  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 10:56 PM) If you're Javon Walker, do you want to go to a team that would have either Orton or Grossman starting, or a team such as the Cowboys who has a far better option at QB? I thought I said that ... ? and knightni .. i didnt say sign him .. I said the two OL i think they should sign ... alright though
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Briggs settled for 6/36? Ummm, wow. That's huge for the Bears. I actually am not surprise he is back, I just read your post from the other day from the guy who said he wasnt going to stay. What it comes down to is that teams didnt value him that high, and his agent lied to him saying he would get so much money. He could have signed two seasons ago, but its a break that the Bears get him now for another 6 years starting the next season. Urlacher may still get a little bit of a raise ask he asked for and according to Berrien the Bears stayed in the race til the end. I would be excited for a Javon Walker signing that would be fantastic, but I dont see it happening. Receivers dont go to a team blindfolded so they dont know what QB is throwing him, everyone knows are QB situation and unless we find money we dont have we will just be looking in the draft. On top of Jamar Williams being the replacement to possibly hillenmeyer, dont forget our draft pick last season which was Owko. I remember the pick so much because I wanted Trent Edwards(Buff QB), I was so pissed. Our draft strategy changes drastically with the bitter sweet day. I think its well over 50% that we drop down in the draft to a late 1st, pick up Sweed(his stock is rising), and pick up an 2 OL in the 2nd round(ours and another teams picks). This also changes if we fork money to a FA OL, but theres only one major OL impact out there and thats Faneca who wants pretty much the exact deal Briggs received. I think there is two OL that I would take a real strong look at and that is Shane Olivea, who is 26 and was on the Chargers. The other is Jacob Bell, who is 26 and was on the Titans. Those guys would be nice pickups for our line and give us some stress relief. On top of that I am very surprise to see that the Jags traded Marcus Stroud to the Bills.
  3. I dont know if this is anywhere -- Moose signed back with the Panthers, interesting
  4. Ruutu came to the rink 15 minutes before the Cane game and had an assist on 1 of the Samsonov goals. Ruutu had an assist in his first game with the Hurricanes, but wound up with a bloodied face after he was clipped by New Jersey LW Patrik Elias' stick. Team officials said about 40 stitches were needed to close the wound. that sucks for him, but I am all for him having a good season with the Canes, idk if they re-sign him, but who knows they might. I think Ladd will be a great add for us, and I hope he can shoot down the "are we going to regret this" talk. I was talking to a kid today who said ... -- have you ever seen Ladd hit? he cant finish -- atleast seeing that in some quotes I am glad he is doing it I just can not wait to watch tonight, mostly cause it is a Hawks game. Also I read on a UND(North Dakota) forum that the trade that fell through with Lang was to the Devils for C Zach Parise. If that is actually true, kill me now -- but I hope to god that it isnt just so I know it wasnt going to happen in the first place hah
  5. --Canadiens asked about Martin Havlat after Pens stepped up for Hossa, but obviously nothing worked out. --Blackhawks had deal in place for Lang, but fell through. Ducks and Devils were interested. also I think that the Staal talks get hotter in the off-season. I am also bringing this up cause I still want him here, but in the off-season more things will be known, With Hossa(if he leaves then a big need of winger pops up again for the Pens) and if Malkin asks for that 9-10 mil then maybe we can crack a deal with them. Glad to see Jason Williams didnt end up being traded, and for the most part the Lang trade probably wouldnt have been big so I am alright with him staying cuz he is now our sole veteran pressence(oh and I decided not to count Yanic and Kevyn Adams)
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 03:22 PM) The deadline came and went at 3:00 ET. kinda like this one F - BRANDON BOCHENSKI 4:30 PM FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS they dont get official for a while
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 03:22 PM) The deadline came and went at 3:00 ET. yeah .. i was giving it til 4 .. for extension situations ... ala your avatar
  8. can we actually see a line of Ladd-Toews-Kane .. in the future ... that be nuts I mean Ladd is a former top 5 pick and a true LWinger. I dig that trade more and more ... theres like 45 minutes left in the deadline ... it would be nice to see another trade
