Oneli really wants to show he is still a ML huh? .1 IP, 5 runs given up.....wow. And the runners on are his, a single off Vasquez now makes it 7 runs for Oneli in his .1 IP. Sheeeesh. Vasquez closes the door. 8-8 tie going into the bottom 9th. Looks like Swish will have to get his 2nd walk-off win coming up in the 9th. -
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 04:51 AM) What's a backup catcher's primary duties? Be good defensively, handle the pitchers well, and throw base runners out. The bat comes last, and last time I checked AJ batting right handed with one hand against lefties would be an upgrade over a torn labrum Hall. Hey, all I am saying is that you generally want your backup catcher to be batting on the opposite side of the plate as your primary catcher. This complements him.

QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) Ha ha... I don't know how he would feel about me giving that out, hope you can understand. I do know however, that if you email him from his website, he will respond to your email. It might take him time, but he will get back to you sooner or later. lol. Funny you mention that. Nick and I also talk via email. He just sent me a reply back actually.

Matt Anderson threw a scoreless, 1 hit inning today. -
We should have Cole Armstrong as our backup over Hall. Hall sucks, and Armstrong has looked good. Only problem is that they are both lefthanded. :/

Reggie Willits Trade Idea
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to joeynach's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Yeah, i too suggested interest in him a couple months back... http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62459 I suggested Willits and Ervin Santana for Crede and a few other peices. Both Willits and Santana are being blocked (Santana is the #6 starter basically). -
Sucks we traded for Richar because I hope Alexei can take over at 2B. Could have kept Cunningham. >

Sexi Lexi!! Bases loaded, 3 RBI Triple! No throw, with a slight boble, he could have had an in the parker.

Split squad thread Sox vs. DBacks 03/02
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to joejoesox's topic in 2008 Season in Review
Swisher is es beast. 2 HR today. Very Nice! -
Seems Uribe got a little greedy stretching a double into a triple, but Liefer and Quentin score nonetheless. 4-0 Sox.
-
I think im getting a little to excited from such a small sample, but I love that Dotel just had a 1-2-3 inning, and his K was on a pitch in the dirt (unless AJ just dropped it). He must have had some sick movement on it.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Feb 29, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) i really don't want lowry - the guy has terrible peripherals. I don't want him either, but that's just what I hear. Lowry is really only surviving on name alone. He used to be highly touted like Lincecum is.
-
Whooh! Uribe singles, advances to 2nd on the throwing error. Wild pitch gets him to 3rd. Owens walks, Cabrera then singles in Uribe. Thome then singles in Owens from 2nd. Wild pitch puts O-Cab on 3rd, Thome to 2nd, and then Dye pops out. 2-0 White Sox, bottom 3rd

Mother F'ing Gameday sucks. Has been stuck on Webb vs. Quentin for like 15 mins now. A freeze like this is usually a sign of a new pitcher, or new hitter. Im guessing a pitcher, with Webb only getting 2 innings in. EDIT: Yep. Bill Buckner replaces him.
-
Ship em Uribe and Crede for Cain!! But realistically, maybe Lowry and Correria, or a prospect infielder because we are absolutely barren in that area.

QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) "Wood" and "attitude" don't rhyme, unless you have a crazy accent/don't know how to pronounce words It's clearly a slant ryhme, geeez.

Trade: Want your opinion
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to ChWRoCk2's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
I would do ANY of those deals really. Reject em all! -
Wait. Does this mean Cubs logo's, and stuff all over the ballpark? If this means Cubs flags, Cubs logos, or anything else decorated in the ballpark, then forget it.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 05:53 PM) But the players coming back in those deals certainly won't be enough to "re-tool" the minor leagues. At this point in time, Crede and Uribe are "spare parts" and Dye isn't very far off. He is a bad RF, and would make a above average DH. He just isn't going to bring back that much in any deal. He has much more value to the Sox than he does to anyone else at this point. Unfortunately Tony, it wouldn't take much to re-tool our minors. Fill them with 2-3 B prospects in return from a trade of those 3, and we significantly upgrade our farm.

Peter Gammons wrong about White Sox
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) Peter Gammons gets ripped a lot. I like him very much, for what it's worth. But his memory, and editors, let him down in his latest Angels article. He might have been meaning before the 2006 season, right after we won the WS. I still don't think we were top5, but at least top10 im sure. EDIT: Actually, after looking it up I noticed we had the 4th highest payroll in 2006. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 05:45 PM) Yes, they do. Danny Richar. He's graduated from every minor league level, he's earned his way up to the big leagues despite starting off very raw in the D-Backs organization, the team traded one of their better prospects to get him...he deserves a decent chance to learn the big league game before someone else is automatically given the job. And Hell, in only his 2nd full month he pushed his OPS up to .760. Right, but right now Richar is in Ozzie's doghouse because of the visa problems. With those 2 weeks he just lost, he will really have to play his ass off in ST (im talking around .350 BA) to take the job away from Uribe. The best we can hope for is Sexi Lexi coming through and showing off how "scrappy" he can be, and then making it over Uribe. I propose we trade Crede, Uribe, and Dye to some team that can eat those salaries, and re-tool the minor leagues. But of course things like that never quite work out.
