Machado deal structure "in place"
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
But what would be their motivation to sabotaging their own deals? Trying to get other teams to jump in last second to steal a trade away? -
Was going off of Fangraphs ranking, which don't even have him as a Braves top 10 prospect, let alone a top 100 guy. Midseason rankings by other pubs may jive with that. EDIT: Just looked up Baseball America's new top 100 updated today. Allard isn't on their current top 100 either.

When looking through Fangraphs org lists for names, I was surprised that Allard is considered the Braves 8th best PITCHING prospect. They have got to be the deepest pitching farm in baseball by a mile. William Contreras is an exciting catching prospect, hopefully less douchey than his big brother, but I would want him and then really any of the Braves pitching prospects paired with him. Of all the players in my mock deals, SS Luis Garcia of the Nationals may be my favorite. The kid is 18-years-old in High-A ball and hitting .319 with a K-rate of only 12%. His future scouting grades have him as 60 run, 60 arm, 55 field, 50 power, and 45 hit. But so far he's hit .300+ at all 3 levels he has played at since being a 16-year-old in rookie ball.

Machado deal structure "in place"

I'm a bit confused here. Is the implication that the Orioles don't know how to properly give physicals? Because I don't get why a Dodgers player having an issue with a physical reflects poorly on the Orioles. -

Angry? What do I have to be angry about? I'm merely confused at how you are possibly extrapolating random conjecture in to actual news. Diaz and May have been the only names linked to by any major reporters, and even then, Diaz is the only one they all seem to agree upon. Multiple people have asked you where you are seeing the final names of the deal being reported, and you don't seem to have any source or real answer. But anyway... -

You mean this...?? "I wonder if they get C Connor Wong and then maybe some lottery ticket guys like Starling Heredia and Robinson Ortiz." FUCK, did I just manifest a trade by wondering aloud about possible players? Quick, let me think of another! *massages temples with all 10 fingers* I've got it! I wonder if the Sox could trade Soria to the Nationals for something like Juan Soto and Victor Robles. *Furiously refreshes Ken Rosenthal's twitter account* -

I've seen two names, Yasniel Diaz and Dustin May. Baltimore could have done better in the winter (or last July when everyone thought it would happen). -
I hope it's permanent and I hope he gets funneled down the Andrew Miller/Josh Hader route of 2 IP per appearance route every 3 days or so.

"Just did"? Are you living in the future and got drunk? We have no idea what the return is yet.... -
Since hardly anyone is actually throwing out deal offers like the OP suggested.... Soria, or Soria + Cash for.... Houston: For C Garrett Stubbs and P Corbin Martin Cleveland: OF Connor Capel and P Eli Morgan Rockies: 2B Tyler Nevin and P Peter Lambert Nationals: SS Luis Garcia and OF Daniel Johnson Braves: P Kolby Allard and C William Contreras

You don't know what the level of return is now, and do you even know what the offers were in the winter? How could you possibly come to this conclusion, when logic would dictate the opposite should be true? -

Yusniel Diaz (#4 Prospect) Dustin May (#10 Prospect) and Errol Robinson (#18 Prospect) is what is floating around on twitter, but not sure where those specific names came from, so it may just be the same erroneous report circulating. -

Apparently it's Diaz and FOUR other prospects, possibly Dustin May, who is having a monster season in A+. As for the other 3, I wonder if they get C Connor Wong and then maybe some lottery ticket guys like Starling Heredia and Robinson Ortiz. -

Agree. I don't think Machado to the Dodgers does anything to hurt our chances of signing him next year. -
Kanny game is an early one, and so far the opposing pitcher has walked the first 3 batters, which includes Madrigal who is batting #3 in their line-up, playing 2B.

Despite Luis Gonzalez's power being way down since his promotion to W-S, I love that the dude has trimmed his K-rate by 6%. It was only 22.4% in Kanny, which is fine, but now it's only 16.3% so far in W-S. I'm not familiar enough with Kanny's park vs. W-S's park to know if the drop in power is park factor related, but as long as he keeps that average over .300 and keeps the K-rate nice and low, I'm ok with it right now.

Yoelvin Silven is a just-turned (same birthday as me) 19 year old kid the Sox signed in May. So far in the DSL, he has thrown 31 IP, has allowed 25 H, 7 ER, 1 HR for a 2.01 ERA. Best of all, he has only 5 BB to 42 K so far. That's a K9 over 12, and a BB9 under 1.5. That will play, young man. And there is absolutely dick to be found about this kid.

So this has to result in the Hawks trading for some well paid veteran on a bad or rebuilding team, right? I don't follow the rest of the league closely enough to think of trade candidates off the top of my head, but I know I've seen Joel Skinner's name mentioned. Brendan Gallagher? Chris Kreider? Brandon Sutter? No idea. -
Humidity? No idea.

Jordan Guerrero is being a dude right now.

Hypothetical: Would you trade Moncada for Arenado?
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Buehrlesque's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Then if no extension is agreed upon, then no deal is consummated. No loss for the Sox. -
RF Logan Sowers out of IU is having a good start to his pro career. Great Falls is probably not much of a challenge out of college, but he's OPSing 1.000 right now. Even though is K-rate is a little high (24%), he's walking a good amount (14%). Although I did just read an article that said he was going to be drafted in the 4th RD in 2014 out of HS, but told teams he wouldn't be signing. So he went from 4th RD to 28th RD. Yikes.

And Steele Walker has an oblique issue. This is becoming comical.

If you could guarantee an extension, yes.
