QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) That was an awfully good play by Pierre getting to that ball. Fangraphs has Pierre as the best defensive LF in the MLB this year according to UZR/150. Rios comes out to be the 2nd best defensive CF in the MLB this year according to UZR/150. Quentin comes out to be the 2nd WORST defensive RF in the MLB this year according to UZR/150. What a difference that makes.....

Morel is 1-2 right now with a 2B and a run scored. Danks is 0-3, 1 K Viciedo is 1-2 w/ and RBI Flowers is 0-1 w/ a BB

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 12:58 AM) Cubs are going to take him if the Mets don't. After listening to Hawk and Stone today, we'll never take a high school pitcher in the first round, and any high school player seems questionable in the first round. Well, he also plays SS and C. And according to my friend who knows O'Conner and has played baseball w/ him, he actually prefers to be a position player because he is a real good hitter. And SS and C are very weak in our system (unless Flowers pans out).

BREAKING NEWS: White Sox have traded C A.J. Pierzynski + cash to Texas Rangers for minor league pitcher Zach Phillips -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 12:47 AM) According to Pillere, Mets are leaning towards taking O'Connor over Choice. I guess McGuire's stock is back up after a dominant performance tonight. No, no, no, no, no! I am pulling for the Sox to take O'Conner!

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Take this FWIW. A friend of mine who works security told me A.J.'s locker was cleaned out when he was in the clubhouse before the game. I'm sure our local media will have the scoop. Emailed it to mlbtraderumors for s***s and giggles, but I guess we will find out in 12 hours if AJ is in the lineup or not..... -

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) I don't see what did he say that was so bad? Not trying to defend him just not seeing what you guys are? Same here, I don't see anything to make me think he doesn't want to be here..... -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) For as well as Rios is playing, his contract starts getting into astronomical territory the next few seasons. With that being said, no way does he get traded. Huh? Rios is set to make $12 in 2011 and 2012, and $12.5M in 2013 and 2014...... That's Paul Konerko money. I would have to say that a speedy, defensively gifted CF who has good power is more valuable than a power hitting 1B who has absolutely no speed. Also, so far this season, Rios is already been worth $11.7M (according to FanGraphs) and the season is only 1/3 over.
-
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 11:13 PM) I would be willing to trade everyone with the exception of Danks, Beckham, and Santos. I think we need to seriously consider dealing Rios. I disagree soo much. Look how long it took us to finally get a competent CF out there. Not only does he have power, but he has the speed and defense for CF. I would file Rios under UNTOUCHABLE, along with Beckham. Everyone else is expendable, really.

I am an idiot. I have been weighing myself w/o shoes on, like I was when I was back at school. Starting Weight (4/7/10) - 272 LB Current Weight (6/510) - 260.5 LB Total Loss: 11.5 lbs Went to the gym for the first time today. I replaced the kettle weights w/ the stair master. Stair master is not worth it methinks. Lost only like 46 calories in 5 minutes, and my legs were killing me. When I do the eliptical, I bang out about 210 calories in 13 minutes.

I am very close to giving up completely now...... Losing to the Indians is f***ing pathetic. I know how the Cubs fans feel now with their 1-7 record vs. Pirates.... -

This is the first game that Castro has caught of Peavy's, right? 7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K I (and others), have been calling for Castro to catch Peavy for over a month now. I see it finally happens, and Peavy gets good results. Can we please make it a routine? Not like we are really missing AJ's offense, hell, Castro has our only RBI this game.... -
Morel is really not adjusting well so far. It's not even been a week though, but only 1 hit. Thankfully, only 1 strikeout though too.

Ok, I finally got it. I had to reclick the link on the very first post and click the "Book Reservation" button or w/e the 3rd step says. I was clicking the link on the left side, and it was not activating the discount. $75 a night is real nice, but then it says "Extra $10 per adult starting with the 3rd adult", which puts me back at $95 a night which is basically the same as it costs me on the other site. Oh well. It's a good discount if it's just two people though.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) Before or after the discount? The original is crossed out right above the discounted rate. I don't see any number crossed out. I don't know, clearly I'm an idiot and can't figure this out. This is the screen I see......

Is there a way to find out what kind of discount I can expect? My friends and I are planning on going to Minneapolis for a Sox/Twins game in July, and the hotel we were planning on staying at is on that list, but it doesn't say what I can expect to save. I believe I saw it at like $90 a night for the days I picked.

Legit way to get MLB.tv
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 04:59 PM) i understand how it works, its pretty much just like netflix on ur ps3, u login once and u never have to "manually" do it again because your account info is synced with your console from that point on. I believe it does count as a login technically because if there was no login process then how would the system recognize you as a valid mlb.tv member? I am not saying I am not being automatically logged in every time I click the app, but I am saying I don't know if it registers it as a log in in accordance to their set amount of log-ins per day. -
Legit way to get MLB.tv
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) you can access mlb.tv with more than one user, the thing is there is a maximum allowable mlb.tv logins per day by different ip addresses. I ran into this when i shared my last mlb.tv account with 5 other people and i got an error message stating that ive tried to login too many times. But the idea is that you can watch these games in HD on your TV (instead of computer), and someone can allow you to share w/o ever having to actually tell you the password or login. Complete strangers won't have to worry about someone jacking their account. And I don't know that it actually registers as a normal "log in" when I use it on my PS3 because I never have to actually "log in" i just click the app and it plays.
