  1. You never know the season could very well come down to the month of April. We play the Wings and Preds at home then go to Detroit. It would have been great to beat the Preds on saturday and it killed me to watch Radulov put that one in pass Habby, but yesterdays win was great to watch as the Easter fest around me was going on. 4 points out -- just saying that you have to be happy to be where we are as of today. Colorado looks like they are going to fall on their ass and I hope to god they do. Also who was the only person(of the main people that post in this thread) to actually be happy with the Ladd for Ruutu deal. I hope you choose wisely
  2. Great deal for the Tigers, and to some that thought Miggy would ever be wearing a Whitesox uniform sorry to hear that your dream that was slim to none to begin with it over. Josh Fields is better anyways. I figured I would throw it in the middle and then just write a lot of stuff after that comment to see if anyone will call me out on it. Anyways who wants to be locked in to Detroit for 8 years I would be asking out after 3-4 years. Detroit sucks and has probably the worst downtown. Ugly.
  3. He'll probably go to the Rays. They have been looking for a 4th outfielder and were actually going to look into trading for Reed but in-division trades dont happen, so this just gives them a chance to add him

Real nice article. I thought it was a little out there that he called Gavin Floyd a straight out failed prospect, but I guess he deserves it for what his overall potential was slated for. I still think he could do very well. Hes only 24-25 years old and Fields is 25 and look where he is now, no one said he was going to be A-Rod type, but he looks like he will be someone that we can actually say our minors did right with. I still wish Richar got a re-do for spring training. He could have done many things to avoid other things and it all starts with the visa. Players are told to get it weeks before they leave and he asked for it a day or two before he was suppose to get here. Anyways the so called 4 man battle for 2nd became 3 real fast(with Ozzie saying Pablo really had no chance) then 2(Richar coming late and injuries) and then 1(people were finally upset not getting to the buffet with Uribe around) so Alexei has basically gotten a free pass to start, but has stayed convincing to make it look good. If he wasnt hitting over .300 then yes Uribe probably wouldnt have been put on any waivers, but what the writer says about the straight fastballs hes been getting is interesting if lexi is ready for full-time action. As for Fields I still think his only problems are extremely minor ones that anyone can say the minors will fix just to say it and make people happy. Kenny should have taken out the garbage last week cause it is really smelly this week.
  5. Bulin Wall will be in net today I just hope the Wall is just as strong as Wednesday I love that 2nd line we put out there. Sharp-Bolland-Ladd The 3rd one is weird because its all of our "veteran" players and then you look at the other 3 lines and its all the "young kids" to say. The 3rd line is Perrault-Lang-Williams, and if I remember right all 3 of those are written as Centers, but I like Williams at Winger
  6. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 21, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) The quandry is, though, that to make Khabi more attractive in trade, I think the Hawks would have to play him now to show that the injuries are behind him. He's had a weird year health-wise and I think that could make other teams a little skittish if he sits out the rest of the games this year. You can't play Crawford to see what you have in him without slightly damaging your chances to deal Khabibulin, unless other teams are more focused on Khabi's track record over the years and getting him checked out before working a deal. Well Savvy said Wednesday night that Habby would be in net tomorrow, obviously kinda hard not to. If his first game back wasnt a good showing, I hope to god he has another great game tomorrow. To come back though in a buzzed atmosphere that night with Tony O and play up to that level was just amazing to see live. I still dont like the guy though. Did anyone see his after game interview with Josh Mora. Holy .... I dont have it front of me or anything but him saying it was nice to wear my old number out there in warmups(referring to Lalime/Habby wearing #35 with Esposito on the back in honor of him) Then when Mora and everyone wanted to hype up the shutout on Tony O night he just wouldnt let it happen. He also said it was hard to stay loose and warmed up with the ceremony. Honestly .. wow
  7. I would give it a week before Anderson is watching his back to make sure Ozzie isnt coming after him. Anderson is trying to hit himself out of Chicago, in my opinion.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 21, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) Someone the other day was asking why the Sox settled on Danks and Floyd when they could have gone after someone like Joe Blanton in the A's firesale. I think this is why. nice credit given to the score in that article
