  1. Peavy was on the Score this morning. Kinda threw the organization under the bus about pitching at all in 2009. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/?podcast_url=h...mp;dcid=CBS.CHI
  2. Lineup tomorrow: Pierre LF Beckham 2B Rios CF Dunn DH Konerko 1B Quentin RF Pierzynski C Ramirez SS Morel 3B I think it moved...
  3. The intrasquad game was canceled. Wet grounds. The weather looks fine out there the next week, so the pitchers will get their work in this week.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Feb 27, 2011 -> 01:13 AM) Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the game on Monday is on MLB Network! But will it be blacked out in the Chicago area? That is the question.
  5. Bobby Jenks isn't good enough for me to care about this. Games start on Monday.
  6. Phillies/Yankees are on at noon on MLBN. Bartolo Colon on the mound. I gotta see that.
  7. Group Four....excuse me. Core Four is that thing with the Yankees that's over.
  8. Why wasn't Timo part for Core Four?
  9. Sale's schedule to begin spring training-- March 2 - 1 inning March 5 - 1 inning March 8 - 2 innings
  10. Wainwright out helps the Brewers. I liked them in the NL Central. I like them even more now.
  11. http://twitter.com/CST_soxvan Sun-times guy.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 22, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) Remember the injury is healed. There is no longer a problem with the attachment of the lat. It was re-attached and probably still has an anchor there. The only thing he needs to do is build strength. He is starting at a weaker point in the muscles than the other pitchers. So there is no surprise that he is going to pitch soon. In fact to continue to build strength in the muscle they may have him pitch more. The glitch or expected problem that will happen is in strength and soreness from building the muscle not from the muscle re-attachment. I'm not really thinking about the lat injury. I'm just wondering what's next with Peavy. Will it be the shoulder? Will it be the elbow? I just think it's always going to be something with this guy. So if he's pain free and at the 100-pitch threshold by April 1, turn him loose and see what happens.
  13. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) Merk says that Peavy is going to pitch in a game on March 4. I'm surprised they are giving him a game so early. I think that's pretty good news, though. I agree. It's very surprising that he has a game schedule already. I just hope they are cautious with him, but if he's ready for the April 9th start, that would be great. That's when the Sox will need a 5th starter for the first time. I hope they give him that extra week, and if he gets hurt, he gets hurt. It'll either happen in a Sox uniform or a Charlotte uniform, so they might as well go for it.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 21, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) How has he not signed on to do his own talk show yet? If you think Floyd is Mr. Personality, check out Brent Morel. http://buzztap.com/link.jsp?id=3560430&amp..._medium=twitter
  15. Word is Viciedo dropped more weight. Hopefully this will bode well for him in the outfield.
  16. No kidding. 9 more days until games start, even if they don't count. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) Great pics, K. Damn I need some baseball.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 08:08 AM) That would be Cole Hamels. But I get the point you were trying to make. Yeah, I guess technically Hamels is a 4, but he's really a 3. I'd consider Halladay a 1. Lee and Oswalt are 2's, and Hamels is a 3. I consider Buehrle a 4 because of his production the last 5 seasons. On a championship team, he's the guy that you'd want pitching the 4th game at this point in his career. We need Danks, Jackson, and Floyd to step up, and man, if we get 25-30 starts from Peavy--and a postseason, then we have a shot this season.
  18. Buehrle is the best 4th starter in baseball. As long as he wants to be paid like a 4th starter after this year, he can stay as long as he's putting up 32 starts and 200+ innings.
  19. The other night, Al Leiter cited Alexei's error total, and said that his defense would have to improve if he's going to be higher on the shortstop list. Yikes. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) Yeah, I would think so. Can't believe Alexei wasn't listed between 49-100. He is vastly underrated it seems.
  20. Drink every time Hawk calls an era or a time frame, a "time zone".
  21. He also said this might be the best White Sox team he's seen. For the 26th year in a row. QUOTE (G&T @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 07:49 AM) Ahhhh....Hawk is on the Score and mentioned Catfish within 45 seconds. It's that time of year and it feels good.
  22. MLB Network's 30 in 30 White Sox show is Wednesday, March 9. http://mlb.mlb.com/network/promotions/30_in_30.jsp
  23. Pitchers and catchers report today and it's going to be 60! Here's a story on Josh Kinney... http://www.whig.com/story/sports/2-17-Schuck-Column
