  1. He's hit everywhere but Seattle, and even there he was roughly league average. How else are you going to get a decent left handed hitter with some pop in this lineup with their budgetary restrictions and barren minor leagues?
  2. Yeah he's bad, but so is Eloy. Not sure they can afford someone who can hit and field in LF so this might be the best they can do.
  3. I wouldn't mind betting on a bounce back from Winker assuming the price isn't crazy - and it shouldn't be, with one year left on his deal and his struggles in Seattle. Get a LH bat in the lineup at a low salary ($8M) in a similar park environment to Cincinnati where he was over an .800 OPS every year. Also lets you play Eloy at DH.
  4. Do we know why he left? Just the Dusty Baker thing?
  5. I heard they sacrificed the scout who recommended this trade to their dark god
  6. I don't trust anyone they'd let go to be good
  7. If this was the reason... I'd get it. We're only human.
  8. I was hopeful with Takatsu and Iguchi, then bidding on Tanaka and Fukudome, but they've basically been completely out of the Pacific Rim since 2014. Even Takatsu and Iguchi were in the White Sox playbook of bidding on lower tier players and hoping for outsized production.
  9. A clubhouse could certainly become toxic quickly if the manager is drunk before/during/right after the game. Could also explain my profile picture. Being drunk all the time could also lead to other health problems, especially at Tony's age. Would also fit the "sweep it under the rug" behavior from the DUI when he was hired. It might not be fair to speculate, and it might be a legit serious health issue out of his control, but this is what happens when you don't explain wtf is going on.
  10. I assume he's better than Sheets out there at least, so maybe he'd play RF until Colas is up, then shift over to LF. Who am I kidding though the Sox haven't made much of an effort in Japan and I doubt they will here.
  11. Could you put him in LF/DH with Eloy? Assume Colas or Conforto for RF.
  12. Benintendi feels like Melky to me. He only hit 2 homers with that tiny RF in Yankee Stadium and his SLG was about the same as it was in KC (~.400). With their presumed budget issues I don't think he's worth it.
  13. It's gonna be Colas in RF and Romy/Lenyn at 2B and I'm kind of fine with that because it's better than what we had and has a chance to be legit good. I also wouldn't mind a flyer on Conforto. Would love Contreras or Rodon, but I highly doubt both of them. You'd need to offload Yaz somehow for sure for Contreras.
  14. No Philly is going about this all wrong you need to string singles together against McCullers!
  15. Then voided his contract, went to Baltimore and was never the same. Sox got an alright deal there, especially if Bonds also bailed after 2 years and then went on to be a monster in SF anyway.
  16. Even old school managers and players understood the benefit of a monster like Frank. Sox leading the pack of idiots again.
  17. From what I recall, the Sox asked Frank if they should sign Belle or Bonds, and Frank chose Belle.
  18. Great now I get to be upset the Sox blew signing Mark McGuire in the mid 90s.
  19. Oh god all the Guillen noise right now reminds me of when TLR got hired

  21. Cheap ass hits for the Guardians as usual
  22. I was thinking the same thing. Would pounce on a chance to bring him here.
