  1. It's not a uniform distribution, though. And it almost certainly never will be. Teams with one prospect in MLB top 100: Astros, Dbacks, Rangers Teams with two prospects in MLB top 100: Angels, Braves, Giants, Orioles, Padres, Rays, Rockies, Royals
  2. Cleveland could have traded Clase for a nice package of prospects, or if they kept him he could've been brought in during the 7th yesterday when they began to run into trouble.
  3. Elko is the kind of guy they should be working to optimize, in my mind. He's got a ton of in game power but has pitch recognition issues/holes in his swing that prevent him from being anything in the majors. I'd have a very clear plan for him in the offseason to overhaul his swing and work on pitch recognition. It's likely to not provide any value and he's probably destined for Japan or Korea, but there's a .500 SLG guy in there if they can get him to hit even like .230.
  4. You have to take it in isolation, because there's nothing they can do about the other teams in the division other than spend more on quality free agents, which they're not gonna do (yet, hopefully). All they can do is continue to draft and develop well enough to keep feeding the system with impact players, so when guys wash out or leave they have replacements. I'd also love to see continued wins on the margins like finding 2-3 WAR guys in the rule 5 draft, but I don't think you can count on that.
  5. They might get more negative attention if they lose to the Brewers in the NLDS after blowing that division lead (97 wins is not insurmountable), and Tucker leaves. Though Tucker being just "good" is going to give them excuses. Both of my brothers-in-law are Cubs fans and they provide a pretty good read on the fan sentiment. Before the postseason they were pretty down on the front office.
  6. https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/updated-top-100-prospects-list-for-october-2025?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage Braden Montgomery #38 Noah Schultz #40 Billy Carlson #71 Caleb Bonemer #73 Hagen Smith #88 Nice to see the system rebound a bit after graduating Quero, Teel and Colson. Hopefully Fauske can make his way into the back end of the top 100 sometime next year. I'd guess Montgomery, Schultz and Smith are possibly up next season, which means McDougal, Oppor and Lodise are next up on the Sox top 30 as potential top 100s. Not sure any of them profile well enough to make the list, though. If the Sox can draft well enough to find guys with enough potential future impact in the first three rounds, and find a few diamonds in the rough in later rounds, they should be able to build a continuously competitive MLB team.
  7. Milwaukee was 6th in bullpen ERA (3.63 to 3.06 for SD), so its not like there's a big downgrade. The Cubs also only scored 6 runs in 3 games. If the Cubs average 2 runs per game again they'll be swept.
  8. Why do ESPN announcers not know left field from right field? That's the second time I've heard "left field" when the ball went to right.
  9. San Diego was absolutely awful offensively this series and the Cubs still barely won. Milwaukee should be able to handle them.
  10. King and Miller should’ve been first up for them, and let them go as long as they could. Probably won’t matter though as the Padres can’t score runs
  11. This is just two mediocre teams. Tough series to watch.
  12. Cleveland, you REALLY need to be able to play defense if you're going to rely on pitching and can't hit.
  13. Oh come on guys. Let's draft just one more first round WR or TE. We can quit whenever we want!
  14. I think I had the Sox in the mid-70s for wins in 2024, so... oops.
  15. Not like Justin Turner knows what he's talking about or anything...
  16. Is Miller going to be available tomorrow, since he's going to be close to if not over 30 pitches?
  17. I could give Counsell s%*# for not taking out Imanaga for a righty to face Machado, but you have to expect that one of your best pitchers can get one out against a guy who is dangerous but hadn't done anything in this series up until that point.
  18. .216/.262/.372 in the second half
  19. When he's good you can put up with him. When he's all defense no bat like he is right now...
  20. Likely that one of their relievers is gonna struggle, and if the Padres can't tack on more runs they're gonna lose
  21. This is an incredibly quick hook for Cease after he made PCA look silly in his first at-bat. Plus, PCA has been godawful for the entire second half.
  22. Oh you're right. Guess they don't switch locations for the Wild Card series. Oof for the Tigers.
