  1. The end result is the same, though. If Comcast and RCN and Youtube TV and any other services aren't carrying the Marquee network who is going to be able to watch the games?
  2. It's really funny because the Sox learned this lesson in the 80s with Sportvision, and you'd expect the Cubs wouldn't want to make similar mistakes but nope here they are keeping Cubs games away from all their fans watching Youtube TV and Comcast.
  3. Giants are definitely getting a little lucky with their hits. Maybe two of their hits so far have been hit hard.
  4. They've already spent a TON of money. There isn't much else out there that's a non-controversial upgrade right now. I'm fine with them waiting until the ASB or next offseason to augment. There are still a lot of unknowns on this team right now.
  5. Hopefully "maxed out" means "for this offseason".

    Job Thread

I don't think I would spend time building a "speech to code" interpreter, unless the problem was constrained to very specific languages so the parser would know that you were intending to call a specific language feature. You would also need a way to store local keywords so class, function and variable names would be properly referenced. I would still rather work on alternate input methods, like Microsoft's adaptive controller: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/controllers/xbox-adaptive-controller Also after reading some of this thread it's clear you're the largest obstacle to your own success @Jack Parkman. Hopefully the perspective of the people in this thread helps you work past that, but given the litany of excuses and blame-shifting I've seen I doubt it. Best of luck with your job search.
  7. Probably. I really don't see it being successful otherwise unless they figure out a way to pull players from the NFL and that's not happening.
  8. Wonderful 101 is also on Kickstarter and is coming to other systems. I don't know if Nintendo was referring to it - might be another option in there.
  9. I assume it's going to be treated as a minor league. Talent drain could really hurt them unless players know they have a shot at the NFL from the XFL, then that might help if they don't want to sit on a practice squad for a year or play Arena football/in the CFL. I think the XFL is going to need to get really creative with recruiting some under the radar players from small schools or develop a reputation as a great place to learn how to transition to the NFL, otherwise they'll just fail in a year or two again.
  10. If this team could even get in the same neighborhood as the Rays when it comes to scouting and player development I would be so happy. I would love to never have to see a sustained rebuild again.
  11. I don't get this board's obsession with veteran players that aren't good.
  12. It's fake but I'm enjoying that I have something to follow on SoxTalk this morning.
  13. The more "details" these idiots provide the less likely it is to happen.
  14. In a vacuum moving a 5 WAR 3B to 2B or the outfield to add another 5+ WAR third baseman is a no-brainer. I really don't want to spend the assets it would require to get him, though, because I think it will still be a lot and we're not deep beyond our top 5ish prospects. I also don't want to move a guy who just had a fantastic year and his first taste of sustained success to another position.
  15. Both SoT and FBW are great games. I hope they do another.
  16. Who else needs a third baseman and would give Donaldson 4/110 million?
  17. That makes sense, since Donaldson's agent is Dan Lozano.
  18. Brandon Workman just put up a 2 fWAR season as a reliever, made $1 mil last year, and is under team control for 2 seasons. There's no realistic way the Sox are getting Workman and Bradley without giving up too much, especially if they're bringing Bradley off the bench.
  19. Even if he did nothing else that homer to beat the Cubs is in my all-time best White Sox moments.
  20. JBJ is a starter on the Red Sox. He's not going to come here and want to take a backup role, and even if he did I'm not taking on a large chunk of David Price's salary to get a backup who isn't really better than Engel on defense and hasn't been much better at hitting since 2016.
  21. It makes sense to trade him, then, unless they're trying to keep him around one more year and persuade him. If they trade him though it won't be packaging him with Price and losing a ton of value. They'll trade him alone and get back a solid set of prospects.
  22. I really don't think Boston is looking to add Betts to sweeten the pot to trade Price. It doesn't make a lot of sense. I think they're trying to clear salary so they can resign Betts, and trading him to then resign him in the offseason is just odd.
  23. That's why I said I'm not optimistic. I think they'll still try, though.
