Rays 1-seed magic number on Astros remains 1
Astros 2-seed magic number on Sox is 2
Astros clinch West if the A’s beat the Mariners tonight. At least those assholes have to wait around.
The 2-seed would be great, but chances are the Astros will win 2 and the Sox will lose 1 before Saturday’s games are over. If we have a shot Sunday morning, then get excited.
It would be kind of funny if the Cardinals finally lose tonight, but clinch by the Braves beating the Phillies and the White Sox beating the Reds. Sox game will probably end last.
He’ll make it. What happens if the Sox win game 1, and the game 2 starter gets lit up the first couple innings? You punt by keeping the rest of the staff fresh, and Keuchel goes 4-5 innings no matter what.
I’m expecting Lynn, Giolito, Rodon/Kopech, Cease, Lynn and Giolito in game 5 if needed.
Offense needs to score some runs and not make this order a real issue.
4-way tie scenario:
Yankees (1-2 at Tor, 1-2 vs TB)
Red Sox (2-1 at Bal, 1-2 at Was)
Blue Jays (2-1 vs NY, 2-1 vs Bal)
Mariners (2-1 vs Oak, 3-0 vs LAA)
Rays 1-seed magic number over Astros is 1
Astros 2-seed magic number over Sox is 3
Red Sox/Yankees loser tonight is the 2nd WC, Blue Jays 1 back, Mariners 2 back, A’s 3 back