  9. what a bummer so far .. I was hoping to come home to Jordan Staal talk of how great he will be on the hawks. I am not surprised the Pens were able to get Hossa. If anyone reads my posts they were not high on Christensen. Armstrong is bit of a surprise to give up, but its what they had to give. Crosby is already making 6.8 or some figure, and Malkin is going to want 10 mil if he wins an award this season(so I hear). Staal needs to be a hawk
  10. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 25, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) No... not at all. Lapointe's contract doesn't mean squat at this point. He's gone in three months to whoever gets him and -- pro-rated -- he really isn't making much the rest of this season. Probably around a million or so. In any case it's a non-issue and the Hawks should take whatever draft pick Detroit/Ottawa wants to send here. Hmm... Richards. What is Tampa Bay looking for? Havlat or Khabibulin would have to go the other way, but what else -- a first-rounder and a prospect? Richards hasn't been a whole lot better than Havlat this season, although unlike Havlat he's a good bet to stay healthy. He's had one really outstanding season and the rest have been pretty good but not out-of-this-world (bunch of 70 point seasons). Probably not worth the $7.8 (that number is correct, yes?) million, but having Toews and Richards locked in as your top two centers would be pretty nice. Now I actually have to pay attention tomorrow. I figured the Hawks would cut some dead weight (Lapointe, Perrault, maybe Adams) and be done with it. Sigh -- there goes my morning. yeah its 7.8 ... Habby makes 6.5 and Havlet makes 6 mil .. dont jump all over lapointe and his 1 mil ... its 1 mil and its a trading chip we have ... also its funny on every hockey rumor site it has us as a suiter for every Dman ... though its true
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2008/n...tory?id=3264300 Liriano headed to camp
  12. That makes me happy, I would love him gone. He was good for the role that the Hawks brought him in here for in 05-06, but he needs to go. Also That makes it seem like the Hawks are asking for Staal, and its not forsure if the Penguins are willing to give him up, even though is said they would in that other article. Thoughts are, if we want Staal and they are willing to give him up a deal should already be inked, just my thoughts though. -- adding on to previous stuff. Theres a longer article that you can find on NHL and what not but this quote gives you the info that most of us will care about. That is Brad Richards by the way. 27 year old on the TB Lightning. They told him they were interested in trading him and he gave them 8 teams.
  13. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=230555&hubname=nhl Forsberg .... Atleast to went back to the Avs, anyone else I would have been pissed
  14. Sweeney ... "Chicago is trying to get older guys so they can go back to the World Series," Sweeney said. "They got rid of some of us minor-league guys so they can do that." wtf .. he makes it seem like we went out and traded them for 35 year olds .. but in reality everyone that is "in green" we gave up for people under 30 -- Swisher, Richar, Quentin nice job tho
  15. thank you for posting so i didnt make 4 consec. posts anyways with this loss I think DT has a deal done by tomorrow, the above posts seems like we wont be getting Tanguay. Hopefully the deal with the Penguins is on the table or something and DT just has to tell them yes or no. I have heard nothing more about the Staal stuff so maybe thats really bad or really good how tight they are with the info. If we trade Havlet/Ruutu you cant really trade Lang since then we really have no veteran overshadow on the team unless you want to give Yanic Perrault that duty(god no) I really want to get some nonstop trade talk going on in here though, everyone start looking for articles! --
  16. sue me for the triple post Patrick Lalime ... someone out there loves you
  17. Seabroooooooooooooooooooook thats what we need to get out of our Dmen!
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Well I'll say at least the Bulls have got a pretty deep bench and 10 man rotation now. Bringing Deng off the bench is quite interesting to say the least. Has he been healthy lately? Deng played in the last 2 games and looked pretty healthy, he hadnt played since Jan 21st
  19. great -- CSN+ finally puts it on and we are down 2-0 Lalime gave up the 1st 2 goals and was pulled so nwo we get to see Crawford in net Burish just got into a sweet ass fight, thats why we can trade Ruutu(since he doesnt know how to score anymore) Burish is the man
  20. what the hell ... no hawks .. I get to see the Bulls on 3 channels .. .CSN, ESPN, CSN+
  21. I breathe a sigh of relief here. Thank god I just did not want him
  22. DA HAWKS ... cant wait .. its going to be hard to watch the Bulls and Hawks ... but i guess thats why there are 10 minute intermissions! ......... to go watch the bulls game
