  1. It's going to be awesome when Beckham is at the all-star game next year.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 12:07 PM) If this really is the case then D.Lee should with out a doubt be option A but that apparently isn't happening. If we bring PK back we're about to have to get real freakin creative. I agree. Don't get me wrong, I want Konerko back. But the bullpen needs a lot of work. I'm not nuts about Chris Sale being the closer, and I really don't like the idea of Matt Thornton of being the closer.
  3. QUOTE (balfanman @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) With Dunn & Konerko hitting some where in the middle of the order wouldn't you want a good fastball hitter, like say Ramirez, hitting in front of them? Whoever hits in front of those really has no excuse not to have a monster year. Ramirez needs to prove he can hit in April first. He hasn't done it in 3 years. At least to start the year, I think he needs to be down in the order, and see if Beckham can finally reach his potential.
  4. I don't think Beckham is ready to bat 3rd, but they need to have him give the 2-spot another shot. I don't want to see him batting 8th or 9th all year. When it's all said and done, I hope it's: Pierre, Beckham, Rios, Dunn, Konerko, Quentin, Ramirez, Pierzynski, Morel
  5. Dunn on with B&B in a minute.
  6. I think Dunn takes #45. Hopefully he'll hit that many homers too.
  7. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) OK, since I'm too lazy to look it up in this monster thread....what are we looking at, payroll wise? I'm assuming the hopes are that we find a way to get PK back at first, and say goodbye to Jenks. They're close to $100 million now, and that's before Quentin, Danks, and Pena. If they sign Konerko, they'll be around $120-$125 . Big-city baseball team.
  8. Doesn't Freddy have to sign with the White Sox first?
  9. I like the Dunn signing assuming it will happen. I just hope it means they don't have to dump pitching to afford him. Or settle for Tyler Flowers at catcher.
  10. Josh Phegley had his spleen removed Nov. 5. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...en-surgery.html
  11. Yeah, Quentin is a liability in RF, but that's all we got right now. De Aza might be a decent defensive replacement if he makes the roster.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 12:29 AM) Yuk. If those two guys are regulars for our Sox, we may be in for a last place campaign ... unless our pitching simply dominates. If the Sox signed Matsui and Pena and also got AJ back, I could live with this lineup: Pierre, Beckham, Rios, Matsui, Quentin, Pena, Ramirez, Pierzynski, Morel. There's some potential there, and the infield defense is real good. And they can do it without giving up starting pitching.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) Do you mean 2 more years at 12 million each year? Yes. Just two more guaranteed years at what he's made the last 5 years. $24 mil, plus an option for $12 in 2013.
  14. Maybe it'll happen next week, but it's surprising there haven't been any real offers made public for PK. It's too bad the Sox couldn't get him to come back for 2 more years at $12, and an option for a third. If he can do better, he should take it.
  15. The Sox should try to get one-year deals with Carlos Pena and Hideki Matsui and try to catch lightning in a bottle. If it doesn't work, dump everyone next July. This organization is a mess right now.
  16. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Nov 22, 2010 -> 01:05 PM) your NL MVP: Joey Votto Sox should try to get Yonder Alonso.
  17. Looks like pitchers Brian Bruney and Josh Kinney will be non-roster invites according to the Twitter world.
  18. Mitchell got a single in his final AB to end his AFL at .163 (13-80), 1 2B, 1 3B, 8 BB, 27 K Escobar finished at .300 (33-110), 4 2B, 5 3B, 4 HR, 9 BB, 14 K http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=...=542&y=2010
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) Hell, I'd rather Viciedo at DH than Ibanez OR Matsui. I'm not a fan of putting a 22-year old at DH. Either find the guy a position, or trade him.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) For $11.5 million? If the Phillies threw in a few million, sure. That said, I'd rather see Matsui as a DH.
  21. I could live with Ibanez as an 130-game DH.
  22. Seriously...I tolerated that punk for a month. I don't want that guy on my team for a full year. I'm not too worried about it though. I highly doubt the Sox even want to talk to Manny this offseason. He'll probably end up in Toronto, if anywhere.
  23. Mitchell 0-3, 2 more k's. Almost over. Leesman had another bad inning. 11.81 ERA. He and Johnnie Lowe have sucked this AFL. I think both have to be added to the 40-man next week, or be exposed to Rule 5 draft. Don't hold me to that though.
