  1. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 22, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) Alexei moved up batting second, AJ getting a day off. From Chuck Garfien: Andruw Jones - .382, 9HR, 19RBI when Sox win / .103, 0HR, 0RBI when Sox lose Wow. So we are the Chicago Andruw Jones' I guess. My Andruw Jones jersey should be here in a couple weeks, I'm pumped.
  2. http://store.apple.com/us/product/IPAD_KBD...mco=MTc0MjU1NTI Apple now makes a docking keyboard for the iPad. Can you imagine having something like a desktop computer that is simply a screen and a keyboard and is completely portable for only $570? Oh yeah....it's called a netbook and it sells for half the price at twice the features......
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2010 -> 06:19 PM) There's no reason for this move at all. He's the last player (5th starter) on a team like the 2003 White Sox that puts us over the top, but not a building block or franchise cornerstone like Aroldis Champman, Dice-K or Strasburg. Umm what? Matsuzaka is a huge bust.
  4. QUOTE (bobryansson @ May 19, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) How is Hunter racist? For real? http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/...osters.html.php
  5. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 19, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) in other news that doesn't matter, I apparently missed AJP at Subway today for lunch. I rolled up and the parking lot was full, found out he was there at the time. God dammit I wonder if he got southwest chipotle sauce on it.
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 19, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) Strong start by Danks. stronger start by Saunders.
  7. CSN+. Great, thanks Comcast, guess I am not watching tonight.....
  8. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:31 PM) I'm actually more disappointed that the DBags aren't closer in the standings...because they need bullpen help in the worst way!!! I agree. They are the ideal team to take Jenks or Linebrink, or even both if Kenny can do so. Then Kenny can finally get Gerardo Parra in return!
  9. QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:32 PM) I'm not sure of the exact numbers, and I'm too dumpy and lazy to look them up, but Peavy and Rios make up about $20 million for 2012? And I imagine Gonzalez would command upwards of $15-$20 million. So, yeah I agree. It would be nice, but having $40 million of a $95-$100 million payroll tied in three guys is iffy. Actually, in 2011, Peavy and Rios will combine for $28M. Gonzalez has an option for 2011, so lets assume we sign him to a deal, by 2012, we are looking at $29M from Peavy and Rios, with another $17-$20M from Gonzalez, so you could be talking $45-50M, or literally HALF of our payroll in 3 players.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Pulling audio off youtube is ridiculously easy these days. And the quality is actually pretty damn good if you do it right. If you use a song from VEVO, sure. I download using Ares, and for YouTube, I just pull it using RealPlayer or Sony Vegas.
  11. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ May 17, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) I will go on the record as saying that Brent will be a more than adequate replacement for Tehean in 2012. His defense is absolutely stunning, i watched him in a couple of spring training games and he didn't do anything but make pick after pick while showing a strong, accurate arm. I also think that his offense will be more than adequate, he'll hit for average with some pop, probably around 15-20hr's and lots of doubles to go along with good speed for a 3B. His power numbers will be deflated this year at B-Ham but don't let that fool you, he can hit it out of the park regularly. One of my favorite prospects right now. Yep, Brent is my fav. prospect in our system. I always have a liking for 3B (Crede, Fields, Beckham) and now Morel. Also, we have chats on Facebook from time to time, so we are basically best friends. lol.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) If you look at the payroll coming off of the books in the next two years, it is more realisitic than you think. Yeah, I guess Konerko and Jenks are about $20 right there, but I am still not sure I want sooo much money tied up into Peavy and Gonzalez.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) We wouldn't trade for him without a very, very good understanding of a contract extension. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that is what has stopped past potential deals for him., A contract extension we wouldn't be able to afford anyway.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 17, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) Why is everyone talking Salty? Give me Max Ramirez. Let me ask you this.....who is better, Salty, or Ramirez?
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) I hate the idea located in your second sentence. If we were to trade for Adrian, or any big named young player, it wouldn't just be for 2010. A guy like that becomes the Paul Konerko style anchor of the middle of the line up for many, many years. For some reason people took the same mentality towards Rios and Peavy. The difference is that this is Gonzalez final contract year, w/ a club option for 2011. Rios is here through 2014 w/ 2015 club option, and Peavy is here through 2012 with 2013 club option. That is NOT the same, especially considering that Gonzalez will make more money than both those guys in his new contract.
  16. Is anyone else happy that the Padres are doing well, and thus they will probably hold on to Adrian Gonzalez and not entice Kenny to throw what is left of our farm at him? In an already seemingly lost season, I think the only thing that is worse is Kenny trying to win over fans by trading all of our best prospects to reel in Gonzalez to a team that will probably never catch the Twins.
  17. Morel, 2-3. AVG up to .308. Do work Brent!
  18. It's a little messed up right now. It thinks Andruw Jones is Paul Konerko...
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 15, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) 3 games in a row without a homer.. now we're losing our only edge. 4 straight now. 2-2 over those 4 games.
  20. Morel with 3 errors today. Ouch!
  21. This % is coming down quite a bit. I guess the weather heats up, and we hits less HR? Hmm....
  22. WHO!?!?!?!? Not my generation. But yeah, I have heard of him.
