  1. well i hate to say it but .. its what i expected out of Floyd. If someone was to ask before the season what two young pitching duos would do better Kennedy/Hughes or Floyd/Danks, 80% would have probably went with the yanks. It is just nice to see Floyd showing why he was so highly ranked. I also like players that people always put the "down" on so I was hoping Floyd would really show what he was made of.
  2. Blog by Suntimes Assistant Sports Editor, Roman Modrowski. It was in the weekend paper, thought I would find it on the web.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) Gamethread is dead right now. We got 13 people in chat so if you actually want to discuss the game, I suggest getting in there. well it was a joke ...... but i may wander in
  4. nice to see a 87-0 vote Frank definitely deserves it
  5. i think we're due for a ... nevermind just look at my member name and realize that this post would have gone no where.
  6. This is why i have a mancrush on CQ and he is my favorite player while the big guy down low is honing his skills
  7. Pretty Good. Top 10 from 2002 #1 is Robin Ventura on Nolan Ryan. Some other good ones on there like George Bell and Big Mo dominates him. I like the Sweeney one.
  8. North Dakota lost to Boston College 6-1 which is nuts cuz North Dakota was the 3rd overall team in the tourney and they are full of studs like T.J. Oshie(going to be wearing rival blue sweater next season) Notre Dame started their game against Michigan 3-0 now its 4-4 with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd i wanted a ND-ND game but thats no more, atleast like to see Notre Dame in it
  9. Konerko wants another ... so do we lets make it happen
  10. Ocab hot grounder to lamb and bounces off of him like i said we got Uribe on 2nd, Ocab on 1st, 1 Dead Thome up at the plate
  11. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 07:50 PM) Provided there's no DP, we've got 3 chances to hit a 2-run HR. Let's do it. or Ocab could get on and Thome and Konerko can have a chance for a 3 run .. but we are getting ahead .. i jsut want runs
  12. i like players who hit 2 HR's in a game .. .....Swisher?
  13. It has seemed that Jaun Uribe has gotten on base via the Walk
  14. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 07:35 AM) They also fired another Bill Wirtz lackey as well, head of marketing or something. Jim Demaria
  15. QUOTE (sox-r-us @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 05:47 PM) Looks like someone is bitter yeah cuz every where in that post was me being bitter ... all your doing is trying to look for something .. im pretty sure i just gave a nod to crede, leave it to inconsiderate people to try and start something though
  16. This thread shouldnt have even been started. What Crede did today is why he is up here is it not? Just dont get your panties in a bunch when Crede leaves this season because his agent thinks he can get more then 15 mil a year and thats all i'll say, and its all that is needed to say. Its 7 games. And why was I wrong about Joe Crede? Pretty sure we know what he did in 06 we should just be glad he is not one of the players that careers fizzle with a bad back injury.
  17. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 11:47 PM) Since BS said it... you should probably sit him. Seriesly? So for these 3 games I think the matchups are Javy/Blackburn -- Danks/Baker -- Contreras/Livan Slowey would have been the pitcher for the 3rd game but he got hurt in his first start
  18. Out of those 4 the 2 I would pick would be Swish and Quentin and I would probably give it to Swisher. If Swisher did not have the game he had tonight theres no chance, but a HR and 2 rbis then you add in all the walks he gets and getting on base. How about A.J. in these first 6 games he has 7 rbi's he had 6 in all of April last season hah
  19. Suppose to be like 58 tomorrow, partly cloudy. Good Opener. Can not wait to see this game, and I'll go out on a limb here and say the same lineup tonight will go tomorrow(yeah im a daredevil)
  20. QUOTE(lostfan @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) Is he a soft-tosser or a nasty flamethrower? his fastball is in the 90's and has a lot of movement on it. I believe he throws a Curve and a Change along with it, but not sure. I am sure he has a 4th pitch too, but he throws that fastball alot. So i would go with Flamethrower if i had to pick one
  21. Hes a 26 year old pitcher whose first healty year was last season and he dominated. He had a horrible knee/leg injury that made him wear a brace when he pitched and really effected it. He has great stuff and he is a pitcher that wont strike out a bunch of batters(just under 5 k's per 9 innings) but he wont let a lot of batters get on base.(under 1 whip)
  22. Ill be home in plenty of time to watch this game tomorrow, and I can not wait. Blackburn looks to be a great pitcher, but I hope we get the best of him and Javy bounces back. Twins are a real jump on the first and second pitch type team, which is why Garland looked so good against them, but not so much against the Rangers. 5! 5! 5! 5! 5!
  23. Whitesox Winner Well done Mac, cant blame him since Q dropped that, but he got out of it 4-2!
