because he adds NOTHING to this team." This guy must be a genius, because then he drops this insightful nugget on me.... "Send your numbers to Ozzie. He's the one that makes the decisions. You can try to impress us all you want with your WAR and UZR (whatever the hell those are) numbers but that alone won't bench your buddy Kotsay."
  4. Here is the guy on Facebook's response to me ripping Kotsay on Reiferts status.... "Geez, did Kotsay steal your girl in high school or what???? Relax, "The Show," he is just one of 25 guys on a roster. And all of your numbers and letters and +/- signs really don't mean much. Ozzie likes Kotsay on his club. Ozzie is the manager. That's enough to justify Kotsay's spot on the club."
  5. Anyone friends with Scott Reifert on Facebook? Some idiot just said this on his status that included today's lineup.... This is in response to why Kotsay is on this team still.... "Because he is such a versatile backup. He wasn't acquired a year ago to be the everyday left-handed DH. It just happened to fall that way. He is a good lefty pinch hitter, can play the outfield and is a very good first baseman to spell Konerko. And he is, from all accounts, one of the best leaders in the clubhouse. Batting average doesn't mean everything . . . . . . . ."
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) I'm sure this was already addressed in this thread, but does this trade show a lack of confidence in Hudson short term, a lack of confidence in Hudson long term, a lack of confidence in the long term prognosis of Jake Peavy after his weird injury, the belief that Edwin Jackson can thrive under Coop, all of the above, or some of the above? I would say more lack of Rizzo being a doucher and going back on what he said he wanted for Dunn.
  7. Wilkins went 2-4 with a 3B and RBI. Avg up to .350. OPS is now over 1.000. Promote.Him.Now.
  8. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) picked this up from motownsports.com ....who knows if its true...."Dickerson on radio with the claim the Dunn has cleared waivers...." So that means that Rizzo is free to trade Dunn wherever he wants to? I wonder why the Sox didn't try and claim him... ?
  9. Did anyone notice it was Linebrink's birthday? Hope this year brings less suck.
  10. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) I find it funny he said this, yet ripped Nick Swisher when he was here for almost the same thing. (clubhouse stuff didn't come out till after he was traded and I still don't even buy all of that) You wanna talk about "luck" Ozzie? Swisher had the worst luck in a season that I've ever seen a white sox hitter have in quite some time, yet you had no trouble keeping it real with him sucking. On another note, looks like Dayan WILL PLAY tomorrow. Why? Did Kotsay allow him to play tomorrow? Or is Kotsay going to DH, and Viciedo will play 3B?
  11. Winning run on 2nd for Tampa with 2 outs, and Longoria at the plate....
  12. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) That's Floyd, not Floyf. You sure?
  13. 84 K to 23 BB by Rienzo in 72 2/3 IP.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Longoria with a lead-off double. Advances to 3rd on fly out.
  15. LOL at my Dbacks friend. He texted me gloating about Hudson's debut, and I told him how I figured Huddy would do good, he is a good young pitcher, ect. Then just now I text him about Jackson's debut, and all he can say back is "Yeah, he threw a no-hitter too, but he still sucks". I reply "Yeah, he walked 8 in that no-hitter, but he only walked 1 tonight. And no walks are the key to his success", to which he replies "Yeah, he will be decent once every 5 starts". I told him "well, he is 1/1". And essentially the conversation continues with me explaning how I didn't download Hudson's start, even though it was against a s***ty Mets offense in a pitchers park, ect, ect, ect. He's an idiot.
  16. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) Ozzie appears to have written a script on Kotsay for ESPN to read. "He controls that clubhouse." CREEPY. He controls the clubhouse with his 'coon eyes.
  17. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) If we haven't settled on a nickname for EJax yet can we please consider Action Jackson?: Stephen Jackson owns that one.
