Astros may be losing 4 in a row today. Something the Sox haven’t done since June. As much as they’ve had frustrating games, the Sox didn’t let it get out of hand in the second half.
Rays 1-seed magic number on Astros is 3
Astros 2-seed magic number on Sox is 3
AL wildcard- Yankees and Red Sox tied for the two spots. Game would be in Boston. Blue Jays 2 back, Mariners 3 back after their game is over.
Braves were down to their last out. Passed ball, base hit ties it. Phillies fans are not happy. If the Braves lose, it’s a half game lead.
Phillies in Atlanta on Tuesday.
I was just explaining why it hasn’t been the same since the Blackout Game 9/30/08. I’m sure it will will be every bit as cool this year, and be a valued tradition for years to come.
It just isn’t the same effect when it’s short sleeves and it’s a day game. Bottom line, Sox should stop trying to recreate the Blackout Game. It’s not going be the same.
The Astros losing last night was pretty big for them in their pursuit for the top seed. Sox will more than likely be there in two weeks. That said, I would prefer the Rays for no other reason than I hate the Astros and don’t want to watch them play the Sox unless it’s the ALCS.
AL Wildcard with 9 left-
Bos 88-65 (vs NY, at Bal, at Was)
NY 86-67 (at Bos, at Tor, vs TB)
Tor 85-68 (at Min, vs NY, vs Bal)
Sea 84-69 (at LAA, vs Oak, vs LAA)
Dodgers were down to their last out. Won in 10.
Giants and Padres 6-6 in the bottom of the 10th. Extra inning rule sucks, but nothing they can do now. Hopefully only 10 more days in its current form.
