  1. Pena is super hot. If it wasn't for him and Castro, I don't think the Cubs would've scored a run this series.
  2. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) 4 runs off a bad pitcher, over 100 pitches. The way things have been lately, we'll take it.4 runs in 5 innings off a starter who just shut the Yankees down isn't bad.
  3. Quentin looks bad against Davis. Maybe he should try right field, because swinging out of his shoes is not working.
  4. Lopez is awful. We should be able to score against him, right? Right?
  5. Not sure why you guys are getting on Morel for picking that ball up. I'm glad he did -- Castro probably would've roped a double to tie the game. Let him have a piddly infield single.
  6. Morel having a good night. He's been more and more impressive. Pierre can't run any more.
  7. Oh Alex, just when I thought you might be coming out of it...
  8. Quentin at .216/.318/.378/.697 in the last 2 weeks, not including tonight's 0-3.
  9. Rios looks like he's seeing the ball well. It'd be nice if he could start hitting consistently.
  10. Pena is doing basically what I had hoped Dunn would do - fight off pitches until the pitcher made a good pitch and struck him out, walk, or hit a rope somewhere when he finally got a mistake.
  11. It's about time for me to turn this one off. More boring, frustrating baseball after the first inning. Hopefully we can bounce back and win the series, and keep playing decent. Sometimes I'm surprised that we've been playing pretty well since May, since in some games it seems like we're one of the worst teams in baseball.
  12. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) "Look at the play by Pena..." IT WAS HIT RIGHT TO HIM! He had to move a foot to his right. I think Hawk was counting on Pena being in shock that a ball was hit sharply by Pierre to him, instead of a weak grounder to 2b or short.
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) One positive (if there are any), our middle relief is looking better and better.Mostly I think it's that the Cubs have an awful offense.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) AnyoneIt definitely looked like it was on the back of the plate when Soto picked it up. It was certainly close, though.
  15. I keep hearing we don't want to bring up Viciedo because Pierre is on an MLB contract, and the team doesn't want to lose money. Isn't Viciedo also on an MLB contract, since we signed him out of Cuba? Aren't we paying him $4 million to kill AAA? I realize Pierre isn't really an issue in this game, but it's been on my mind since listening to Rongey yesterday.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) Dunn juist amazes me. 3 at bats and 3 k's and Zambrano is a righty pitcxher with nothing on the ball according to you guysAnd this is a team and pitcher he's hit well in the past.
  17. 6 runs on 7 baserunners for the Cubs. Castro and Pena with 3 rbi each.
  18. Castro again. Sometimes I forget how frustrating Floyd can be.
  19. PIERRE WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR LILLIBRIDGE MAKING THAT CATCH.
  20. We had 3 or 4 good chances to pull this one out. You knew the longer this one went, the more likely the Jays would win.
