Charlotte is facing Teheran tonight. Should be a nice test for Viciedo.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) I've said this before, but Cooper wants the managerial job from what he's said on the radio. He's awful with the media. Can't see him ever managing as that's part of the gig. I'd be ok with Cooper leaving for the Yankees or another team if it meant the Kenny/Ozzie/Cora/Walker thing would get blown up. I'm thoroughly disgusted with this whole organization. It's like we're forced to pretend nothing is wrong because there's a chance we'll win this pathetic division. But can anyone honestly say they enjoy watching this club on a day-to-day basis win or lose? The brand of baseball, the Ozzie/Kenny thing, the marketing of the team, Hawk, ...all of it. It's just garbage everywhere you look.
-
Wouldn't a no-brainer blowout be a refreshing change today? How about a quality start and score seven runs in the first three innings...

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:29 PM) Yes peavy gave up 5 rubs. Sometimes however in the American league you need to score runs. Not every game is a qs. Not every game is a quality start, but that's a pretty good way to judge a starting pitcher. 2 quality starts in 8 starts, plus one great bullpen appearance. He's an average pitcher that doesn't stay healthy.
-
Turned on Rongey just now for the first time in a couple weeks. I'll go back to not listening. Same old crap.
-
Peavy is overrated. Dunn still sucks. We're seeing what Lillibridge is when he plays too much. That is all.

Mitchell with a triple in his first AB. Signs of life?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) 1.) Really? You really believe somebody will harm the mom? Nobody hurt OJ. I think the difference here is this is about a mother and her child. I think OJ's celebrity wasn't relatable to the average person. With this chick, there could be a bunch of women that might want to take her out. I definitely think Casey Anthony will get in fights with women. You never know how far somebody will take it.

It's too bad what happened today. Unfortunately, somebody will probably try to take the law into their own hands. She better have some good security, or get in the witness protection program.

Good for Kuhn. If he finishes strong, I could definitely see a September call up.

at Milly-Walk-A: 4 innings, 8 hits, 6 runs, 5 er, 1 bb, 3 k, 2 homers including a grand slam by Shawn Marcum. Off the hook for the loss, and his ERA went up to 3.75.

Road to 88 wins for the Sox, Tigers, and Indians: Sox (46-31) Cle 7-6 Det 7-5 KC 10-6 Min 8-6 Bal 3-1 Bos 2-1 NY 2-2 Tor 2-1 LAA 1-1 Sea 2-1 Tex 2-1 Indians (44-36) Chi 6-7 Det 6-6 KC 6-3 Min 8-5 Bal 2-2 Bos 2-2 NY 2-1 Tor 2-2 LAA 2-1 Oak 2-2 Sea 3-2 Tex 3-3 Tigers (43-34) Chi 5-7 Cle 6-6 KC 9-4 Min 8-5 Bal 5-2 TB 2-2 LAA 3-4 Oak 3-3 Tex 2-1 Hopefully the Sox exceed and the Indians and Tigers fall below, but this is kind of a realistic breakdown of the remaining opponents for each team.

Saladino homered. Replaced late in the game....porque?

Cubs are going for their first 3-game winning streak today. Not on our watch.
-
Phil Coke as a starter is over. 1-7, 4.82 ERA. Charlie Furbush is in the Tigers rotation, which will make Terry Boers very happy.
-
the White Sox are never a second half team...

Another quality start last night vs Cleveland. 8-5, 3.49 ERA 13 quality starts out of 17. Holmberg has a 34 inning scoreless streak. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...;vkey=news_milb Great trade.

They just had to draft a guy named Walker with the initials KW. Let me know when he makes it to AA.

This series...don't have a good feeling about it.

QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:26 AM) I want KW back. I can forgive the Jackson trade because he has had many successful moves such as Santos, Humber, Danks, and so on. I would replace Ozzie before KW to find out if a different manager who uses voodoo mumbo jumbo like statistics would be able to better use the players that KW brings it. They should have replaced Walker 3 years ago to find out if the offensive problems could be solved. I feel that KW would have fired both Walker and Ozzie a long time ago if it wasn't for JR. I feel KW would be an even better GM if JR would let him run the show. The only way to know for sure is to boot Ozzie and let KW have a couple more years with a manager of his choice. With the amount of moves teams make, you can cherry pick and make any GM look good. The bottom line with Kenny is his teams have won 2 divisions in 10 years, in the largest market in the weakest division. He got the winning lottery ticket in 2005, and he gets a certain amount of credit for that, but the bottom line is his teams usually don't make the playoffs, and the minor league system sucks.
