  1. Carson Fulmer for Kevin Maitan. Two well regarded prospects who fell from off the prospect cliffs for vastly different reasons. Plus the Angels just drafted Jeremiah Jackson this June, and at 18 (same age as Maitan) has been killing it in rookie ball, so Jackson could easily pass him on their org depth chart anyway, and given their similar ages, would block Maitan out. But obviously that wouldn't help our need for a 3B by 2020, as Maitan is probably 3-4 years away.
  2. Is it just me, or am I erect right now?
  3. Alex Call just MURDERED his 2nd HR of the game. That was a no-doubter. He's got 6 HR now for BIR in 44 games. He hit 5 HR in 56 games for W-S to star the year. 11 combined.
  4. I don't know where you are seeing a pitch count, but the way they do pitchcounts it seems based on your 34 numbers is..... Non-strikeout out = 1 pitch Strikeout = 2 more pitches Hit = 1 pitch Walk = 1 pitch So Perez pitched 7 innings (21 outs). So that's 21 pitches. 4 of those were strikeouts, so add 8 more. That gives you 29. He gave up 4 hits, so add 4 more. That gives you 33. Then a walk must equal 1 pitch for some reason, so that would give you 34 pitches. I feel like 37 pitches makes a lot more sense, but that's the best guess I can make based on his line.
  5. I've got tickets for the 8th and the 11th. So....hopefully yeah.
  6. I need a "Madrigal Elektromotoren" White Sox shirt made. ASAP.
  7. I will literally know the person who will be greeting him when he comes to town. If I get a scoop, I'll be sending it along to WSD. So far no new info tonight.
  8. I was thinking of this recently when we all got excited about Luis Gonzalez.
  9. But it doesn't make sense that he would be walking less now. You'd think without Eloy behind him, he would be getting less pitches to hit, because the risk of walking him coming back to hurt the pitcher are less.
  10. Good call, Bryce Bush promoted to Great Falls today. ?
  11. I went to a Cubs/Giants ST game that was cancelled in the 5th inning due to wind. It whips sand in to your eyes and was ripping signs off the OF wall. Wind out there is no joke.
  12. Yoelvin Silven had a helluva start. 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K He now has an ERA of 2.98 with 57 K to only 10 BB in 45 IP. He just turned 19, and was just signed in May.
  13. DSL - Won 7-1 GF - Bilious @ 8PM Kanny - Moran @ 6PM Winston-Salem - Battenfield @ 4PM, Henzman @ 10:30PM Birmingham - Banks @ 7PM Knights - TBD @ 6 PM https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates
  14. I think we can catch KC, but catching Baltimore and that horrid roster would require one of those weird things where a team unloads talent and all the randoms who get playing time have chips on their shoulders and steal some games away.
  15. He's only 18, but then again, he's sleepwalking through AZL so far. So yeah, do it. Obviously 13 games is a very small sample size, but so far he has 6 BB (12.7 BB%) and 4 K (8.5 K%). To me, that's more impressive than his .400+ batting average.
  16. Got a response. Garrett Greene‏ @Garrett_Greene Probably closer to 90-93 and can touch 94-95 when he really reaches back.
  17. Just to clarify, those are just the 2 names I've seen online, not names that are official. No one has posted the official return yet.
  18. "You may remember me from such roles as, UPS guy, bodyguard, or Red Hat guard #2"
  19. Rollie Lacy and DJ Wilson are the two names I've seen. Wilson is ranked as the Cubs 8th best prospect by Fangraphs. Lacy is not ranked at all.
  20. Alex Call double. He's slowly but surely creeping up to .300. He's at .291 now. He's hitting .316 in July with an OPS of about .900. He's responded well to his surprise call up to AA. He had 1 strikeout over his last 8 games prior to tonight.
