  1. Good stuff. This is the kind of content I like to read here, along with the FutureSox breakdowns. I think Engel is a 3+ WAR player if he's a league average-hitting CF
  2. Whether they win or lose this game it's been pretty enjoyable. As has the season for the most part. Still excited for the future.
  3. Young, inconsistent team. Wish they had a full season to build up to a playoff run next year. They still may make it if they play .500 baseball the rest of the year.
  4. I don't know if its confirmation bias or what but the strike zone for some of the umps is REALLY bad this year.
  5. How are you going to massage ~1200 - 1300 deaths per 24 hour period in the past 3 days or so to show 2000 deaths, when the 2k figure from early May is almost certainly using the same reporting methods that lead to the 1200-1300 figures we're seeing everywhere else, including on the Johns Hopkins website?
  6. I don't know where this is coming from. I couldn't find a direct count but I did find a list of total deaths in the country per day on the Johns Hopkins site - the breakdown is: 8/4 150.5k 8/5 151.8k (+1300) 8/6 153.1k (+1300) This lines up with every other site I've checked. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/us-map
  7. What? No they didn't. Every tracker I see shows ~1200 yesterday (538, COVID Tracker, Worldometers), and a downward trend from late July when we were ~1400. Searching for "Johns Hopkins AFP COVID deaths" on 8/6 I only see articles like this: https://www.channelstv.com/2020/08/06/us-adds-1262-virus-deaths-in-24-hours-johns-hopkins/
  8. Man Yelich is off. Took two hittable pitches - one down the middle and one in that low/inside wheelhouse for lefties.
  9. Bummer was like "I'm just going to throw every pitch on the very bottom right of that strike zone box" like it's MLB 2K on classic pitch or something.
  10. You know I enjoy Stone and Benetti banter
  11. Jose missed two good pitches to hit there.
  12. That's how they're gonna pitch him now for a while. Tons of junk near the plate.
  13. Heuer missing with the fastball now. Don't think I've seen any offspeed either.
  14. 10 runs while leaving the bases loaded (5 outs to score) twice. The potential of this team is so bright.
  15. Not sure why Madrigal was swinging 2-0.
  16. Cishek leaving some in the middle of the plate
  17. The last two hits by Robert were unreal. One handed off-balance double in the gap and an offspeed on his hands he kept fair down the left field line.
  18. This guy has to be hard to hit or see or something. Two awful at-bats.
  19. Yoan picked on that but got underneath it.
  20. I disagree with probably everyone here on everything except White Sox fandom. Oh, and I agree that this is a private platform so free speech is not guaranteed. The mods can enforce whatever they want and if we don't like it we can go somewhere else. Luckily none of them do that, though. This is and has been the absolute best place to discuss White Sox baseball, and I've been coming here since 2001? 2002? I don't even remember the exact year or even my original account name. What I do know is I'd be happy to chip in a few bucks to help keep the lights on. Ever think about a Patreon or other donation site? Also, man... I sure hope Kopech and Vanessa are doing ok. I can't imagine what this is like for them.
