  1. This has to be the worst bullpen in baseball
  2. Meh. Not bad value for a guy who won't get close to 1 WAR for the year. There's a possibility Rosado ends up in the Sox bullpen in a couple years.
  3. I just can't buy that because the Sox were targeting Walker, who is similar to Vargas (former highly ranked prospect struggling in the majors with a good amount of control left).
  4. Either Getz got way too fixated on Vargas (likely), or the other 11 teams interested in Fedde were offering a pile of garbage comparatively.
  5. I'm gonna hold out hope there's more coming from STL to the Sox, otherwise this is a terrible deal that basically assumes Pham and Kopech have negative value, and Edman was basically worth Vargas + 2 prospects by himself.
  6. Sox were clearly targeting a high end prospect down on his luck, given their insistence on Walker from STL. Vargas makes sense from that perspective (MLB #37 in 2023), though I don't understand how this deal works out at all, given STL only gave up Edman. Getz got Getz'd.
  7. It's clearly a leverage point in negotiations to have a 29 year old in AAA instead of MLB, so I don't agree with you there. I don't think it's a bad move, though. Clearly they want him to work on something and are likely holding onto him for the rest of the year. He can be traded next year or in the offseason, likely for more than he'd get now, assuming the velocity, consistency and/or fatigue issues are addressed and he's back to being a solid reliever.
  8. I'd like to see more patience at the place and have that OBP not be so average-driven, but this is more like the guy we thought we'd be getting. Hope he keeps it up.
  9. Was at this game. Nice weather, quick game, and empty stadium so it was easy to get food. Still not sure how they won.
  10. Benintendi is at an .861 OPS over the last 28 days. Hopefully he keeps something near that up and they can make a salary dump for some lotto tickets at the deadline or in the offseason.
  11. I am so not interested in salary dumps, especially not if it lowers the return on a good player. Benintendi needs to play well to get himself out of here.
  12. If you can't get players you think will contribute to a winning major league team then you might as well hold onto him. It doesn't matter what they trade him for if none of the players received have an impact.
  13. In the last month Vaughn has an .893 OPS. We need to stick with him and see if he's finally turned the corner. Abreu can be a coach or sign a one day contract and retire a White Sox. Adding him to the roster would be complete malpractice.
  14. For Crochet or Robert, sure. For other guys he's probably a second piece.
  15. I'd be ok with getting guys like Samuel Zavala back as the second/third piece, then. Build up that next wave of position players. They could also use some of their lesser pieces (like DeJong) to try to get players they project for 2-3 WAR from teams that have some of those types blocked. The Fletcher and DeLoach trades are decent examples, just pick better players please.
  16. I was way better friends with the teams I've been on when we were winning than when we were getting our asses kicked every night.
  17. Same way I feel - Sox were top heavy with multiple top 50s, then nothing really behind them. Pitching depth is VERY encouraging now. Offense still a little bare, but we'll see as guys continue to grow. It's all about development.
