  1. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) Day giving it up - BA made a nice catch at the wall with the sun blinding him to put an end to the blood letting. 5-2 Rox now after Day gives up 3. Great just great. I guess the good news to these 5 runs is that 3 were giving up by someone who wasn't making the team anyway, and 1 of the other 2 was unearned.
  2. Updates would be nice. Mother F'ing gameday is stuck on Wasserman vs. Holliday.... >(
  3. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) I'm guessing this won't be broadcasted on TV. Anyone know when the first televised game will be? I think it's Monday, March 3rd. As of now it's only on MLB.tv
  4. Owens has been scratched. Jason Buergois (sp?) took his spot in LF i beleive, with Anderson to center.
  5. Richar arrived at camp today. I look for him maybe to see some action this weekend. He is surely going to be in Ozzie's doghouse, but he really won't have to worry a whole lot because 2B is really thin talent wise (unless ARam turns out really well).
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Bobby had no choice, the Sox decide how much to pay him, he has no say in the matter. They'll soon do the same with the likes of John Danks, Gavin Floyd, Ehren Wasserman, Boone Logan, Nick Masset, Jerry Owens, Josh Fields and Danny Richar (assuming they make the team.) When a player has fewer than 3 years of service time he's at the mercy of the team when it comes time to sign their deal for the season. Ah, thanks. I just skimmed the title and didnt really read the article.
  7. Wow, a player not getting gready? Haven't seen that since Paul Konerko. Good for you Bobby.
  8. I used to be in a league on another forum. I was the chicago white sox of course. There is a chance this league continues, but the people who ran it have not updated it in a week now, so I think it's dead. Here is the link to the site, you can check out my team. I have a lot of young players, and I a lot of good minor league pitchers I want to develop. http://usmlb.50g.com/mlbsimleague/leagues/...e_100_home.html
  9. I wonder what that tattoo is that Brian has on his left bi-cep.
  10. Mark Buehrle was injured yesterday. Not major, but he has some soreness in his shoulder. He will miss Monday's intrasquad game, and pitch Friday vs. Arizona.
  11. went with Uribe. I think he is the starter at 2B right now, and isnt THAT farfetched that he hits .270.
  12. I liked the number 27 better. My favorite number is 24, so maybe Crede can be traded soon, and Josh can switch to 24 then!
  13. Anyone got a Spring training one for 2008?
  14. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 07:47 PM) whitesox.com you gotta click on another audio or video clip, then you will have access to it, Ozzie & Havy have commercials too I found it. But of course, it won't play. However, i did see the Gavin Floyd interview, and MAN is he hard to listen to. Kid doesn't know what to say more than not. And I saw the Konerko interview, and he was REALLY tiptoeing around trying to be very very careful with his words. lol. He just kept revising every sentence he spoke.
  15. Best was Quentin trade. Worse was Garland trade. (made AFTER Uribe re-signed. It needed to be done at the time because it was gaurenteed we could even get Cabrera).
  16. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 05:34 PM) This is on the Sox site now. Hawk haters will really hate it. Link?
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) Our 1st look at Alexei Ramirez... Sneaky Cuban stole Swisher's bat!
  18. Please tell me this isn't to a major league deal.....
  19. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 21, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) This is the kind of s*** you read about every year. Everyone is either in the best shape of their lives and looking amazing come the first few days of spring training. Unless your name is Juan Uribe.....
  20. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) I feel great about him THIS year. I'm a huge fan of Danks and I even have expectations for him this season. To the few Danks fans here. Ah, I meant next year as in the season that starts in 5 weeks. Not as in 2009. Call me extrememly optimistic about Danks, but I am feeling a 12 win season, with an ERA in the mid-to-low 4's.
  21. Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere else, but Danks has learned a cutter, and appearantly its very impressive. It's being compared to Buehrle's cutter, and Fields took a few AB's vs. Danks today, and said that the cutter was "nasty" and even better than Danks had been raving about. God I hope this is for real. If Danks has mastered a cutter, then I really really feel good about him next year. With Floyd being praised beyong belief, Danks appearant "sick" cutter, and MacDougal doing really well, there is a LOT to be excited about these Spring Training games.
  22. If Owens steals 65 bags next year, then we must have been having a pretty good year. Or Quentin injuried himself.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 09:52 PM) You want him to stay. Convince him within a short period of time to fire his agent Boras who will get him riches, and take a contract that will be slighted towards the whitesox. Eitherwise say goodbye your likeable guy. I didn't say I wanted him to stay..... Im just defending the people who happen to like Crede, and would like to see him turn things around and be able to stay with the Sox, whether it be intil July or not.
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 09:47 PM) Considering we already have a 12 man bullpen set up, trying something like that would wind up leaving the Sox with a 3 man bench. 2 after Toby Hall. Well if that were the case were Colon was here to split time, then a reliever would go to AAA, and the one who is not pitching would maybe come out of the bullpen on that 5th day. Conteras maybe goes 5 innings, and then Colon comes and takes the last 3 before handing the save over to Jenks (Yes, wishful thinking).
  25. Could Colon just be an emergency option for Contreras? Maybe since they both have AARP cards, they will switch off starts? I dont see that as a wise financial decision, but maybe Kenny is not worried about the money (see Uribe, Linebrink).