  9. Awesome game tonight to go see. The game was just amazing. Habby had an outstanding save to keep the shutout wow.
  10. Crede needs to be gone, cant say that anymore then I have in the past -- Just get it down Kenny
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) I get to see ovechkin on wednesday, pretty excited about that. Yeah I wish they were still in contention but what the hell its gonna be a good game to see
  12. on top of Brouwer and Kontiola there are many other names like Colin Frasor, Versteeg, and Blunden. Then you add on the likes of Skille who did well in his short showing up in NHL.
  13. No Hawk talk tonight eh Hawk Winner -- 6-3 over the Blue Jackets Scorers: Barker, Keith, Bolland, Kane, Buff, Ladd
  14. I pick Josh Fields. Knightni didnt even mention him in his post and then not even in the poll. There may be a lot of Crede Fans but everyone talks about him and maybe Fields gets mentioned with him. You dont see much on Fields though
  15. I dont really know where to put it .. so how about here Detroit Lions released RB Kevin Jones -- Former 1st rounder 30th pick Had a great rookie season then just got dominated by injuries. 04 was his only 15 game season 241 rushes 1133 rushing yards He got released because Lions want to give majority to Tatum Bell -- Jones is only 25(26 in August) and I think he would be a solid pickup
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 01:10 AM) DT needs to get creative this off-season, and needs to make a gamble. When the season is over, not only will the Hawks have an a solid, young, core in front of them, but also a decent collection of talent in the A and around the world. Brouwer Skille Bickell Brophey Kontiola Blunden Sweatt Aliu...you get the idea. Tallon needs to figure out what to do with this collection. Clearly, all those players aren't going to pan out. Half won't. However, Tallon and his scouts need to take a long, hard look at what is in the cupboard, and determine who is a keeper, and who can be moved. With guys like Brouwer and Skille, while they still are incredibly young, it's becoming make or break time for the in the NHL. If Dale thinks they can't shake it, then move them now while they still have value. Hawks will have a little bit on money to play with this summer, and I expect Rocky will let DT push the payroll to the cap, or damn well near it. He just can't let himself get caught up in signing someone to a huge contract, because there will be a ton of money to play with after next year, with Havlat-Bulin-Lang all coming off the books. Wheres Colin Frasor!!? heh I like that kid
  17. QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) I mean, why not? Who knows the base paths better than Ricky Henderson? I think the Stolen Base King could do this club some good, IF Cox doesn't work out. Thoughts? maybe ask him to come back and jump in for contension in center too
  18. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 7, 2008 -> 09:50 AM) It's awful. It's awful x2 Lets hope the Hawks win tonight .. gonna be a fun game to watch .... on TV .. ohhhhhhhhhhh im going to the Esposito night on March 19th so cant wait for that one
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) Wow, what a time to be playing your best hockey. That's 9 out of 12 now. Big time game from Crawford tonight. You knew the Ducks were going to come out in the 3rd and really have a red hot go, and Crawford stood up beautifully. Unfortunately, Phoenix beat Dallas in Dallas, so we are still behind them. I think we're only 4 points back of 8th now though, even in games. 5 straight wins at home if i remember correctly 7. Colorado -- 76 8. Nashville -- 76 9. Vancouver - 74 10. Phoenix - 73 11. Chicago - 72 thats what it looks like right now .. Vancouver looks to be in a downfall .. Phoenix beat Dallas 2-1 tonight
  20. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 10:00 PM) Slapshot? goalies like slapshots?

  23. Toews could have gotten one there .. damn it PP time
  24. it has gone from Ducks having 6 shots with like 6 minutes left in the 2nd to 16 shots .. jesus .. Crawford is really strong tonight .. we need one more goal
