  1. No makeup date yet. Single game Sunday. Jackson vs Masterson
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 06:32 PM) think they'll get this one in? Could be a long one tonight. Both teams are short on off days in September, so I think they'll wait a long time tonight, or it will be a doubleheader tomorrow.
  3. At this point, moving Quentin wouldn't be as much about who we get back, but more about getting Viciedo's major league career going. And not having to deal with Quentin in arbitration after this season. If they can get a couple low-level prospects with upside, I think that would be fair for Quentin. Now if John Danks gets in play, I would want major league ready talent back. Or close to the majors.

  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) Someone from this division is going to make a move at the deadline to push to 88. They're so bunched together at the top that a moderate sized move could be the difference easily. I'm thinking more about one game better than 2nd place, not the ultimate win total of the 1st place team.
  6. http://twitter.com/#!/nickcafardo/stat...879415992983552 Red Sox scouting Jackson and Quentin. That would be interesting to see a trade while the White Sox are playing them.
  7. Looks like they'll be dodging rain again tonight.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) 88-74 good enough to win the central? Yes, and it could be much less if the Sox and Twins take care of the Tigers and Indians. If I had to put a number on it right now, I think 86 wins gets it done.
  9. Pierre LF Ramirez SS Konerko 1B Dunn DH Quentin RF Rios CF Pierzynski C Beckham 2B Morel 3B
  10. Amy Winehouse. Can't say I'm shocked. Should have gone to rehab.
  11. I'm digging Keenyn Walker getting his knocks, rookie ball or otherwise. So he's moving up next week to Kanny?
  12. Of course Mitchell goes out and has 4 hits tonight, including 2 doubles.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) I am overwhelmed by the staggering profundity of your artfully crated retort. Yes, the guy coming off a terrible injury, and who by the way has started to hit quite well lately, and was already known to be raw on drafting him... is "awful". Thanks for adding to the discussion. He has played awful, and not up to the level of a 23rd overall pick, injury or not. Does he have time to get it together over the next 2 years? Yes, but he'll be 24-25 years old at that point, and probably won't be anything special. So we have to hope Keenyn Walker is the new OF/leadoff hope over the next few years.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) some serious storm action -- late start to this one? Just looked at the radar myself...yeah, don't count on this one to start on time.
  15. They'll go 3-3 the next six, do nothing, and finish 80-82. Either sweep them or get swept. Either one is fine with me.

    2011 TV Thread

Great episode of Louie last night. The Who, the old lady, the stand up...all great.
  17. Nevin Griffith is bad.

  19. I wonder how many major league pitching coaches have a weekly radio segment. And if the deal is just ask him questions about pitching, that should come from Cooper before they even agree to do the segment. Otherwise, any question about the team is fair game. He can either answer the question like a professional, or don't do the segment at all. Bottom line--Don Cooper is a typical asshole New Yorker who just happens to be a good pitching coach for the team I root for.
  20. He got real full of himself after 05. I'm not saying he's not good at what he does. Clearly he has paid dividends as a pitching coach. But it may be time for him to stay away from the microphones. If all he's doing is promoting his camps, then he's got to learn to not be such a dick.
  21. 10 weeks to go. (starting countdown on every Wednesday)
  22. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) They might as well trade Danks...seems like the offense goes into complete crap down their pantleg mode every time he pitches. Blow the whole thing up for all I care. Pathetic. I'm very surprised that it hasn't come up in trade rumors. If a team wants to spend a big price, they'll get the rest of this year, and next year. If the Yankees want to give us a couple pitching prosepcts and a catcher, I'd part with Johnny.
