  1. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) Why Peavy is not showing me anything. At least Zambrano will take the ball every 5th day and give your team a chance. Peavy looks like he does not want to pitch. As goofy as Zambrano is he keeps his team in the game and has intensity which this team sorely lacks. Peavy had one nice start and nothing in the other 3. He is not even giving his team a chance to win. Yeah, 3-2 is insurmountable. People seriously need to get off the ledge before you get a hernia.
  2. Nix>Vizquel? Or am I just crazy?? At least Kotsay is out of the 5-hole....
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) He should be booed by anyone with a mind. He SHOULD have pissed off any Chicagoan for his made up stories about the school system. This. Should be booed MUCH more than AJ gets booed at other places.
  4. Jordan Danks and an automatic. http://www.facebook.com/#!/video/video...v=1334861985342 He seems to have a lot more personality than his brother. I have seen some videos of him on Youtube, and he seems to be a very personable and outgoing guy.
  5. That's pretty good. Smart move to throw on a different face that worked.
  6. Wear a Sox hate, and with marker or something but "S" in front of the logo, and "R" in front of the U so it says "SCRUBS"
  7. My finals are the first week of May, but I have a big 10-page paper that is due in a week that I have not started.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) I'll take him if they pay his salary and put him in our 5th starter spot. They wont find anyone to take that salary, unless they trade for someone like, oh I dont know, Milton Bradley Yeah, I would take him too if they paid $10M or so. I know he is a Sox fan, and has said multiple times he would like to play here before his career is over.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) What the hell? Zambrano = reliever? What a waste of nearly $20 million. Oh man, that's really funny. They already have an awful rotation, now they are taking out their 2nd or 3rd best pitcher?
  10. QUOTE (Ranger @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 01:53 AM) Seriously, it's a momentum kind of thing. It's just a pretty natural motion to make after you take a swing and are trying to straighten up to run to first if you're a right handed hitter. Jermaine Dye did it. I used to do it 100 years ago when I played and I never thought anything of it. I never liked Sammy Sosa and people that hated him used to hate that hop of his. But it was the one thing about him that didn't bother me because I understood it, even though he exaggerated it. I'm not questioning why he does it, I am just questioning whether this is something new he does, or just something I never noticed before. This is the first year I have noticed seeing him do this.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 10:39 AM) Tap it. You'll have the most legendary, "how i met my significant other post" ever. Besides, i've been waiting to see how a pickup line that starts with, "So, i saw a picture of you on a baseball site that i frequent on the internet..." works out. No chance like the present. Haha, but I have known her for 2 years now, it's hardly a "I saw you in some guy's avatar" meeting.
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 12:16 PM) I'm not sure how you missed the point so badly: "Clearly he has been pretty consistent from LHP to RHP, or at least has never shown a reason to say "Wow, this guy can't hit righties". He has maintained similar averages while keeping the power up. So why is Ozzie so stuck on Andruw never seeing a RHP?" It wasn't about Jones crushing RHP, it was about him being more or less identical vs either LHP or RHP. Exactly. My point is not to say Jones is better at hitting RHP, but there is hardly a difference between RHP and LHP hitting over his career to justify him not facing any righthanders.
  13. A caller to The Score last night made this suggestion that I would not mind seeing.... He said bat Rios leadoff, and Pierre 2nd. Rios has ability to get on base, and is arguably our best hitter right now (who is not banging HRs) who has good speed. He said with Rios on base, the 1B would have to hold him on, creating a gap on the right side where Juan Pierre would be able to slap groundballs in that 1B hole. Beckham would then bat 3rd, with Quentin 4th, and Konerko 5th. Basically...... 1) Rios 2) Pierre 3) Beckham 4) Quentin 5) Konerko 6) Jones 7-9 This offense sucks right now, so I would not mind seeing Rios and Pierre as the tandem.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 01:20 AM) Haha, we always flirt and hug eachother at work, not for real, but just for laughs. But yeah, I'd bang her.
  15. Ok, for whatever reason, the problem is fixed! I have done nothing but shut my laptop down before I went to the gym, and now it's fine. Even the post someone made showing me the picture has changed to the Cubs scoreboard. Crazy s***.
  16. Where does Ozzie get in his head that Jones can't hit right-handed pitching??? 2009: LHP: 119 AB, .218 AVG, 4 HR (29.7 AB) RHP: 162 AB, .210 AVG, 13 HR (12.4 AB) 2008: LHP: 73 AB, .178 AVG, 2 HR (36.5 AB) RHP: 136 AB,.137 AVG, 1 HR (136 AB) 2007: LHP: 182 AB, .225 AVG, 10 HR (18.2 AB) RPH: 390 AB,.221 AVG, 16 HR (24.3 AB) 2006: LHP: 127 AB, .260 AVG, 10 HR (12.7 AB) RHP: 428 AB, .261 AVG, 31 HR (13.8 AB) 2005: LHP: 125 AB, .256 AVG, 9 HR (13.8 AB) RHP: 461 AB, .265 AVG, 42 HR (10.9 AB) 2004: LHP: 151 AB, .265 AVG, 7 HR (21.6 AB) RHP: 419 AB, .260 AVG, 22 HR (19 AB) 2003: LHP: 131 AB, .260 AVG, 11 HR (11.9 AB) RHP: 464 AB, .282 AVG, 25 HR (18.5 AB) 2002: LHP: 79 AB, .229 AVG, 2 HR (40 AB) RHP: 481 AB, .270 AVG, 33 HR (14.5 AB) Clearly he has been pretty consistent from LHP to RHP, or at least has never shown a reason to say "Wow, this guy can't hit righties". He has maintained similar averages while keeping the power up. So why is Ozzie so stuck on Andruw never seeing a RHP?
  17. Anyone else notice this? Not sure if he was doing it last year, but this is the first I have really noticed it. Seems like of his 5 HR this year, he has done it in 3 or 4 of them, and it's generally on balls that he pulls.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Clear your cache. Just did, and I still see it.....
  19. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) and to think i was beginning to forget what a win looked like....Go SOX! And I was beginning to forget what my friend looked like.....until I saw your avatar.... lol
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 09:07 PM) Do we bring Danks back out for absolutely no reason? Hopefully not. 99 pitches is good place to stop.
  21. Just saw Andruw's HR on baseball tonight. Looked like a real strong swing, and he finished it with his bat more level than previously. Looked like a really strong swing without as much uppercut motion.
  22. Andruw is hitting HR at a better clip than V. Wells, Chase Utley, Matt Kemp, Jose Guillen, Albert Pujols, and Dustin Pedroia. The only 2 players who have more HR than Jones at a better clip is Nelson Cruz, and Ty Wiggington.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Why, it's the job of the manager to anticipate the next move. Because it's not like loading up the bases with 1 outs is a bad move. If they pitch to Rios, it's a positive, if they walk the bases loaded, it's a positive. Neither result is bad for the Sox. Maybe his lack of confidence in AJ shows his confidence in Teahen and Ramirez to be able to get the job done. Bunting runners over with 0 outs is not something unheard of. I know calling for Ozzie to be fired is a very popular thing right now, but not every move he makes is criticism worthy.
