  1. Socolovich and Nunez are having pretty good Winter Leagues. Some of the other guys that will be in big league camp...not so good. http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/org.jsp?id=cws
  2. Sox took Mitchell at 23. Angels took Trout at 25. Just sayin'.
  3. Fixed. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) I'm wondering that too i see Ozzie, Cora, Coop, Cox and Salas (bullpen catcher) listed but no Harold.
  4. Your 2011 White Sox numbers: 1- Pierre 3- Baines 8- Cox 10- Ramirez 11- Vizquel 12- Pierzynski 13- Guillen 14- Konerko 15- Beckham 17- Flowers 18- Lillibridge 20- Quentin 21- Cooper 22- Morel 23- Teahen 24- Viciedo 26- Crain 27- Castro 28- Cora 29- Walker 30- De Aza 31- Ohman 32- Dunn 33- Jackson 34- Floyd 36- Nieves 37- Thornton 38- Gartrell 40- Bruney 41- Humber 44- Peavy 45- McPherson 46- Santos 47- Infante 48- Marquez 49- Sale 50- Danks 51- Rios 52- Kinney 53- Dolsi 54- Nunez 55- Lucy 56- Buehrle 57- Pena 58- Harrell 59- Salas 60- Gray 61- Hynick 62- Escobar 63- Cofield 64- Carter 65- Jones 66- Lindsay 67- Danks 68- Socolovich 70- Bellamy 71- Leesman 74- Price 75- Phegley 76- Short
  5. I don't think Buehrle deserves an extension during the season. All he's been talking about the last two years is retiring at the end of his contract. I love the guy, don't get me wrong. But I want players on the Sox that want to be there and want to bust ass to win a championship. If Buehrle has reservations about continuing his career, the best thing he could do is play on one-year contracts.
  6. Danks looks like he got some new teeth this offseason. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...73.photogallery
  7. This Morel thing is just to light the fire under him during spring training. He can't tell Morel that he has the job even though he does. As long as he isn't pitiful with the bat in March, Morel will be there on opening day. Pierzynski batting 6th? I suppose the lineup can be fluid 6-9, but I hope Quentin earns his way back up to 6th, and AJ can go to 8, especially if Morel is batting 9th.
  8. Pretty nice list. Good call on McCann. I think he may be quietly building a Hall of Fame career, and nobody knows it yet.

    Peavy

    He's throwing off a mound. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/...rogressing.html
  10. 14 non-roster invites: Pitchers: Brian Bruney, Jeff Gray, Josh Kinney, Shane Lindsay, Miguel Socolovich, Kyle Bellamy, Brandon Hynick, Charlie Leesman Catchers: Josh Phegley, Donny Lucy, Jared Price Outfield: Jordan Danks, Brandon Short Infielder: Dallas McPherson
  11. Sox claimed Phil Humber off waivers from Oakland.
  12. Spring Broadcast Schedule. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/white-sox/...adsact-schedule
  13. Recap and Preview are two different things. They did the 2010 recap a couple weeks ago. They'll do the 2011 preview during spring training.
  14. They did the Sox recap already. I think they were second a couple weeks ago.
  15. Pitchers and catchers report a month from today, and the first spring training game is 6 weeks from today. There's your warm thought for the day.
  16. I wonder if they're kicking around the idea of making Viciedo a corner outfielder. I have a lot of confidence in Morel, and Konerko and Dunn have 1B covered the next 3 years. Might be a good idea for Viciedo to play left or right field this year at Charlotte.
  17. Some of you are real paranoid about Frank getting in on the first ballot. He's a lock. Trust me. Well over 75%. Guarantee it.
  18. Not sure if anyone posted this before, but White Sox pitchers and catchers report on February 17. Full squad reports on Feb. 22. http://mlb.fanhouse.com/2011/01/11/spring-...kusspor00000002 79 Days until Opening Day in Cleveland!
  19. Josh Kinney has also been rumored to be one of the NRIs. He had a decent year at AAA Memphis in 2010. 1.80 ERA in 60 innings. 51 K's and WHIP under 1.
  20. Vizquel deserves it. Great defense, pretty good hitter-he'll have over 2800 hits and 400 stolen bases. Played for winning teams. His career is very much like Luis Aparicio, and I'm sure nobody thought he was one of the top five offensive players during his career.
  21. Over the next four years, I expect Adam Dunn to continue what he's been doing, only in US Cellular Field. Walk 100 times and hit 40+ homers every year, and the rest should take care of itself.
  22. I've come around on Raines. Maybe it's because he wasn't that good the last 6-7 years of his career, when he was mostly a role player. But the Montreal years were awesome, and he had some good years with the Sox, too. He belongs.
  23. Beckham on Twitter. Don't do it, Gordon. http://twitter.com/scottmerkin/status/23075410036137984
  24. Frank's going in on the first ballot. I have no doubt. It may be low 80's percentage because of some voting snobs, but he'll be over 75%.
  25. Alexei doesn't start hitting until the middle of May, so if Beckham looks good in spring training, he should get another shot at the 2-hole.
